But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers. Psalm 1:2-3.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Remember, every moment is important in building the edifice of your life. Thoughts, words, and actions are the building blocks of your life story. It can be for idle pursuits or for the true and ultimate glory. It is all up to you to monitor all three with precision in the purpose of your thoughts, words, and actions, the inclusion of all the instructions I have revealed to you for the assignments for your life, and the exclusion of all that would hinder your fellowship and focus on Me and your anointing, which has to do with your calling.
In our prior life lesson I began to teach you from My Word how to monitor your thoughts by studying the first verse of Psalm 1. Today we will continue where we lift off.
Use My Word as a light to your path and a lamp to your feet.
Remember that monitoring your thoughts is a matter of where you are putting your attention and your intention in putting it there. You can direct your attention by your intention for your life.
And always direct your mind above where I have seated you with Christ at My right hand, with full access to revelation of the present circumstances so that you know how to target the result you want in any given situation.
Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4.
Now let us turn to Psalm 1. As you recall, it begins by telling you how to be blessed in your life and all you do. So we covered the first part that told you what you should NOT do to be blessed. And essentially it was about who you fellowship with and whose counsel you follow. Don’t give your ear to the counsel of the wicked (those who are hostile to My Words and live only according to the flesh), don’t take your stand with sinners (you are now a child of the light and they are of the darkness), and do not sit with scoffers, lest you take up their cleverly phrased rebellious thoughts.
So what do you do instead of those things with your mind to monitor your thoughts and have a fruitful life of peace in your soul and no regrets? You do not delight in evil but in My Word for in My Word are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge and they are sweeter than honey dripping from the comb. Psalm 19:10.

Meditate is to ponder. Remember Mary, My highly favored daughter, chosen mother of Jesus, pondered things constantly in her heart. She treasured My Word and wanted only to do whatever I told her. She kept her thoughts on Me through everything and that was her strength, even at the Cross. She knew My Word well.
The word you see translated “law” in this passage, and in many others, is the word “Torah (תּוֹרָה).” It is referred to as the writings of Moses, which includes the first five books of the Bible and some of the Psalms. I revealed to Moses by My Spirit, the first written account of the creation of the world and its surrounding universe, the fall of Adam and the lives of the patriarchs, Abraham, Issac and Jacob. Without the Torah you would not know, without direct divine inspiration and vision, the life of Noah or any of the events in the beginning that explain what is happening now. And I am the One who wrote the first part of it on Mt. Sinai with My finger (the Holy Spirit) on two stone tablets.
תּוֹרָה designates divine instruction that comes from Me that guides you, as My covenant people, in successful and prosperous living. It calls for study and meditation until your thoughts become as Mine. But instruction did not stop with the first five books of the Bible, it continued on in the prophets, kings, and priests, and now you have the full revelation of My Word in Jesus whom I tell you is your only teacher. Torah to Me is the entire Bible and not just limited to the first five books. Moses wrote about Jesus in shadows and types but he knew of the Messiah. I revealed the fall of Adam and My prophecy of the seed of the woman to him, do you think I did not show him Jesus? When you cling to Me in love and know My name I show you My Salvation (Yeshuah, Jesus).
Jesus did not come to abolish the Torah or the books of the Prophets but to fulfill them. Not even the smallest letter will pass away until it all comes true. My Word is established forever in Heaven. And you should be like the wise scribe who studies the Old and the New. It is all one Book that is totally consistent though it has many human authors but only one divine author, the Holy Spirit, for the entire Bible is breathed by Me.
All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-27.
And that is a very good description of what I mean by Torah. It equips you by giving you the right thoughts and Words to succeed, prosper, and be in good health even as your soul prospers by walking in the truth. I teach you to profit and the way you should go but most ignore My teachings.
Your thoughts must be in line with the truth and not with lies to have a blessed life free from the curse of the law of sin and death. The Torah holds the law of life and is likened to the tree of life.
Do you delight in My Word? My Word is spirit and life and contains eternal life. There is power in My Words, they sustain the universe and hold everything together on the earth and in the heavens. It is the keeping power of My Word that puts a shield of My good will around you. Truth is your shield and buckler. When you find My Words you find life and healing for all your flesh.
Reading and speaking My Word as you go deeper into revelation in the Spirit is meditation. It is living My Word within you by putting it into your mind and chewing on it until it goes down into your heart and writes My Word on the tablet of your heart as your way of living.
My son, keep My Words and treasure My commandments within you. Keep My commandments and live, and My teaching (Torah) as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart. Proverbs 7:1-3.
If you delight in Me, you delight in My Word, for I am My Word and My Word took flesh and dwelt among you. In My presence is fullness of joy.
Have you ever noticed how when you are in a dark place if you open and read My Word it lights your spirit with joy? My Words are comfort, My Words revive your spirits, My Words are your very life and the core of your being for you were formed by My Word and My hands as One like myself. When you need healing or deliverance from destruction, I send you My Word and if you will let that Word plant in your heart it has the power to save your souls.
Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. James 1:21.
As you meditate on My Word it goes to work in you as food for your spirit, soul, and body.
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12.
The counsel I gave Joshua by which he conquered the Promised Land and had all My magnificent promises fulfilled before his eyes still holds for the life of the overcomer:
This book of the law (Torah) shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. Joshua 1:8.
And Joshua became so much like Me he even commanded the sun to stand still and it obeyed his voice. And all he had were the first five books of the Bible that he had actively participated in and written down as the servant of Moses. In every revelation I gave Moses, Joshua had come along too. And he was one of the only two that had the faith to go into the Promised Land. And My Word renewed his youth so that the age of eighty he was stronger than he had been forty years earlier when he tried to make his fellow Israelites enter the Promised Land. But they would not. They tried to stone him, but I shielded him and Caleb.
The word used in Hebrew for meditate is “hagah (הָגָה),” which means to meditate, ponder, mutter, murmur, and make sounds such as groaning. It is active and not passive, getting to the meat of the Word in the Spirit, hence today you know it as tongues and interpretation of tongues. Pondering the Word in your spirit and in your understanding. Hagah is a verb, the noun form is Hegeh and in modern Hebrew it means the steering wheel of a car. Appropriate. What you think on steers your life.

Here is the result of all the verses we have studied today and in the last Life Lesson from Psalm 1. You get firmly planted, rooted and grounded in an unending livestream of revelation from My throne of grace. You learn how to flow with the Holy Spirit as your leader and guide.
You must intentionally plant yourself by the living stream to receive an unending flow of fresh revelation each moment. You must stay in the flow of My thoughts in every arena of life to go higher and have joy. Staying in My presence and planting in My house gives you access to drink from the river of delights.
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; and You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light. Psalm 36:7-9.
In the glimpse I give you into the heavenly Jerusalem in the book of Revelation you see the crystal clear river of the water of life coming from My throne and of the Lamb down the middle of its street with the tree of life on either side of the river bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Revelation 22:1-2.
The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, he will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still yield fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap and very green. Psalm 92:12-13.
Jesus, your good Shepherd, leads you to the water of life wherein there is fullness of joy and I wipe every tear from your eyes.
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy dwelling places of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. Psalm 46:4-5.
There is a river in My city whose streams go to My holy dwelling places. You are My holy dwelling places for I have poured My love into your hearts by the gift of the Holy Spirit and out of you these streams flow into the earth.
Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. John 7:37-39.
This Jesus God raised up again, to which we are all witnesses. Therefore having been exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He has poured forth this which you both see and hear. Acts 2:32-33.
Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” She said to Him, “Lord, You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep; where then do You get that living water? You are not greater than our father Jacob, are You, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself and his sons and his cattle?” Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” John 4:10-14.
With joy you will draw water from the springs of Salvation (Yeshuah), and that is meditation, drawing up from the unfathomable riches of Christ as you drink ever deeper of My Word of truth from the wells of love, for I am love, and that is what flows in the river of life. Love overcomes all evil. Love overcomes death. Love gives you joy all day, bubbling up higher and higher, leaping to eternal life.
As the river flows from My throne do not be content with just sticking your toe in, or just going ankle deep, don’t even be satisfied with knee or waist deep, jump in and be carried along with the flow until you are so filled with My Word and My Spirit that you overflow with the streams coming out of your innermost being to give drink to a thirsty world. Let Me fill up your cup till it overflows!
And then Psalm 1 gives you a description of the idle lives of the wicked in comparison to the one whose mind and heart are filled with My Word.
The wicked are not so, but they are like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. Psalm 1:4-6.
Do not walk in the counsel of the wicked, they waste their lives and will try to waste yours as well. They are like chaff, no grain, no fruit, no lasting works that bless every family on earth. Idle, no substance, fruitless, barren of good, no legacy of honor. They have nothing but wood, hay and stubble to show at judgment. No gold or jewels in the edifice they built for their lives. They buried the talents, dreams and assignments I planned for them that they would have so enjoyed but they missed them all. Be careful who you listen to and what you hear. Redeem the time because the days are evil. But you can shine in My light.
To monitor your thoughts you must keep them in the Light. I know your thoughts from afar and before a word in on your tongue I know the whole of it so keep it in the Light. If you have to hide what you are thinking upon from others because it would hurt them if they knew that indicates it is of the dark for love never harms the neighbor with evil tongue or thoughts. I am Light, I have nothing to hide. There is no darkness in Me. I am righteous and all I do is just. But equal to My majesty is the mercy that I show. But I do it justly. I accounted all your sins to Christ and He paid your judgment and satisfied your sentence so I forgive you justly.
This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:5-7.
Do not allow thoughts, words, or actions that you could not show to the whole world.
But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known. Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed upon the housetops. Luke 12:2-3.
The hidden will be revealed and brought to light. Let it be something you are happy to show. You will find no fault, hate, or derision in Me. I have made you holy, blameless and beyond reproach before Me by the blood of the Cross. Stay in that light, abide in My love continually and you will not sin.
If all you thought, said, and did today was broadcast from the housetops and all brought out into the light, would it be beautiful things that would edify others? Or would it be shameful?
I have qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. Colossians 1:11-12. I have rescued you from the realm of darkness and transferred you to the Kingdom of My Beloved Son in whom you have redemption, the forgiveness of your sins. I have brought you out of darkness into My own marvelous Light and made you to be a Kingdom, priests unto Me. Walk in the light for I have made you children of Light you have no business going back into the darkness, even in your thoughts that you suppose no one sees. But let Me ask you again, could you expose your thoughts to the people you live with, work with, and around you and still have fellowship with them?
“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God.” John 3:19-21.
I love you. Watch your thoughts so that you stay in the Light. If you have not been repent and come to Me to get washed in My Word and cleansed by Light.
If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:8-9.
You were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), proving what is pleasing to the Lord. Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. Ephesians 5:9-13.
