“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” Mark 16:17-18.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
For you who are in Christ, My Son told you that if you ask Me for anything in His name, that I will give it to you. That when you ask in His name, you will receive, so that your joy would be made full. And He went on to tell you that He did not mean you would be asking Him and He would request it of Me on your behalf but that you would talk to Me directly.
My Word is truth and My Son is My Word and speaks My Word.
You can trust what He said.
But asking in His name does not mean you just append the words “I ask this in Jesus’ Name” to your prayer and I must give you what you ask whether it lines up with My Word or not. Jesus only said the Words I told Him and did the works I showed Him. There is more to this than a magic formula.
What Jesus has done is give you a Power of Attorney. When you ask in His Name you are acting as His attorney-in-fact—He is the principal and you are his agent. The agent, under a Power of Attorney, when it is a general one, is authorized to do anything the principal would do if the principal were present. He can bind the principal to contracts, deeds, purchases, and withdraw from the principal’s bank accounts. But he is only authorized to act within the scope of his agency—which is in the best interests of the principal. A power of attorney is not given so the agent can do anything he pleases whether the principal would authorize it or not. He cannot do things that benefit him and are harmful to his principal. He is a fiduciary who is only authorized to do things that the principal would do if he were present. He is to be about his principal’s business. Blessed be the good and faithful servant who carries out his master’s business, but woe to the one that uses the master’s property to abuse his fellow servants, get drunk, and live a wicked life.
Jesus tells you that you can ask Me in His Name for anything and I will do it. That is because if you are using the authority of Jesus to obtain your request (and I have given Him all authority in Heaven and on earth) Jesus only authorizes that which pleases Me. He only did that which pleased Me and that is all He will ever authorize you to do.
He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. He went about preaching, teaching, and healing.
He was about His Father’s business since He was a child. And that is what you are to be about if you are acting in His name.
You will note therefore that He not only gives you the authority to pray to Me in His Name but also gives you the authority to cast out demons in His name, to lay your hands on the sick so that they recover, and to go to all the nations and make disciples. It is to be about your Father’s business. As I sent Jesus, so He has sent you. And I sent Him to seek out and save the lost. I sent Him so you could know Me. I sent Him to manifest My goodness in your lives. I send My Word to heal you and deliver you from all destruction.
He glorified Me on the earth by accomplishing the work which I gave Him to do. The manifestation of My Glory is the manifestation of My goodness, My presence and My power. Remember when Moses asked to see My Glory? I told him I would make My goodness pass before him.
And I revealed to the prophets that the knowledge of My Glory will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. All men shall see My Glory. And that is My Goodness. All will know My goodness. And that goodness will be manifested as it was through Jesus—in healings, miracles of provision, and wonderful acts of deliverance and salvation. People will be set free from the slavery to sin and death.
Jesus is the Light of the world. No follower of His will ever walk in darkness. No, you will have the light of life. So let your light shine before men so that they may see goodness in your acts and give praise to Me, their heavenly Father, for the good that has come into their lives. A people living in darkness have seen a great light. And you must shine on the world like bright stars offering it the Word of life. And My Son has authorized you to do that and act on His behalf. And He has told you I will give you all you ask for to carry out His mission on earth as you act as His agent clothed in His authority. All who have been baptized into Christ are clothed in Christ.
My Son explained this relationship and why He entrusted His Name to you in His final prayer to Me with His disciples at the Last Supper. And in that prayer He not only prayed for His disciples and authorized them to use His Name but prayed the same for all who would believe in Him by their word. Which includes everyone of you who believe in My Son and have taken Him as your Lord, as your principal and Master. You then are clothed in Him and can release His Name in faith to heal, teach, preach, deliver, and save.
My Son told His disciples that He had manifested My name to the men whom I had given Him out of the world. He gave you the Words that I gave Him and when you receive them and keep them He is glorified in you. When He was about to leave the world to return to Me, Jesus prayed that I would keep through My name those I gave Him that they would be one as He and I are one. While He was with His disciples in the world, He kept them in My name. But when He returned to Me He did not pray that I would take them out of the world, but that I would keep them from the evil one. He asked Me to sanctify them by My truth. My Word is truth. He then stated that just as I sent Him into the world, He also sent His followers into the world. And for your sakes He sanctified Himself, that His followers also may be sanctified by the truth. John 17:
So you are not only protected and authorized in the Name of Jesus but also in My Name. For I have given Him My Name and He has given it to you. In fact, that same night He also told you that He gave you the glory that I had given Him that you may be one, just as We are one.
He has put His goodness and authority into those who have received His Words and in doing that He has connected you with Me and given you the glory that I have given Him. And My glory is My goodness manifested. Will you manifest My Glory in the earth?
You do it in the Name of Jesus and by looking to Me for all you need to carry out His mission which He has now entrusted to you.
