Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD and whose trust is the LORD. For he will be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit. Jeremiah 17:7-8.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

Do not waste today looking for tomorrow. Life is made up of seasons and you need to operate in the moment of what you are to do NOW.

And working together with Him, we also urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain, for He says, “At the acceptable time I listened to you, and on the day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is “the acceptable time,” behold, now is “the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:1-2.

Every moment is important in building the edifice of your life. Thoughts, words, and actions are the building blocks of your life story. It can be for idle pursuits or for the true and ultimate glory. It is all up to you.

Words are so important to Me and to you that I tell you that you will be held accountable for every idle word you speak.

But I tell you that every idle [argos (ἀργός): idle, lazy, ineffective, fruitless—literally “without work”] word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified (accounted righteous), and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:36-37.

This should be earth shaking and an awakening for you if you want to run your race with joy and reach the finish line with full reward.

I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. John 17:4-5.

There are three things you must watch for in your thoughts, words, and actions and I want you to take these to heart to monitor your thoughts, words, and actions: (i) Precision (in the purpose of your thoughts, words, and actions); (ii) Inclusion (do not miss any of the instructions I have given you for your life); and (iii) Exclusion (of all that would hinder your fellowship and focus on Me and your anointing).

Now I will ask you our first question: Do you monitor your thoughts?

Most people do not and that is where the trouble begins. The devil tries, and is very willing, to do your thinking for you but he is a liar and a murderer from the beginning and that is why there are so many liars and murderers. They have opted to let the devil do their thinking for them and they trot along to his tune.

But it should not be that way with you who have My Word as a light to your path and a lamp to  your feet. My thoughts are higher than your thoughts because of Adam’s fall from spirit to flesh but I share them with you to raise you up to the level of godly thoughts and I have put My Words in your mouth and given you My Spirit of which to drink. Do not spit out My Words and refuse to drink. Eat the scroll of My Word and draw water from the springs of Salvation (Yeshuah).

Then He said to me, “Son of man, eat what you find; eat this scroll, and go, speak to the house of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and He fed me this scroll. He said to me, “Son of man, feed your stomach and fill your body with this scroll which I am giving you.” Then I ate it, and it was sweet as honey in my mouth. Then He said to me, “Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them.” Ezekiel 3:1-4.

“Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; for the LORD God is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation.” Therefore you will joyously draw water from the springs of salvation. Isaiah 12:2-3.

With respect to your thoughts, you must monitor them, for as a man thinks in his heart so is he. With respect to your words you must use them as I do, as tools to build with and as seeds to sow and grow. You must learn when to speak and what to say that will give you the result you long for in your life each and every day. With respect to your actions, you must pay attention to why you are doing what you are doing and do not function by former bad habits or rote. You must learn to be led by the Holy Spirit in all you think, say, and do. Watch out for wandering thoughts and aimless words just to fill in a gap. Your words are arrows that should be aimed at the desired mark, not randomly shot. And remember you are doing this with precision, inclusion, and exclusion.

So today let us begin with monitoring your thoughts. Monitoring and controlling your thoughts according to the truth of My Word and who you are in Christ brings happiness, peace, and stability into your life.

I know your thoughts from afar so please allow Me to help you with this.

O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thoughts from afar. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, and are intimately acquainted with all my ways. Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold, O LORD, You know the whole of it. Psalm 139:1-4.

Monitoring your thoughts is a matter of where you are putting your attention and your intention in putting it there. You can direct your attention by your intention for your life.

And the first thing you must do is to know your position to get the correct vision. You need to see the big picture of your life from your position above, seated with Christ at My right hand, with full access to revelation of the present circumstances so that you know how to target the result you want in any given situation. That is receiving grace (My life and skill in you) just when you need it.

And as a lesson in how to monitor your thoughts we are beginning at the very first Psalm My Spirit imparted to mankind. So turn to Psalm 1 and let us draw the treasure up for your revelation, impartation, and application. It is only six verses but it is packed full of wisdom.

It begins by telling you how to be blessed in your life and all you do:

How blessed (esher (אֶשֶׁר), which means happy, satisfied, filled with good, a state of blessedness in you and your life)is the man who:

And what follows is how to make your life happy, satisfied, filled with goodness which all lead to fruitfulness that endures.

  1. Does not walk in the counsel of the wicked (rasha (רָשְׁע): wicked, evil, guilty). Psalm 1:1.

This is speaking of your lifestyle and whether you are following My Words or those of the godless. If you are walking in bitterness, offense, anger, unforgiveness, and/or resentment against yourself or others you may not think of this as wicked but it is evil to the core and will cut your life short and destroy your destiny. Watch these when they rise up in you and immediately cast them out and pray for the ones who have offended you and repent of not believing in My total forgiveness by the blood of Jesus poured out for you.

This is also speaking of following an immoral or perverted lifestyle because today counsel to do these things is rampant and leads many young people who have not been taught the truth of My Word to follow these lies and ruin their lives and the lives of those they foster or produce in sexual immorality and perversion that destroys their health and that of their partners in this evil. These are filling the family court seeking temporary restraining orders and child support, swearing and cursing at one another who they once “loved.” This immorality and perversion is even taught in the schools and government today. My Word can clean up all these things, get it out there! Preach the Kingdom and the gospel of salvation in season and out of season. Bring an awakening in your life and in your nation to the springs of salvation.

Counsel to commit abortions or euthanasia and the like are abominable to Me and are murder and should be to you as well. Choose life that you and your descendants may live. Watch that  you not be swept away by the hidden agenda of those who would wipe out the younger and older generations. Learn to love, cherish, and protect your life and your health by living according to My Words, they are life to those who find them and health to all your flesh.

Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth and put devious speech far from you. Let your eyes look directly ahead and let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you. Watch the path of your feet and all your ways will be established. Do not turn to the right nor to the left; turn your foot from evil. Proverbs 4:23-27.

  1. Does not stand in the path of sinners. Psalm 1:1.

Never take your stand with sinners. Sinners are those who are not born again from above and are intent on the path of the flesh only. Sinners are hostile to Me. They resist love and goodness. They hate and desire revenge (if you have been doing that take down those thoughts they will  not end you with a good end). Vengeance is Mine for I know hearts and administer justice in the light of My mercy giving room to repent. I want no one to perish but to repent and return.

And the mindset of the flesh is death and will lead you there. Do not stand on the principles of abortion, euthanasia, immoral sexual unions, lusts, addictions, gluttony, slander, gossip, the evil tongue that tells facts that ruin reputations even if true to those who have no need to know, it is time to put a control on where you stand. And you can do this because self-control is in the fruit of the Spirit which is produced in you when you are born again from above. Do not cut off the production of the fruit in you by stopping the flow of grace into your heart with your bitter roots and hateful ways. Remember Korah, Dathan and Abiram?

Then Moses arose and went to Dathan and Abiram, with the elders of Israel following him, and he spoke to the congregation, saying, “Depart now from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing that belongs to them, or you will be swept away in all their sin.” So they got back from around the dwellings of Korah, Dathan and Abiram . . . As he finished speaking all these words, the ground that was under them split open; and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men who belonged to Korah with their possessions. So they and all that belonged to them went down alive to hell; and the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly. N3.umbers 16:25-27, 31-33.

Even if it is a beloved family member do not stand with them and defend and accept their sins. You must save them from the fire that is consuming their fruit and their life. If you love as I do you desire their salvation.

  1. Who does not “sit in the seat of scoffers (luts (לוּץ): to scoff, to mock, to deride).” Psalm 1:1.

The “scoffer” is the one who turns truth and righteousness into an object of derision through verbal contempt, but also a settled attitude that resists correction, undermines authority, and fosters rebellion against My Word and My purpose and plans. Scoffers are not teachable. They belittle holy things and mock godly ways. They are proud that they know more than Me. They are enlightened like Adam and Eve were by the devil. And you know where that went.

The devil is a mocker and scoffer and will draw you in as well for it makes one feel superior and in control. But it is a deception. The scoffer and mocker is attractive to young people because it makes them feel like they are taking advantage of their elders and those in authority over them but that is a tactic of the devil to ruin their ability to learn and become the righteous, wise, and skilled people I made them to be.

Scoffers and mockers often attack those they are jealous of, especially when they find them in what appears to be a weaker condition, as the priests, scribes and Pharisees did to Jesus on the Cross. Woe to those who do it. Do not waste your time sitting and conversing with them or they will draw you into their “superior” stance and godless ways. Beware of scoffers for you know what spirit they are of and it is not Mine. It is one that I did not give you and you should not be sitting with him.

That is enough for today’s Life Lesson on monitoring your thoughts but in the next Life Lesson, I will continue to verses 2 and 3 of Psalm 1 to show you the great benefit of directing your thoughts to My Words. It is far superior to any fleeting joy you have out of following the way of the wicked. Hebrews 11:25. There is a path that seems right to a man that ends in death.

The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish. There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. Proverbs 14:11-12.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise wins souls. Proverbs 11:30.

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, watching the evil and the good. A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but perversion in it crushes the spirit. Proverbs 15:3-4.

I love you and that is why I am teaching you about thoughts, words, and actions as the building blocks of your life so you do not end up with an idle life of unfruitfulness but a fruitful life filled with eternal glory, for that is what I planned for you from the start. Taste and see My goodness and you will know the path to life, fullness of joy in My presence and the delights at My right hand forever. And that is what this series is all about: You living the abundant, blessed life that Jesus came to give you, a life filled with righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. My kind of life for that is who you are. You are Mine and I am yours. Until you know and enter that relationship of oneness you will not be complete.
