Who may ascend into the mountain of the LORD? And who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart. Psalm 24:3-4.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלוהים) says:
Blessed are the pure (clean) of heart for they shall see Me. Be holy, for I am holy. I have called you out of darkness into My own marvelous light. You are a consecrated people, set apart, as My own special treasure.
You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers to abstain from fleshly lusts which wage war against the soul. Keep your behavior excellent among the Gentiles, so that in the thing in which they slander you as evildoers, they may because of your good deeds, as they observe them, glorify God in the day of visitation. 1 Peter 2:9-12.
In Jesus, I have clothed you in the garments of Salvation and the robe of My own righteousness. And I have given you the mind of Christ, 1 Corinthians 2:16, that is, I have given you an anointed mind.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Psalm 23:5.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, coming down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard, coming down upon the edge of his robes. Psalm 133:1-2.
Today I will teach you how to have a pure, untainted mind. And that will bring you into a time of refreshing.
There is only one remedy that will give you a pure mind for Satan will bombard you with impure thoughts. You recall that My Son called Satan and the demons that followed him “unclean spirits,” and that is just what they are. Never entertain them and certainly do not let them take a stronghold in your mind. Sensuality, impurity, promiscuity, adultery, and pornography and the like, perverted abominable things I never thought of and certainly will never countenance in My Kingdom, have entered the world through the idolatry of lust all founded in the unrighteousness of Satan, which turns to hatred and violence. Seek and pursue purity of heart. And the good news is, you can have it and enjoy living within its impenetrable walls.
What can cleanse your mind, and not just your mind, but make your spirit alive to Me and dead to sin, renew and transform your mind, and heal your body and make you whole? You should know the answer, but let Me show you with many witnesses:
For you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable through the living and enduring Word of God. 1 Peter 1:23.
“Now the parable is this: the seed is the Word of God.” Luke 8:11.
Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the Word implanted, which is able to save your souls. James 1:21.
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14.
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He cleans it so that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the Word which I have spoken to you. John 15:1-3.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. Ephesians 5:25-27.
He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Psalm 107:20.
My son, give attention to My Words; incline your ear to My sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them and health to all their body. Proverbs 4:20-22.
“Take to your heart all the Words with which I am warning you today, which you shall command your sons to observe carefully, even all the Words of this law. For it is not an idle word for you; indeed it is your life. And by this Word you will prolong your days in the land, which you are about to cross the Jordan to possess.” Deuteronomy 32:46-47.
Jesus said, “I have given them Your Word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; Your Word is truth.” John 17:14-17.
So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue (abide, remain) in My Word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” John 8:31-32.
You purify and renew your mind only one way: by hearing, meditating upon, speaking, and doing My Word. Faith comes into your heart by hearing and hearing My Word. It becomes written in your heart as you meditate upon it and speak it. And it becomes your lifestyle when you do what My Word says in your own life.
I will help you with this by My Spirit in you and on you, for He will guide you to all truth and remind you of all I have said at just the opportune time. He will warn you when you are violating My Word in thought, speech or action but He cannot do the work for you. It is you who must be interested enough to read, meditate upon, speak, and do My Word. He will help you, but He is your leader, guide, teacher, and helper who will come by your side and help you pull the helm of your life, but He is not your “doer.” That is you.
Some of you, when you pray or are having a pleasant day, are suddenly troubled by various thoughts that are disturbing to you, and, if you let them, will rob you of your peace of mind. They can even make you despair of being pure or make you feel sinful. Dreams are sometimes of this caliber as well. This is all from Satan and the unclean demons, they do not originate in you, but the unclean spirits, whom Adam released into the earth, are looking for a place to lodge and commandeer the generations. Today we are primarily addressing impure thoughts but worry, fear, anxiety, stress, hate, anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, and the like are also impure thoughts that defile a person.
The Word implanted and applied, a washing of water with the Word, will clean (purge) out all these unclean spirits and the thoughts they bring.
For example, if you have a glass with spoiled milk in it, what do you do to cleanse it? You start pouring water in until all the spoiled milk is flushed out. You wash and rinse the glass by immersing it into the water or pouring water in until all the spoiled milk is replaced by pure water. And the more water you pour in the faster it is cleansed. If you immerse it totally in running water it cleanses quickly.
Do you see what I am telling you to do? To not let My Words depart from your sight and keep them in your heart for they are life and health to your spirit, soul, and body. They will make you like Me. Pure, holy, and free of all corruption. If you abide, remain, continue in My Word you will know the truth, and the truth is pure, enduring forever, and the truth will set you free. Free of what? All unclean spirits, all evil, all that would torment, addict, and enslave you. Fear, pornography, sexual immorality, anger, hatred—all these will enslave you, but I created you by My pure Word of truth to be free to rule and reign in life with Me through Jesus, and Jesus is My Word made flesh. And really, in a different way, so are you. For you are made, sustained, maintained, increased, healed, and blessed by My Word.
So what do you do with any unclean, impure thought? Run for the Word and wash it out. Speak the opposite and flood it out. The more Word you get into you, the cleaner you will be. You too can live pure like Me.
See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 1 John 3:1-3.
What am I telling you in this passage? Keep your eyes on Jesus and you will be like Him. But who is Jesus? My Word. Keep your eyes on My Word and fix your hope on My promises to you that are all “yes” in Him. And I AM the LORD who sanctifies you, that is, who makes you pure and holy. But you will notice that you who have this hope fixed on Him are to purify yourself, just as He is pure. Do you remember? He prayed I would sanctify (purify and consecrate, set you apart from evil) by the truth and then told you My Word is truth. And what was the next thing He told you who believe in Him through His Word?
Sanctify them in the truth; Your Word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. John 17:18-21.
So purify yourself just as He is pure by remaining, abiding, continuing in My Word. And Jesus tells you how:
“I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.” John 12:49-50.
The more of My Word you take in, the more of My Word will come out, and the more pure, clean, and happy you will be.
These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. John 15:11.
Live pure and you will be free.
The Words of the LORD are pure words; as silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times. Psalm 12:6.
How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your Word. Psalm 119:9.
Your Word is very pure, therefore Your servant loves it. Psalm 119:140.
Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord. 1 Peter 2:1-3.
Next time the unclean spirits shoot their fiery darts into you mind, just run for the water of the Word and take a plunge right in.
For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:3-7.
Do you see now why the HOLY Spirit in you guides you to all truth? He is making you holy like He is. My Word is truth and the truth will set you FREE. The glorious FREEDOM of the children of God.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:12-14.
I love you. You are pure, there is no other way you can be when My Holy Spirit lives in your born again spirit. So just laugh at the thoughts and take a good drink of the living water of My Word and that should be all it takes to set your mind free into a time of refreshing.
Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17.
