Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit My spirit.” When He had said this, He breathed his last. Luke 23:46.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

When you join yourself in Covenant with Jesus, you become one Spirit with Him, 1 Corinthians 6:17, and He is one Spirit with Me. And here we are speaking of the Holy Spirit, My Spirit and the Spirit of Jesus. But Jesus has a spirit as you do as well, for He is God and Man joined in One seamless life.

You have a spirit, a soul, and a body, you are a three-part being in one amazing whole that works together as one, but primacy should be in that order.

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24.

You are very intricately made, I have made all your parts so that they work together, the spirit, the soul, and the body. Your spirit and soul are eternal and are inseparably linked, though they are not the same, but depending on whether you are receiving your primary input into your mind from your flesh or from your spirit makes a tremendous difference in the quality of how you will spend your life on earth. A mind set only on the flesh brings addiction, torment, and death, because that is where the flesh is headed so it only cares about satisfying its lusts immediately whether it hastens your death or not. A mind set on the spirit brings life and peace because then you soul is receiving input from Me, from the Kingdom, for your spirit is where you hear from Me. And the only way, until you are familiar with My voice, that you know whether your direction is arising from your flesh or your spirit is by My Word as the dividing or plumb line for all decisions wrought in your soul. To go forward, if you want good success, you must be sure you are hearing from Me and not the stranger. Some people are far too familiar with the stranger, also known as Satan, the accuser of believers.

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12.

The body was originally eternal when I created it, but due to sin corrupting the seed it decays and dies, becoming again as the dust from which it came.

Remember Him before the silver cord is broken and the golden bowl is crushed, the pitcher by the well is shattered and the wheel at the cistern is crushed; then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it. Ecclesiastes 12:6-7.

The spirit and the soul, even though you cannot see them with your physical eyes, are eternal and are the most important parts of your being. Your spirit is who you are eternally, but your soul is the link of communication between your spirit and your body and how you have intake and output into the earthly, temporal realm, but it will be the same when you are clothed in your immortal heavenly glorified body. It is not earthly but is formed from heavenly substance. You will still look as you do in the world because your body fits your spirit and soul perfectly. You can distort the image by sin, gluttony, and various other abuses of the body but underlying the corruption that is in the world is the perfect blueprint in your DNA. And from that one plan your eternal body is fashioned as well, it is still the plan, but the building materials are different.

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. 1 Corinthians 15:42-46.

The physical came first then the spiritual. From the physical plan the spiritual one is built. That is why the angels must gather you from the four winds and the dead are raised. Jesus is calling all of you forth to rise, and those who are already with Me in Heaven must also be united again with the plan of their body to form into the immortal, glorified body which is the last phase of completing the fullness of redemption. I have sealed you who believe in Him with the Holy Spirit as a pledge of the redemption of your bodies.

In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory. Ephesians 1:13-14.

I have sealed you thus in Christ and commanded Him to raise all those I gave Him to immortal glorified bodies on the Last Day by the Spirit.

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:27-40.

For those who have previously died before My Son calls all His body the church to rise and are with Me in Heaven even now, the perfect plan for the formation of each will rise up to join to your spirit and soul and, in the twinkling of an eye it is changed from mortal to immortal. And the same will happen for those of you who have not physically died yet when I catch you up in the clouds.

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

Do not worry, however, if you pass to Heaven before Jesus returns, no matter whether you were buried, cremated, sprinkled, lost at sea, or in a fire, your DNA is till there, even if just one single strand, ready to be caught up from the four winds to join with your spirit and soul with the plan for your perfect formation in the spiritual realm.

Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven. Mark 13:26-27.

Your spirit and soul are like a magnet to the plan that is your plan from everlasting to everlasting. Even now, those with Me in the Kingdom look like they did on earth for your spirit and soul are in the exact form that makes up the you that you are. Only the spiritual is the perfect you that you were planned by Me from eternity before sin defiled mankind, however.

But someone will say, “How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?” You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies; and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be, but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of something else. But God gives it a body just as He wished, and to each of the seeds a body of its own. 1 Corinthians 15:35-38.

If you want to live a life filled with righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, which is the flow of Heaven, your spirit must have control of your soul, which consists of your mind (intellect and reasoning), your Will, and your emotions, and of your body. The body consists of your physical organs, but I also speak of the mindset of the flesh. It is of a lower realm than your spirit and is centered on your body, feelings, and emotions that are only focused on what you discern with the five physical senses in this world. It lacks spiritual input and insight. This is the realm where sin puts you under the devil’s control. It is headed towards death. I speak of it as the lust of the flesh.

And this is what sin did to Adam and why you were all struggling with your flesh, until Jesus came and changed all that for those who receive Him as Lord. But even before He came, you could enter Covenant with Me by faith in My Word, first the spoken and then the written Word, and by the sacrificial offerings of the unblemished clean animals. My Word, known as the Law or Torah (instruction that hits the bullseye every time) taught righteousness and men sought to make their lives righteous but no one, even though some came very close such as Enoch, Noah, Elijah, and Daniel, could attain perfect righteousness until I gave it to you as a gift in Jesus. I gave you My own righteousness in Him, and created you anew in Him by releasing you from sin by His blood and giving you a new living heart, that is, a living spirit.

Even after Adam sinned man always had a spirit but it was in darkness for it was dead to Me and alive to sin, your new master. Your spirit is My lamp to light with revelation knowledge but if you are not born again from above by My Word it is a smoldering wick that needs fanning into flame, it needs fresh oil. The anointing.

But now let us continue our Eucharistic journey where we left off at the foot of the Cross. It had come to the three o’clock hour of the evening sacrifice. It was the appointed time. And Jesus, crying out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Having said this, He breathed His last. Luke 23:46.

Many things then took place that rocked the earth and were inexplicable in the natural world. The darkness that had covered the earth left and it was daylight again on Golgotha, the darkness had not overcome the Light of the world. In His sufferings and death, by the redemption in His blood, I had rescued you from the power of darkness and translated you into the Kingdom of My Beloved Son, in whom you have redemption, the forgiveness of your sins.

The veil covering the entrance to the Holy of Holies in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom right before the eyes of the priests and elders at the hour of the evening sacrifice. Under Covenant, which He had just sealed by His blood with Me, we had walked the bloody path to Calvary, the new and living way together, and now it opened the way for you to the Holy of Holies in Heaven, My throne of grace.

Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:19-23.

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16.

The earth shook and the rocks were split—a great earthquake took place. It was the incense hour at the golden altar of incense in the Temple at the time of the evening sacrifice. And it was also taking place in the heavenly Jerusalem.

Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it to the earth; and there followed peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake. Revelation 8:3-5.

May my prayer be counted as incense before You; the lifting up of my hands as the evening offering. Psalm 141:2.

I will again shake Heaven and earth and everything not of My unshakeable Kingdom, everything not built on the solid rock foundation of My Son, that is, of My Word, will fall.

And His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.” This expression, “Yet once more,” denotes the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us show gratitude, by which we may offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; for our God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:26-29.

At these events, the centurion and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, became very frightened, declaring, “Truly this was the Son of God!” And the centurion himself declared, “Certainly this man was a righteous man.” The third Gentile witness that Jesus was perfectly innocent and righteous.

A single witness shall not rise up against a man on account of any iniquity or any sin which he has committed; on the evidence of two or three witnesses a matter shall be confirmed. Deuteronomy 19:15.

And My Son witnessed to this law when He was among you as one like you:

But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed. Matthew 18:16.

Jesus’ last words on the Cross were “Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit.” He called Me “Father” again, not “My God, My God,” but “Father.” The sacrifice was complete to pay for your sin by the eternal life in the flesh He had given to free you from the death due for that sin, but there was another phase that had to be fulfilled to free you forever to be with Me. “Dust you are, and to dust you shall return.” He had to go down to the dust of death and taste the second death for you all so that you would never have to taste death.

But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. Hebrews 2:9.

It was the time He had to break the bonds of the netherworld, that is of Hades, known as Hell. The place where unrepentant sinners go. The second death. He had to taste death for you so that you would never have to taste it. And in doing so, He also took away Satan’s power over death and freed forever all who lived in fear of death.

Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. Hebrews 2:14-15.

Jesus was going to take your place in hell so you would never go there. He descended, but then He ascended. He had to die the death that was the result I told Adam and Eve would happen if they took of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In Hebrew it the word death two times, you shall die to die. You shall die the death, the second death.

The LORD God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely (מ֥וֹת) die (תָּמֽוּת).” Genesis 2:16-17.

Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:14-15.

Jesus had taken your sins into His eternal flesh, in Him I condemned sin in the flesh, Romans 8:1-3, but your sins could not touch His perfect spirit and soul, He had never sinned and had never given Satan any part in Him. He was indwelt by the Holy Spirit in His humanity and it was His Spirit in the divinity, though He had put His divine powers aside and emptied Himself to become like you in all things but sin. He died as Man, for as God He could not die, and He was raised as Man, the first born again man, the firstborn of many brethren. The first fruits of those who believe.

And the appointed time of First Fruits was the day after shabbat, the first day of the week, the third day after the Passover, the day I raised Jesus from the dead, the appointed time. And on that day the sheaf of the grain of the first fruits of the harvest would be raised and waved before Me so you would be acceptable to Me. Leviticus 23:11.

Jesus entrusted, handed over, deposited, His spirit into My hands. Why? Many reasons. Under Covenant, which He had just sealed by His blood with Me as we walked the bloody path to Calvary, the new and living way together. All I had was His and all He had was Mine. Through trust that I would not abandon Him to hell but would raise Him, as assured in the Scriptures, He placed His life in My hands, His spirit filled with the Holy Spirit in an act of total trust and love.

Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will dwell securely. For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; nor will You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay. Psalm 16:9-10.

Peter on Pentecost used this psalm of David as proof of the resurrection, first reciting it and then declaring:

Brethren, I may confidently say to you regarding the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. And so, because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants on his throne, he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh suffer decay. This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses. Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear. Acts 2:29-33.

And you too can entrust your spirit, soul, and body into My hands, your times are in My hands, and know that I will sanctify you entirely; and preserve you complete, spirit, soul, and body, without blame at the coming of your Lord Jesus Christ. I am faithful and I will bring it to pass. Entrust your life to Me, and I will take care of you because I care for you. Jesus told you that as His sheep you are in His hand, and He gives you eternal life and there is no snatching out of His hand. But He goes further, He tells you that in His hand you are in My hand and there is absolutely no snatching out of My hand. Jesus and I are one.

Jesus could not go to hell for you with a living spirit filled with the Holy Spirit in Him. And that is why Jesus must raise up all who are born again and sealed by the Spirit. My Spirit is pure, Satan has no part with My Spirit. If My Spirit is in you, you cannot go to hell. My Spirit cannot go there. Only unclean spirits go there. You must be separated in your spirit from Me, as Adam was, and devoid of My Spirit to go there. That is why you should not yoke yourself with an unbeliever. His spirit is dead to Me and alive to sin and Satan is his master.

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? 2 Corinthians 6:14-16.

Entrusting His spirit and His beloved Holy Spirit into My hands and emptying Himself completely of His connection to Me by the Spirit, which is eternal life, was the hardest of all that My Son had to do to save you.

Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:5-11.

Now this expression, “He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth? He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things. Ephesians 4:9-10.

Hell at that time was in the lower parts of the earth, after the great judgement at the Last Day, it is thrown into the lake of fire, the second death. No longer in the earth, for I make all things new. New heavens and a new earth free from all corruption and death. Pure. As I planned.

But My Son had to go there to take back the keys to death and the nether world and free all of you from fear of death by making it so in Him you would never go there. He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one who believes in Him shall ever perish but shall have eternal life. Sealed in Him by My Holy Spirit.

When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.” Revelation 1:17-18.

Jesus entrusted His spirit to Me and breathed out His last, He breathed His spirit right into My hands and though His body was on the cross, His soul had gone to the lowest depths of the nether world. Satan was about to lose everything he thought he had gained. Your hero was about to fight the battle He had already won on the Cross on the territory of the enemy in the realm of darkness. He went down to enforce the victory that raised Him up. In the next Life Lesson you will be witness through Psalm 2 of My raising of Jesus from the dead. And I sat on My throne and laughed at the enemies. And you can too. With Me in Jesus.

Tomorrow too we shall discuss His wounded side and His burial.

I love you. There is much here for you to ponder but to come to the complete fullness of understanding of all that I have done and do for you in Jesus will unfold to you in the Kingdom when you know Me even as I know you. It will be a wonderful day that will never end. And you will rejoice to see that day and be glad with faithful Abraham and every member of the body of Christ from the beginning to the end of time. It will be a glorious place to be and it will never end, just get better and better forever. I am always doing something new—with you!
