Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness. Psalm 150:2.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
My way is perfect.
As for God, His way is perfect. The Word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. For who is God, except the LORD? And who is a rock, except our God? It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect. Psalm 18:30-32.
All I do is of excellence. Everything I do is abundant. If you look in the night sky, I did not just make one star. In fact, though I have them all counted and call each one by name, neither you nor any of your computers can count them, there are too many for you to contain.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. Great is our Lord (Adonai) and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite. Psalm 147:3-5.
And if you will note, there is not just one kind of flower, there is not just one kind of fruit, there is not just one kind of vegetable, all these things have a vast array of various kinds and categories, all made for you. And no matter how many songs have been composed, there is always a new one. And no matter how many things have been discovered that I have done there is always more to find of My works. And in Heaven there is far more than you have seen on earth.
The songs of David and those of Moses speak of My excellence, greatness, and splendor, and so it is, but today I want to remind you of something people, since Adam, often forget: You are made in My image and according to My likeness. Your works should shine with excellence, greatness, and splendor. I have called you to My own excellence and glory.
How do you tap into excellence? The same way I told Zerubbabel to raise a work of excellence that looked impossible for him to achieve: not by human power or might but by My Spirit.
This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the LORD of hosts. “Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of ‘Grace, grace to it!’ ” Zechariah 4:6-7.
You become a person of excellence by My Spirit in you and on you, for He is an excellent Spirit. You are with Me always and everything I have is yours. I have given you My Spirit, you have the power in you for excellence.
Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm. Daniel 6:3.
The queen spoke, saying, “O king, live forever! Do not let your thoughts trouble you, nor let your countenance change. There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God. And in the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and King Nebuchadnezzar your father—your father the king—made him chief of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers. Inasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles, and explaining enigmas were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar, now let Daniel be called, and he will give the interpretation.” Daniel 5:10-12.
Within you is resurrection power, the power that raised a mangled, broken body so marred it did not even look human to the awesome, breathtaking beauty of the glorified body that My children will have by the redemption of possession, your possession in Christ sealed by My Spirit in you as a pledge to all I have promised you. You have the same Spirit in you that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at My right hand and He will quicken your mortal bodies even now for works of excellence. He teaches you all things, reminds you of all I have said, guides you to all truth, and leads you in the way you should go.
You are beloved, make your way excellent by that power at work in you even now that can do more than all you can ask or imagine. Think BIG, beautiful in Me. You who believe and have My Spirit in your spirit can do the works Jesus did and greater! So do not quench the Spirit and grieve Him by limiting Him.
I took Abraham out and showed him the stars and told him to think that big. He believed and I credited to him as righteousness.
Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever. Daniel 12:3.
I showed Daniel visions of things to come, all the way to the end of time when the world as you know it will be made totally new. Why? Because he was interested, inquired of Me, and was a man of excellence, even in the midst of a pagan nation that tried to stop him from following Me. But they never could but they needed his wisdom and kept promoting him because I showed him favor. And no one can curse the one I have blessed. They can only bless them.
At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved. Daniel 9:23.
How do you become a person of excellence? Even if your life up till now has not been. It all starts in your heart but it does not stay there. It starts in being faithful in little things and moves on to great things.
First, you must want to be a person of excellence, second, you must have faith that I will help you to be that and have given you all you need to be that, and third, you must begin now to replace any idle, evil, malicious, or bitter thoughts with thoughts of excellence. It all begins in your thoughts and what you say, for your actions will be directed by your thoughts and words. So if you want excellence and seem to be very far from it, look at your thoughts and you will find out why your works have fallen short of excellence and make a major shift in your focus. It all starts where you are putting your attention.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8.
And you do this by filling your heart and your mouth with My Word. For My Covenant with you is not just My Spirit in you and on you, but My Words which I have given you to put in your mouth.
“As for Me,” says the LORD, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the LORD, “from this time and forevermore.” Isaiah 59:21.
I think it is now time for us to take a look at what I taught My apostle Peter. He went from fear of men to being the boldest of My apostles and he did great works of excellence. It starts within yourself, but it starts by growing in your knowledge of My grace. And that is what saved Peter after he had denied Me three times from despair and desertion of his calling to excellence. He experience My great grace that I revealed to you in Jesus, you are forgiven legally and totally justified in Him as if you had never sinned. There is nothing dividing us and nothing keeping you from excellence, so it is time, as Peter put it, to set aside your old ways of malice, slander, depression, and evil and like new born babies (no bitter roots in them) proceed to build a beautiful life on the foundation of My Word, take it as pure milk and grow thereby, building virtue upon virtue as you grow in your faith.
Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins. Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble; for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you. 2 Peter 1:1-11.
