Do you not know? Have you not heard? Has it not been declared to you from the beginning? Isaiah 40:21.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God besides Me. Isaiah 44:6.
And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, and there will be none after Me. I, even I, am the LORD, and there is no savior besides Me. Isaiah 43:10-11.
Since the generations that followed Adam, people have always been looking for Me, but many never find Me, but it is not because I am unavailable or disinterested. If you seek Me with your heart you will find Me right there with you. And to those who draw close seeking Me with open and generous hearts, I always show them My salvation, yes, Jesus, Yeshuah. For My desire is that all be saved and come to know the truth. And what is the truth? My Word of eternal life.
I taught Abraham the gospel ahead of time, Galatians 3:8, in acting out the offering of Jesus with his own beloved son, Isaac. Before that, I visited him personally with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, at his tent in Mamre, confirming that Sarah would bear the promised child the next year. Abraham had previously encountered the Holy Spirit as My priest, Melchizedek, offering him the bread and wine of the new covenant ahead of time as testimony of what was to come in Jesus. Jesus told you that Abraham saw His day and rejoiced.
Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.” John 8:58.
Jesus told you that Moses wrote about Him, which is seen in the shadows and types of the Passover lamb, the floor plan and design of the tabernacle and sacrifices, the priesthood, the divine calendar of appointed times (moedim), the kinsman redeemer, and so much more. And I told you that Isaiah saw the glory of Jesus and wrote about Him, which is obvious, if you read the book of the prophet Isaiah, in the numerous prophecies and the eyewitness accounts he wrote of the birth, suffering, and death of Jesus beforehand.
David lived as though under the New Covenant for I had revealed Jesus to him, just read Psalm 22 and you will understand what he knew. And he was the inspired writer of Psalm 110 where he speaks of Me (LORD) and of Jesus (Lord) and our relationship when he drank by the brook at the wayside, i.e., humbled himself to empty Himself and become one of you whom I then raised to My right hand and ordained a king and a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
I will always bring those seeking Me to Jesus, for that is the only way to Me so that you come holy, blameless and beyond reproach before Me.
Cornelius said, “Four days ago to this hour, I was praying in my house during the ninth hour; and behold, a man stood before me in shining garments, and he said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God. Therefore send to Joppa and invite Simon, who is also called Peter, to come to you; he is staying at the house of Simon the tanner by the sea.’ So I sent for you immediately, and you have been kind enough to come. Now then, we are all here present before God to hear all that you have been commanded by the Lord.” Acts 10:30-33.
I sent Jesus to seek out and save the lost, to undo the works of the devil, to preach the good news of the Kingdom, to reveal who I am (for in seeing Him you see Me), but above all I sent Him to pay your judgment debt before Me, cleanse you of all sin, satisfy your sentence, and open a new and living way right to the Holy of Holies for you to come to Me any time, all the time, and forever, with nothing divided us, reconciling us in loving fellowship. In Him, I reconciled you to Myself, not counting your sins against you, and I amended and restated My everlasting Covenant of Love, for in Him I create you anew.
I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the LORD, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.” Jeremiah 31:33-34.
From everlasting to everlasting I am God. And I have loved you with an everlasting love. Isn’t it time you got to know Me? I AM the One who is, who was and who is to come. In Jesus, you are seated with Me now in the Spirit and will be with Me forever in spirit and in truth. It all starts with reconciliation in Christ which brings you to glorification of life, eternal life.
In our next life lesson we will look more deeply into My Covenant Name and Covenant promise Names so you will know My Name and in that way know Me better, but today I would like to address what it means to wait upon Me to go higher with Me, because many of you are stuck in a very low level of intimacy with Me and are struggling with your life and this ought not to be for a believer in My Son for He came to bring you life in abundance—till it overflows with goodness, righteousness, joy and peace as you make your home in and with Me constantly.
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:28-31.
I never get weary or tired. All power and strength reside in Me. I never slumber or sleep. And when you passover from life in the world as you know it now to life forever with Me in the Kingdom you will not either. But now in your earthly tent, your spirit is willing but your flesh is weak. But in Jesus, the divine nature joined with humanity, and even though Jesus emptied Himself of His powers as God and became one just like you in all things but sin He knew how to rely upon and be strong in My power in Him to do the works. And He wants to show you how to do the same.
Once He was so weary He fell sound asleep and kept sleeping in a storm at sea that kept all the disciples wide awake. They awoke Him, asking Him if He did not care that they were going to perish. He had not thought of perishing, I had told Him to go to the other side of the lake and so He knew the storm could not stop Him. He took charge, let My power flow through His words, and rebuked it and then questioned the disciples as to where their faith was. It took faith in Me to draw on that authority and power that I have entrusted to you in Me.
Jesus knew how to wait on Me. The worship of relationship, the place of seeing and knowing as you are known by Me.
At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight. All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.” Luke 10:21-22.
Jesus had a very deep degree of fellowship with Me. He called it hearing and seeing.
Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than these, so that you will marvel. For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom He wishes.” John 5:19-21.
He spent a lot of time with Me hearing and seeing what He was to say and do in the assignment of salvation I had appointed and anointed Him to do. And the way He obtained it was in waiting on Me in a relationship of worship, the flow of honor and life between Me and you.
It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God. And when day came, He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them. Luke 6:12-13.
In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there. Simon and his companions searched for Him; they found Him, and said to Him, “Everyone is looking for You.” He said to them, “Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may preach there also; for that is what I came for.” Mark 1:35-38.
And in that fellowship of prayer was worship for a relationship of love brings reverence and awe in the knowing. Read John 17 and you will begin to see waiting upon Me is not a holding still but a seeking of My face.
O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me; and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” John 17:25-26.
And He did it with reverence and awe for in His hands was your eternal life.
“For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.” John 12:49-50.
It was a royal mandate and a sacred duty. And so is your assignment as part of the body of Christ as well.
Waiting on Me is worship in spirit (faith) and truth (My Word) It is hearing and knowing what My direction is in the matter at hand. It takes place in our secret place in the palm of My hand at My throne of grace.
David knew how to wait on Me and he sets it out for you in his psalms (songs) to Me which he sang as he poured out his heart and sought My face.
Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice, and be gracious to me and answer me. When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O LORD, I shall seek.” Psalm 27:7-8.
You seek Me in your heart. And how did he seek My face? That is, communication that is close and intimate, one-to-one. Face to face is a true relationship, not a distance. He, like Moses, wanted to know Me, to see My glory which fills My house.
One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the delightfulness of the LORD and to inquire, ponder, meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD. Psalm 27:4-6.
Waiting on Me is taking time to pursue a relationship with Me that I have invited you to pursue. I want all to know Me from the least to the greatest. Not just to know about Me but to know Me.
“Therefore I have declared that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know. Hear, now, and I will speak; I will ask You, and You instruct me. I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; but now my eye sees You; therefore I retract, and I repent in dust and ashes.” Job 42:3-6.
Do not just talk about Me, talk to Me. When you start addressing Me as “You” and not “Him” you are turning in the right direction—My face.
Waiting on Me is trusting and rejoicing in My love, casting all your care on Me because I care for you, and getting the answers you need just when you need them. It is renewing and reviving and getting My strength into your day and night. And Jesus already explained that to you!
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.
I love you. Come to Me. I give strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might I increase power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for Me will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. I have the life you need to live, just come and ask Me for a drink and I will give you living water that will fill up the well spring in your heart to overflowing. Love gives you joy all the day. And My joy is your strength.
