Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. Matthew 18:18.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
In the last Life Lesson, we talked about the glorious revelation of the Church that came, and always comes, in conjunction with the revelation of Jesus as Messiah. Right after the revelation of Jesus as the Messiah and My Son, Jesus shared with the disciples what that revelation contains—the sacrifice of His Body and Blood for your healing and the forgiveness of all your sins and lawless deeds. The offering of His life to give you back the eternal life you murdered within through sin.
From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day. Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You.” But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s.” Matthew 16:21-23.
It was not until He revealed the Church in the context of Him as the long-awaited Messiah that Jesus began to share the mystery of His sufferings and death, and His resurrection to new life, with His disciples. And in that death and resurrection would come your redemption, justification, and new creation. And then fed on My Word as My little flock in the Church, your mind would be renewed as you began to walk in newness of life in Christ.
It is the revelation of your authority as believers as a corporate body, which in agreement with the Head, can bind and loose on earth what is bound and loosed in the Kingdom of Heaven. This sets forth how to release that enormous power, resurrection power, that is working in you who are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, joining together as the great edifice of the Church, the Body of Christ on earth. For your authority is beyond and higher than earthly authority. For the Body of Christ, the glorious Church, is not only on earth but also in Heaven linked together as one.
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom the whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21.
My Son only teaches binding and loosing and the prayer of agreement within the context of the Church. But if you lift it out of the context of the joining of the members of the Church exercising that power in unity you rob yourself of a spiritual powerhouse that you can not only plug into but also release corporately.
When they had been released, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, it is You who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them, who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said, ‘Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples devise futile things? The kings of the earth took their stand, and the rulers were gathered together against the LORD and against His Messiah.’ For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur. And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence, while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy Child Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness. Acts 4:23-31.
Binding and loosing and the prayer of agreement, indeed the proper functioning of the Body of Christ in all its parts has to do with the linking of the spirits of the members.
People who have a common love, a burning purpose within their hearts, and zeal for the same goal are drawn to one another. People who love My Word recognize that love in the other and are immediately linked in their spirits. Even in the womb, John the Baptist recognized and linked with the Word made flesh in the womb of Mary for he heard that love that had linked her to a commitment to do My Word in her voice as well.
Even though they had never met, Paul recognized and his spirit linked immediately to the believers in Rome who reached out to him when he came as a prisoner to Rome.
At the end of three months we set sail on an Alexandrian ship which had wintered at the island, and which had the Twin Brothers for its figurehead. After we put in at Syracuse, we stayed there for three days. From there we sailed around and arrived at Rhegium, and a day later a south wind sprang up, and on the second day we came to Puteoli. There we found some brethren, and were invited to stay with them for seven days; and thus we came to Rome. And the brethren, when they heard about us, came from there as far as the Market of Appius and Three Inns to meet us; and when Paul saw them, he thanked God and took courage. Acts 28:11-15.
And to walk with Me and hear from Me easily, you must link with Me. Not only your spirit but your soul (mind, will, and emotions) must knit with Mine. I knit you in your mother’s womb as connected and knit with Me, like the seamless robe of Jesus. In Jesus there was a perfect linking between divinity and humanity with no barriers or divisions in the flow. And My love for you manifests in that I sent My Son into the world, not only as propitiation for your sins, but also that you might live through Him in that same seamless flow. 1 John 4:9-10.
I know those who are Mine. There are those that link with Me with no barriers that push Me back. Then there are those who resist Me, they push Me away. They want My benefits such as healing and prosperity but their hearts and minds are far from Me. There is a barrier, and it can be a number of things, but primarily their heart is not right. The love of My Word is not in them.
“Behold, as for the proud one, his soul is not right within him; but the righteous will live by his faith.” Habakkuk 2:4.
And those who do not link with Me will not link with others in the Body of Christ as well. I think you know what I mean. When you meet someone, and your heart is linked with Mine and theirs is as well, immediately you will link as if you had known each other forever. And you will know each other forever. And that link is My Word, My anointed Spirit-breathed Word living in your heart and in their heart.
I show you this in the tabernacle of Moses, in which lies in symbol and shadow all pertaining to the path of Salvation and the mystery of the Church. And here I am speaking of the construction of the Holy of Holies. Standing and surrounding My presence in the Ark of the Covenant, reflecting My glory, are the gold covered boards standing on silver pedestals but the only way they so radiantly stand corporately before Me forming the structure of the very Holy of Holies is the golden rings with inserted gold covered wooden bars that link them together and hold them standing like an immovable wall. Exodus 26:15-30.
All believers are held together by Jesus, who is My Word. He holds everything together by His Word of power. And the more of My Word you treasure in your heart, the more you link with Me and your fellow believers who love My Word, and the less place the devil will have in your life, until he can find no place at all because you are so full of the Holy Spirit.
“In whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:21-22.
And that is when binding and loosing and the prayer of agreement become so powerful that two or three believers gathered in My Name praying in agreement with My Word can move entire nations to the obedience of faith and shake the place where they are praying. Acts 4:31. But you must bind the strong man before you can plunder his house. Mark 3:26-27. You cannot take down Satan and recover all he stole seven times over until you are not allowing him entrance into your house. Guard your heart with all diligence for from it flow the issues of life.
Jesus first mentioned binding and loosing when Peter made the profession of faith that Jesus is the Messiah and My Son. My Son then declared on that the rock of revelation of Him as Messiah and Lord, He would build His church and the gates of hell would not prevail against it. It would be impenetrable by evil. Its walls would be salvation and its gates praise. And then He declared, “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19.
And the church still has those keys and you as members of the church can live under an open Heaven. With those you open and loose blessings that are loosed in Heaven, and are already in your heavenly account, for, in Jesus, I have already blessed you with every spiritual blessing in Heaven. And Jesus also has taken from Satan the keys of death and of Hades. Revelation 1:18. And with these you can bind what is bound in Heaven.
But let us now go to the next conversation, again with His disciples where He speaks of binding and loosing.
“If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every fact may be confirmed. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. Matthew 18:15-18.
Do you know that you as believers and members of the Body of Christ, the Church, are going to judge even the angels?
Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts? Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life? So if you have law courts dealing with matters of this life, do you appoint them as judges who are of no account in the church? 1 Corinthians 6:2-4.
So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained.” John 20:21-23.
For this Life Lesson we will stop here but in the following Lesson I will continue for this is very important for you to know especially when you need to stop Satan in his tracks and take back all he stole. And the good news is that you and your fellow members of the body of Christ, the Church, can do this every time and all the time.
