Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Beautiful words make a beautiful life. Ugly words make an ugly life. Your words matter tremendously. They deal death or they deal life. It is time to apply precision, inclusion and exclusion in what you speak.
How do you monitor and control your tongue? Only one way. By the Holy Spirit in you and on you. There is no other way a person can control his or her tongue.
See how great a forest is set aflame by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell. For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and creatures of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race. But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God; from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way. 11 Does a fountain send out from the same opening both fresh and bitter water? Can a fig tree, my brethren, produce olives, or a vine produce figs? Nor can salt water produce fresh. James 3:5-12.
Just as controlling your thoughts is a matter of where you are putting your attention and what your intention is in putting it there, your words are controlled by what you are hearing, what you are actively listening to and taking in. You should be discerning because faith comes by what you are hearing. Make sure you are hearing My Word and not straying after a different shepherd. My sheep hear My voice. I know them and they follow Me.
Every day you have a choice. And the choice you make each day determines the quality of life you will live for time and eternity.
I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. And it is up to you whether you choose life and the blessing, or death and the curse.
It should not be a difficult or complicated decision. You would think everyone would want life and prosperity. But My Son tells you that the road leading to death and destruction is wide and many are on it whereas the way that leads to life is narrow and few find it.
Please give Me joy by choosing life so that you and your descendants may live.
Why is it so few are making the right choice each day? It is because they do not watch their words. They just let loose and say whatever they feel at the moment, whether it is good or bad, pure or obscene, noble or vulgar, appropriate or in poor taste. Most give their tongue free reign to anger, insult, complaint, grief, fear, jealousy, malicious slander, judging others, and gossip. The one who guards his mouth preserves his life; the one who opens wide his lips comes to ruin. Proverbs 13:3.
You will be judged for every idle, vain word you speak. By your words you are acquitted and by your words you are condemned. You judge yourself by your own words.
I tell you in My Word that the choice you make each day is governed by your tongue. Life and death are in the power of your tongue. Proverbs 18:21. You reap the consequences of what you say. Cruel, angry, and bitter Words are like arrows, they can kill. Psalm 64:3. The mouths of fools are their undoing, and their lips are a snare to their very lives. Proverbs 18:7. But My Words bring life and peace. My Words edify and never tear down. I am the God of all comfort. My Words are truth. My mouth is all sweetness. My Words are sweeter than honey from the comb and they give light to your path.
If you want life and blessing then make sure your words are words of life and not death. For as you decree, so is it in your life.
My Words are spirit and life.
Jesus only said My Words and never His own. Do you see why now? I have the Words of eternal life. And I speak the end from the beginning and when you listen to Me, you can too.
Yesm I share My Words with you so that you too can say My Words. You have a whole Book of them. And if you say My Words, then you will get My results.
Imitate Me as My dear children and walk in love. And what is the evidence of your love? What you say, for the mouth speaks from the heart’s abundance.
What do you remember most about people in your life? What they said to you. And if it was cruel, even once, you remember that more than anything else about them. Life and death are in the power of your tongue.
Follow Me, love Me with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, listen to My voice, and hold fast to Me for I am your life, and I will give you many years of a fruitful and satisfying life. Deuteronomy 30:20. You do not love Me if you do not keep My Words. John 14:21, 23.
You choose life by keeping My commands and walking in obedience to My Word. Then you will live and increase, and I, the LORD your God, will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. Deuteronomy 30:15-16.
I made you. I know you. I made everything there is. I know how it all works best. That is why My Words give life. I made everything by My Word and I sustain and run everything by My Word. My Words give power and life. They are living and active. It is not burdensome to keep My commands for they give you love, joy and peace. There is no peace for the wicked but great is the peace of those whose minds are fixed on Me. You can rest in and put pressure on My Word and I will perform it in your life.
That is why if My Words remain in you and you remain in them, you may ask what you will and it will be done for you.
I give you so much instruction about your words in the Bible that you really have no excuse for being ignorant in this area. It is a principle I have elaborated on since the beginning but which I codified with Moses and My people Israel. I have spoken it through the prophets. And Jesus Himself told you this quite plainly. And then Paul carried on with it, as did James, Peter, and John.
It is time you really got serious about monitoring your thoughts and your words. I cannot stress to you enough how every serious this is. Life and death are in the power of your tongue and you will eat the fruit of your lips. No matter how you feel about things there is no other way for you to choose a life of blessing and increase or of curse and destruction than by the words that you say, repeat, and believe in your heart. They can kill you and they can save you.
And it is within your control.
The mouth speaks whatever fills your heart, for the mouth speaks from the heart’s abundance. If something is on your mind enough you will speak it out, whether it is ugly or beautiful. What is in your heart will finally erupt. That is for sure.
So the key is to only allow your mind to dwell on thoughts that are life giving rather than those which are death dealing. It has to do with your imagination and your observation. It is where you focus your attention. It requires major mind renewal so that you walk by faith and not merely by sight. That you look beyond where you are to the future of hope I have prepared for you. That you refuse to fear poverty and death even when it looks like all you have is lost and you are too old to recover it. Refuse to give in to fear and negative emotions and look to the joy ahead. And speak it.
Death dealing thoughts include thoughts of fear, uncertainty, confusion, inferiority, doubt, offense, anger, bitterness, lust, lying, sadness, grief, hopelessness, anxiety, jealousy, and the like. There is a devilish wisdom that brings strife and evil behavior.
Make it a rule to let no corrupt communication proceed from your mouth. Corrupt is tending toward death. It is negative, failure, fearful talk or malicious, obscene, perverted talk. Instead speak what is edifying and encouraging to yourself and those who hear you. You can drive yourself into despair or into joyful hope and you can do the same to others around you.
Words are powerful. They shape your life. Remember that next time you just want to “vent.” That is the wide road that leads to death.
Make a decision to let your mouth help you and not destroy you. Please get very serious about this. If you control your words you control your entire body. Your tongue is the steering wheel of your life. My servant James under the inspiration of My Spirit described the tongue as being like the rudder on the boat or the bit in the horse’s mouth.
Take seriously the Words I spoke to Joshua so long ago. They are just as important and true today as they were then. I told him how to prosper and succeed in all he did. And it is still the same: Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will make your way prosperous and successful.
Keep My Word before you. Focus on it constantly and then when the trials come you will be able to stand strong in Me against them and speak only bold words of faith and triumph. And you will see them come to pass for I watch over My Word to perform it and My angels respond to My Words to perform them also.
Be like David and in the midst of loss and darkness encourage yourself with My Word and you will come out better than you went into the trial. Job did. David did. Daniel did. Ruth did. And you can too.
Never give up. The just man shall live by faith and if he draws back I take no pleasure in Him. For I want to reward you. Never give up on My Word. It will come to pass.
Faith activates My power. The power to heal was present when Jesus was teaching a room full of Pharisees but the only one that got healed was that man with the friends that let him down through the roof to where Jesus was standing. Faith activates the healing power as well as provision and all My other promises. The power is there but it is your voice raised in faith that activates it to go to work.
It all begins with where you let your thoughts take you. They can take you down or up and it all depends on what you look at. See only with the eyes of faith. But to do that you have to know My Word. Read, meditate, hear and speak My Word, it is the best decision you will ever make. It is the decision for life.
To whom can you go? I have the Words of eternal life. No one else does. And eternal life is in My Son.
