I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
The only one that can block you from obtaining eternal life is you. You can be your own worst enemy for what you do not subdue will rule over you.
If you do not spend eternity with Me I will be greatly grieved but it is your own fault and not Mine. I give you every opportunity to receive Jesus. It is as easy as saying “yes.” If today you hear My voice, harden not your heart.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:20.
Only one thing made Jesus angry and that was hard hearts that kept people from joining with Him in works of compassion and healing, which were hard hearts that kept them from being saved, i.e., kept them out of eternal life. Jesus came to seek out and save the lost, He came to take you out of death onto life. He came to give you back the eternal life that Adam lost and undo all the words of the devil. He came to conquer lies with the truth. All you had to do was agree to abundant life.
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling.” Matthew 23:37.
If you do not read My Word, that is your decision. If you mock holy things, that is your decision. If you do not treat others with respect and honor, that is your decision. If you look at impure and perverted things, that is your decision. If you swear, speak in anger, gossip, judge, accuse, shame, blame, are rude, sarcastic, and mean, that is your decision. Death and life are in the power (hand) of your tongue.
You have a mouth for a reason, what do you use it for? You have a mind, what do you think about? You can sing praise, do you? You can pray, talk with Me, get revelation—do you find that important enough to do it? You can have as much of Me as you want. I give the Spirit without measure to those who keep My Word. When you seek Me, you find Me right there with you. Do you ever seek to be with Me? If you draw close to Me, I draw close to you and as close as you are willing to go.
The Ten Commandments, if you notice, address each person individually and personally. The invitation to repent and return is for you personally. Your decision whether to receive Jesus and be born again from above is personal to each person. You cannot decide for someone else.
Judgment is personal to you according to your heart, your deeds, and your responsibility with the talents I have given to you.
I give you your life as a gift that I have entrusted to you to steward in this world unto life eternal. You are accountable for what you do with it. Your primary goal in this world should be to know Me, to acquaint yourself with Me. Why? Eternal life is a relationship with Me and the question is whether you will be faithful to that relationship or not. Do you love Me and desire to spend eternity with Me in the Kingdom?
I want all to know Me from the least to the greatest. My delight is to be with you. There may be a crowd, another may be in the front doing the teaching, but My eye is on you individually. If you invite Me in, I will be in you and you in Me in a constant connection.
You have a responsibility to be humble and listen to Me and to those I send you as mentors along the way. Do not override others when they speak. Conversation is two ways, listen and speak, and that is the way you know each other.
If you want to go deeper in a relationship, such as a marriage, you must abide with one another. Abiding is the deepest relationship and to have it you must seek and want it. It is unbroken companionship that nothing can divide because each is so committed in love to the other.
Now, I think you understand why My Son talked about the abiding life as a vine with its branches. You may think you know this teaching well and have got it, but listen to a new perspective which perhaps you did not think about.
A branch does not get its supply from the vine and then go off on its own to produce fruit. It must stay attached to do its work, getting constant supply and input from the vine.
I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. John 15:5-6.
Many people say they don’t have time to spend with Me, they are too busy with their jobs, families, and their activities, often including listening to secular shows, news, and reading newspapers and magazines that have nothing to grow eternal life or the virtues in you, but that said, think about this: A branch stays attached to the vine all the time. It is never apart from the vine or it will dry up and die with no fruit.
You do not need more time, you just need to be more aware of My presence, for you live in Me and I in you. You can keep up our conversation and fellowship all day and all night because a branch never leaves the vine. It cannot and continue to live. You can do nothing without Me. I am you very life.
When you love Me, you keep (abide in, continue in) My Word, and when you do this I come to make My abode with you, never to leave you or forsake you. You live with Me and I with you.
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me. John 14:23-24.
But let us go further, every branch on the vine is connected to the vine, all at the same time. And each one individually is getting a full supply and blooming without regard to the other branches. Each one is getting just as much as the others, the little new shoot and the oldest branch that has borne more harvests. The only thing that will stop the connection and fruitfulness is if one is cut off the vine. There is plenty for all if you just stay attached.
Do you see? Never be jealous or covetous of another’s position. It does not matter who is up front in the eyes of the world, you are up front before Me. I am constantly speaking to you and listening for your voice. I am looking at you as if you were the only person on earth with respect to My attention. Not a sparrow falls without My consent and you are worth more than a whole flock of sparrows. I have every hair on your head counted. I had the plans that I desired to give you to enjoy before you were even formed in your mother’s womb.
When you know that you are the star with Me, the most important of all, that should bring humility into your heart. You are #1 with Me. You do not need to get ahead with people to the detriment of your integrity and our relationship. Never cut yourself off from Me to gain the world as Adam did and as Satan tried to persuade Jesus to do.
If you are doing what is My Will in your life by keeping My Word then I am listening to you. So what if others do not listen to you and refuse to give you a position of preeminence? If you compose songs of My Word and no one wants them, what is that to you? You are singing them for Me, your audience of one, the only one who will ultimately judge your work. David sang to Me alone on the hillsides as he watched his father’s sheep and later in caves as Saul chased him. Finally, when I made him king, he had the authority to have his lovely songs of praise sung onto to Me day and night without ceasing, employing 288 singers and musicians. 1 Chronicles 25. But still I was the only audience there as the songs were sung unto Me in the tent he pitched that housed the Ark of the Covenant alone. And I protected David and the kingdom for his sake.
His songs, his life, his heart were all directed to Me. But what did I do? For the last three thousand years right to this day, people are reading, singing, and meditating on David’s songs to Me, especially Psalm 23. David at the end of his life called himself the sweet psalmist of Israel and so he was.
These are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse declares, the man who was raised on high declares, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel: “The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, and His word was on my tongue. The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spoke to me, ‘He who rules over men righteously, who rules in the fear of God, is as the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, when the tender grass springs out of the earth, through sunshine after rain.’ Truly is not my house so with God? For He has made an everlasting covenant with me, ordered in all things, and secured; for all my salvation and all my desire, will He not indeed make it grow? But the worthless, every one of them will be thrust away like thorns, because they cannot be taken in hand; but the man who touches them must be armed with iron and the shaft of a spear, and they will be completely burned with fire in their place.” 2 Samuel 23:1-7.
I love you. Abide in My Words and let My Words abide in you for a constant connection of unbroken fellowship so we are never apart, even for the twinkling of an eye. Just attach and it is that simple.
