In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

There are those that are thirsty for knowing Me.

As the deer longs for the water brooks, so my soul longs for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; when shall I come and see the face of God? Psalm 42:1-2.

Their heart cry to Me is, “I want to know you!” But they wonder, and rightly so, “How can you know the eternal awesome everlasting God who made all things and who gave us life, breath, and being?”

He Himself gives to all life and breath and all things; and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being. Acts 17:25-28.

How did I make you? By My Word. And who am I? I am My Word.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it. . . And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. . . No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained (ἐξηγέομαι) Him. John 1:1-5, 14, 18.

Note: eksēgéomai (from ek, “completely out of from” intensifying hēgéomai, “to lead by showing priority”) – properly, lead out completely (thoroughly bring forth), i.e. explain (narrate) in a way that clarifies what is uppermost (has priority). Eksēgéomai is the root of the English terms, “exegesis, exegete.”

He [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:15-16.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father.”  John 14:6-8.

Jesus answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4.

So now you know the answer of how you can know Me: “By My Word.” Isn’t that the way you know anyone? You communicate with them.

And the LORD appeared again at Shiloh, because the LORD revealed Himself to Samuel at Shiloh by the Word of the LORD. 1 Samuel 3:21.

In fact My Words are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:22. My Words are Spirit and life. John 6:63. My Words are words of eternal life. John 12:50; John 6:68. And you live on My Words.

For it is not an idle word for you; indeed it is your life. And by this word you will prolong your days in the land, which you are about to cross the Jordan to possess. Deuteronomy 32:47.

To know someone, anyone, you must have a relationship with them and you cannot have a relationship with someone unless you communicate with them. Under the New Covenant, I tell you that all would know Me from the least to the greatest because I will forgive all your sins and remember them no more.

“I will put My law within them and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. They will not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the LORD, “for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.” Jeremiah 31:33-34.

I took care of that in your redemption by the Blood of Jesus. Before sins were only covered by the blood of lambs, bulls, and goats, but now you have eternal redemption for Jesus made peace through the blood of the Cross and made you holy, blameless and without reproach before Me.

You no longer have to depend on someone else telling you about who I am. You can personally communicate with Me. I have made that easy for you by giving you My Son as one like you so that you have a way in which to directly communicate with Me through Him, for He made a new and living way for you to the throne of grace.

But there is more to consider here. If you desire to know someone and be close to them, you cannot arrive at that relationship by merely reading about that person. There are three steps here for a vibrant, living, long lasting relationship.

  1. You must take the time to build a personal relationship with someone. With Me, you draw close to Me and I draw close to you in prayer, reading and meditating upon My Words. Indeed, I tell you to pray without ceasing, which means you are mindful of My presence with you and you refer everything to Me for answers, solutions, guidance, and deliverance. My will for you in Christ Jesus is that you rejoice always (in My promises and goodness that will be your answer to every contrary circumstance or hindrance), pray without ceasing (get My input in all your ways), and give constant thanks (for the desired result that is guaranteed in My Word).
  2. There must be a mutual delight and joy in the relationship for it to endure and be healthy and robust. “Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
  3. You must stay in the light. I am light and there is no darkness in Me—no hidden agendas, no evil, nothing that cannot be revealed to the whole world. My plans for you are shalom and not evil, to give you an amazing future and a glorious hope. Adam and Eve did not stay in the light but did evil in My sight and hid in the dark, they did not bring their conduct into My light so that they could be open and cleansed by My Word of promise. You cannot have a true relationship with anyone if you are not open to each other. Hiding things in the dark that you do against the other ruins the relationship when uncovered. Evil and good have no true relationship. To bond as one with Me, you must have a desire to keep My Word and not be also serving Satan by your words and conduct, such as gossiping, judging others in a critical spirit, lying, cheating, complaining, or the like.

There must be a joining of hearts in agreement on what is true and right. If you are in defiance of My ways, you cannot walk together with Me and we cannot abide in one another. You cannot yoke yourself with the dark and stay in the light.

If your life is not producing the fruit of the Spirit you are not attached to Jesus and through Him to Me, your Father. You will know whether someone is with or against Me by the fruit they produce. Take an honest look at your life and what you are producing and you will know whether you know Me or not. Examine your words to others and yourself plus your works and your legacy.

Do people know you as a gossip and complainer? Would you want another person to know what you do said about them when they weren’t around? Would it edify them? Do people see you as love is defined in 1 Corinthians 13 by your words and actions? Does your life show evidence of the fruit of the Spirit or of the deeds of the flesh? What have you ever done for another to better their life? Do you keep your heart at peace? If you love Me you will keep My Word, which will keep you in the flow of Heaven.

“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits. Matthew 7:15-20.

“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit You brood of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak what is good? For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil. But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:33-37.

For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit, nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit. For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush. The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart. Luke 6:43-45.

When you know Me, you cannot help but walk in a manner that is worthy of the calling which you have received.

For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:9-14.

Be fruitful by abiding in Me, which is continuing in My Word, and then you are truly My disciple and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. My Word cleanses, sets you free, and makes you fruitful, because I am My Word and that is what I do for you if you will just draw close to Me.

I love you and if you love Me and are open to Me, I will give you wonderful days and wonderful nights filled with My love and heavenly delights. And that is knowng Me.
