Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. Matthew 6:12.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלוהים) says:
I forgive, but I do it justly. When you sin you hurt yourself, but it does not stop with you. It affects those around you and passes down to the generations and even affects nations. Solomon, David’s son and the third king of Israel, turned to idol worship and built shrines to the “gods” of his foreign wives. And he burnt incense on their altars with his wives. His apostacy caused the entire nation to split and turn to idols. Many of his descendants followed his example and built high places, statues, and shrines to idols. He set off a horrible thing that eventually destroyed Jerusalem and the wonderful Temple Solomon built according to the plans David had received in prayer from Me and which had been funded by David and the heads of the Tribes as well as David’s mighty men. Eventually ten of the twelve tribes were lost because of abandoning Me for the worship of idols.
Little children, guard yourselves from idols. 1 John 5:21.
Sin is a horrible thing. The wages of sin is death. It is lawlessness. It took the beautiful world I made for you and filled it with corruption and death. It took lives filled with light and plunged them into darkness. It took a carefree life of perfect provision and made it into a life of anxiety, fear, painful toil, and lack.
Sin brings sorrow. When sin is received, accepted, and done, as when Judas opened his heart to Satan, it will destroy you. My Word turns your mourning into dancing, sin turns your dancing into mourning.
Sin, even the smallest, is not good preparation for eternity. It will give you eternal death rather than eternal life. And in this world as it is now, sin is rampant and on the rise rather than the decline, for the devil knows his time is short in these last days and he is roaming about looking for someone to devour. Sin devours all that was once beautiful in your life. There is a reason I call the devil the “devourer.” The devil will entice you into sin by the lie of increase through unrighteous conduct and then turn and accuse you of that sin until you give up and end in defeat and the destruction of your dreams.
The devil has a plan to destroy you, but I know the plans I have for you, and they are wonderful beyond all you can ask or imagine. It takes My Spirit to explain them to you, which He does in My Word and in prayer.
And it all begins with forgiveness, for all men since Adam have sinned and separated themselves from eternal life unto eternal death. But I have good news for you! Jesus redeemed you from your sins by His blood. Know this of first importance, Christ died for your sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He preordained us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. Ephesians 1:3-8.
Jesus gave substance to the scapegoat, the burnt offering, the sin offering, the peace offering, and the guilt offering that I gave My people under the Old Covenant to cover their sins on credit until Jesus came and paid with His eternal blood for the eternal life you lost in Adam.
For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near. Hebrews 10:1. Things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. Colossians 2:17.
I transferred all your sins to Him, the sinless One, and transferred His righteousness to you. And divine wrath for sin then fell on Him in your place and consumed all the sin as if it had never been. Justice has been done and you are released from all your sins in My Son. Your sins are not just forgiven they are gone, like the mist in the morning sun, borne by Him who knew no sin but became sin for you all. Jesus, the only Name given among men by which you must be saved. Unless you believe in Him you will die in your sins. You have righteousness by faith.
Understand this, that for justice to be done, My standard is a life for a life, for the eternal life Adam lost, the blood of an eternal life must be shed. The problem was that every person that then was born into the earth was a descendant of Adam and by rejecting My Word of truth by which he had been formed with eternal life in his flesh, he was born again by the perishable seed of a lie to which he submitted and did not resist. Lies die. You cannot build your life on them and live eternally. Lies perish, the truth is forever.
So to satisfy justice and rightly forgive you, I had to find an intercessor with an eternal life to give to atone for the one you had lost, who was willing to die in your place for the wages of sin is death. And there was no one, for all were born from Adam’s perishable seed, for through his actions sin and death entered the world and it became a dark place of sorrows.
But behold! I sent My Son, born from above by the seed of My Word planted in the heart of a virgin mother so that none of Adam’s corrupted seed was in Him. He was flesh of your flesh and bone of your bone but since there was no corruption or perishable seed in Him, He had eternal life in His flesh, in His body, just as Adam had had and lost in the beginning. Adam’s sin corrupted the seed and that is why you must be born again from above by My Word to enter eternal life. Jesus willingly gave that eternal life He had in the flesh for you to pay Me for the one you lost. When He died to sin once for all, you by identification and substitution, died with Him and in Him. And when I raised Him from the dead with all sins gone and atoned for fully, I raised you with Him, born again from above as a new creation in Christ. Adam’s sin corrupted the seed and that is why you must be born again from above by My Word to enter eternal life. Everything is yours in Him. We are reconciled.
In the New Covenant you start at the finish line of the Law- righteous, sanctified, and sinless before Me without reproach. I have recreated you in Christ for the life of good deeds I prepared for you in advance that you might enjoy your life to the full. Jesus came to undo the works of the devil. He came to pay your debts and set you free. He came to release you from your sins by His blood to give back your dominion authority. I forgive you by His blood for His blood paid all of your debts to Me.
When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him. Colossians 2:13-15.
The gift of forgiveness is freely yours in Christ. It was purchased by His blood, for the life is in the blood and it makes atonement for you on the altar. But I caution you, what you have received as a gift, give as a gift. You have received this awesome gift of forgiveness, making it as if you never sinned before Me, and continually cleansing you of all sin and unrighteousness if you just stay in My light and confess your sins as soon as you fail through weakness of the flesh. Jesus death was once for all, but it is an eternal redemption, and the blood continually is cleansing you upon the mercy seat, for Jesus ever lives to make intercession to the uttermost for you as your great High Priest.
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Romans 5:9-11.
And that leads us to the next verse of the prayer My Son taught you. In preparation for eternity, you must include forgiveness for yourself and others. For your entrance depends on it.
Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’” Matthew 6:5-13.
We are looking at this verse today: And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Matthew 6:12. As well as what Jesus warned right after the prayer in His teaching on prayer: For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.” Matthew 6:14-15.
What am I telling you here? In Jesus you are assured of forgiveness. My Holy Spirit testifies to your spirit that you are forgiven and your sins and offenses I remember NO MORE. Hebrews 10:17. But there is a standard by which I must judge, and it is a spiritual law that My Son explained to you very clearly and which I refer to multiple times. And it is this:
Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. Matthew 7:1-2.
I forgive you by the blood of My Son poured out for you. And that is not just an atonement to Me for sin but also to you and for you. Jesus has paid for the sins committed by you against others and others’ sins against you, which are all also against Me.
Think of it as subrogation. I have made you whole for whatever was done against you by the blood of My Son and I have paid your debts to Me, to yourself, to others, and the debts you have against others in My Son you are made whole. But consider this, an insurance company who pays for the damage caused against your person or property by another to make you whole then by subrogation in your shoes, so to speak, goes after the one who caused the damage for payment. Vengeance is Mine. Accept My payment to you, like Joseph, the son of Jacob, did for the sin of his brothers, and let Me take care of the one who hurt you.
When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “What if Joseph bears a grudge against us and pays us back in full for all the wrong which we did to him!” So they sent a message to Joseph, saying, “Your father charged before he died, saying, ‘Thus you shall say to Joseph, “Please forgive, I beg you, the transgression of your brothers and their sin, for they did you wrong.”’ And now, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him. Then his brothers also came and fell down before him and said, “Behold, we are your servants.” But Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in God’s place? As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive. So therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” So he comforted them and spoke kindly to them. Genesis 50:15-21.
I could promote Joseph for he knew how to accept My payment to make him whole for the sin his brothers did against him when they sold him into human slave traffic and thought him dead for sure, at least to his life and dreams. They intended to murder him, but I intended to bless him, for he continued to walk in love with Me and did not entertain any bitterness or vengeance in his heart against them. He let Me take care of it and humble them before him. For many years it seemed all was lost for his future, but he did not falter in his love for Me. I turned it around and made the dreams he had, that his brothers hated, come true.
And I will do the same for you, if you will forgive in your heart and go forward in the great plan I have for your life so that I can work all things together, even those people did to harm you, for the good of you who love Me and pursue My purpose. And My purpose? That all will be saved and come to know the truth.
This life is not the end, it is only a test to see if I can entrust the Kingdom to you and quality you to enter your new and eternal beginning in the Kingdom of light where there is no darkness and no sin. I am looking for the light of My love in your heart.
“I have come to cast fire upon the earth; and how I wish it were already kindled!” Luke 12:49.
Let your light shine and it will attract others out of darkness into My own marvelous light. Be good to and pray for those who maltreat you and I will promote you and, if they come to the light, I can save them! As I did for Joseph and his brothers. And they became a great nation. What could have ended in a horrible tragedy of revenge and bitterness, alienated from Me and one another in bitter angry hearts, breeding murder and resentment, birthed a holy nation because of one man’s determination to forgive and leave behind all the evil that had been done to him.
And the same is true of Christ, from His love and sacrifice, His forgiveness and mercy as His eyes stayed on Me and on you, He prayed for those who rejected Him and killed Him, for He had become your sin offering, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people set apart was born out of darkness into My own marvelous light—My glorious Church. “Forgive them Father, they know not what they do.”
As you pray, “And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.” Matthew 6:12. Think of the things I have just revealed to you and it will take on a whole new light. If you do not forgive others you are telling Me the blood is not enough to make you whole for what they did. And if the blood is not enough for you to forgive, I must apply that standard to your sins as well. For the standard you use must be used back on you.
For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.” Matthew 6:14-15.
It is not I do not want with all My heart to forgive you, I do, for you saw My heart in My Son, and it was pierced through for you. But you will limit Me by your standard of judgment. Do not limit Me in what I can do for you. Learn from Joseph. Learn from Jesus. Learn from Me. The blood is more than enough. And that includes YOU. Many of you have not forgiven yourselves for what you have done and continue to do. It is time you honored what My Son did for you and stop telling Me the blood is not enough to take away that sin you still are focusing on so that you cannot go forward and enjoy Me and your life. Once you repent, return, and confess your sins to Me, and please offer Me the blood of Jesus on your behalf, and then rejoice in so great a Salvation. You are forgiven, but more than forgiven, your sin is gone. I remember it no more. Now go and do the same so I can promote you. I will work justice for you.
I love you. As I did for the Israelites when the Egyptians chased them into the Red Sea, I can do for you. I had a claim against the one who caused the damage which I restored for My people and My people did not have to lift a finger to enforce it. They just had to obey Me with faith and joy.
And He brought forth His people with joy, His chosen ones with joyful songs and a joyful shout. He gave them also the lands of the Gentiles, that they might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor, so that they might keep His statutes and observe His laws. Praise the LORD! Psalm 105:43-45.
And for you, Jesus has repaid you in full for what He did not steal. And His payment was more than enough to give you a beautiful, free, forgiven, and blest life. Let the blood be your standard and it is more than enough. Cover the world with His blood in prayer and watch the blood go to work. It speaks better than the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:24.
This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time. 1 Timothy 2:3-6.
