And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:11-12.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
I am the God of all hope and hope has to do with faith and patience. You obtain the promise you hope for through faith and patience. And on My part, patience has to do with the manner in which I treat you. I am patient in My love and kindness towards you, which also has to do with My gentleness in considering the weakness of your flesh.
Just as a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who revere Him. For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust. Psalm 103:13-14.
Patience is never giving up or giving in but remaining consistent through trials or pressure that come against the result you are hoping for with faith. Patience comes from knowing you have the truth, knowing that you have the right answer that must prevail if you will not give in.
Patience is like a rock solid foundation, a rocky mountain, that nothing can budge. I am called your everlasting rock.
You will keep in perfect peace (shalom, shalom) all whose minds are stayed on You, all whose thoughts are fixed on you, because they trust in You. Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD, the LORD Himself, is the everlasting, eternal Rock. Isaiah 26:3-4.
I am the truth. There is no truth apart from My Word. Every doctrine, every philosophy, every theory, every government, every human institution invented by man that is contrary to and does not line up with My Word is a lie and it will perish.
“So in the present case, I say to you, stay away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or action is of men, it will be overthrown; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them; or else you may even be found fighting against God.” Acts 5:38-39.
To know Me, you must understand that I am patient, extremely patient in many ways. First, I know that ultimately, no matter who fights against Me I will prevail, for I am LORD of all and all life is from Me.
Why are the nations (Gentiles, unbelievers) in an uproar and the peoples devising a vain thing? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers take counsel together against the LORD and against His Messiah, saying, “Let us tear their fetters apart and cast away their cords from us!” He who sits in the heavens laughs, the Lord scoffs at them. Then He will speak to them in His anger and terrify them in His fury, saying, “But as for Me, I have consecrated and installed My King upon Zion, My holy mountain.” Psalm 2:1-6.
The devil has continually sought to prevail against Me by using My principles of successful operation by speaking and declaring to bring things into being, but his are lies against the truth, and all lies will perish and cannot prevail.
“How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn (Helel, Lucifer). You have been cut down to the earth, you who have weakened the nations! But you said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, and I will sit on the mount of assembly in the recesses of the north. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ “Nevertheless you will be thrust down to Sheol, to the recesses of the pit.” Isaiah 14:12-15.
But despite the folly of his lies, he has persuaded many to follow his counsel and thus become captive to him to do evil and to finally destroy themselves. It all began with the first man and woman.
The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. 2 Timothy 2:24-26.
I am very slow to anger, in fact, for you who are in Covenant with Me through and in Jesus, I have sworn never to be angry again.
“For this is like the days of Noah to Me, when I swore that the waters of Noah would not flood the earth again; so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you nor will I rebuke you. For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken,” Says the LORD who has compassion on you.
I am quick to respond in goodness, I am quick to respond to those who call on Me in truth, but very slow to respond to those who mock and accuse Me of evil intent. Why? I do not want any to perish but all to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. I did not go to so much pain and sacrifice for you in Jesus so as to lose you to the foolish wiles of the devil. And My anger is not like man’s anger.
This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. James 1:19-20.
Mine is the execution of divine justice on those who have so aligned with evil that there is not even the smallest glimmer, not even a smoldering wick, of love in their hearts. On the last day when everything has been settled in every heart is when I will give the sentence of eternal death to those who have totally killed any life within them and have attempted to do so in others.
And the nations were enraged, and Your wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to reward Your bond-servants the prophets and the saints and those who fear Your name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth. Revelation 11:18.
On your part, patience is a relentless determination to enforce the promises in My Word no matter how long it takes and no matter what the obstacles. I do this and you can as well.
Patience is not passive. It is aggressive. You can hasten what you are looking for by faith and patience. 2 Peter 3:11-13. Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done My will, you may receive what was promised. For yet in a very little while, Jesus who is coming will come, and will not delay. But My righteous one shall live by faith; and if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him. Do not be of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul. Hebrews 10:35-39. It takes patience to have victory. Patience won’t quit.
Jesus told you that when the Holy Spirit comes upon you that you are clothed in power from on high. To be patient takes strength for in it is the power to stand against the enemy. And with My Spirit in and on you it is not by human power or strength, but by My Spirit, the greater one in you. So be strong in Me and in the strength of My might, draw up strength like the branch from the vine. That is why I tell you that if you are weak you must say “I am strong.” And also to gain strength in adversity is to repeat the first line of Psalm 18, “I love you, O LORD, my strength.” And put your roots in that and draw up My strength into your soul. And you can use other such Scriptures. My Words give you life and health. Put them to work.
And be sure to understand My armor that I give you and put it on in the spirit so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For your struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. And if you give in to them they will take you down. Therefore, take up My full armor that I give you so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to STAND firm. Patience is standing firm in the face of the schemes of the devil. So how do you stand firm? Use My Word not just when you are attacked but be girded in it and ready at all times. When Nehemiah was supervising the rebuilding of the ruined walls and gates of Jerusalem; because they were not sure when the enemies would sneak in and attack, they kept their working clothes on day and night, and worked with one hand while they carried a sword in the other, and they carried a sword even when they went to drink water, and they set up a guard day and night. Nehemiah 4:9;17-23.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23.
Patience is in the list of the fruit of the Spirit, so you know it is My nature and character to be patient. I am patient for it is not My desire that anyone perish but that all come to repentance and be saved.
But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:8-9.
I am slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness and truth. I am faithful to you and I am patient with you. The parable Jesus told of the prodigal son is also a parable of patience. The father was patient in waiting for the son to come to his right mind and repent. The father never gave up on the son and kept everything ready for his return. And he was watching and ready to run to meet him the minute the boy’s heart turned back to the father. I am ready and watching for your return. Your place at the wedding feast is reserved.
I love you. Patience results in kindness, being calm and without anger or malice. Patience focuses you on the goal and keeps you on course. I have never given up on mankind no matter how much you refuse My invitations to come to Me and walk with Me in love. I do not give up on you and I have sworn, since the death of Jesus who took all your sins on Himself and bore the divine wrath for them, never to be angry with you again. Isaiah 54:9.
