“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.” John 14:16-17.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Today I will continue revealing to you the enormity of the truth that Jesus imparted to you in His Words to the disciples, and through them to you, at the Last Supper, and these things will put His joy in you so your joy may be complete. He imparted such deep and precious truth that the disciples could not take it all in or process it with the knowledge of Me that they had at that time but Jesus gave them a promise, a promise from Me from before time began, that I would not always strive with man nor he with Me, but I would give all men whose hearts turned to Me the gift of My Holy Spirit to join us as one in the Spirit. With the Spirit of truth in your heart, we are of one heart and one mind partnering to do fruitful and enduring works of excellence, beauty, majesty, wisdom, power, glory and above all of love. And I would give this precious gift to all who believed in My Son. Because in My Son, all sin is removed from you, and your spirit is made alive to Me and dead to sin as you are born anew in My image and according to My likeness. Then your living spirit is able to receive My Spirit. In Christ, you can enlarge your heart to hold the passageways of Heaven.
Once with a descendant of David who was king in Judah feared the threats of two armies to attack Jerusalem, I sent My prophet Isaiah to assure him of My protection. I told him unless he believed, that is, his faith in Me was strong, he would not be strong, he would not be established in assurance of victory and would seek help from ungodly nations to help him fight the enemy. But you should not trust in the arm of flesh, especially that of unbelievers, when you are in covenant with Me. He still was not persuaded so I told him, “Ask a sign for yourself from the LORD your God; make it deep as Sheol or high as heaven.” Isaiah 7:11. But Ahaz refused to ask it. He had already made up his mind to seek other sources of help. So I answered for him the sign that would prove to every person for all time that I am with you to deliver and save you from all that encumbers, binds, or causes you fear, indeed, from all that separates you from Me and keeps you out of the Kingdom. And what was that sign? You should know, but now I give you a greater guarantee even than that, for the sign I showed Ahaz has come and been fulfilled and He brought to you the ultimate sign of My presence and My care.
Therefore the Lord (Adonai) Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name “God with us”. Isaiah 7:14.
For a child is born to you, a Son is GIVEN you, and on His shoulder dominion rests, He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords, every knee shall bow at His Name, and His Name is wonderful, counselor, God Hero, Father forever, Prince of Peace (Shalom). Yes, in Jesus the Word became flesh (and I am My Word) and dwelt among you and you have all received of His fullness, the fullness of God bodily, grace upon grace. My life in you. As He told you that night of the Last Supper, when you attach to Him by receiving Him as Lord you are like a branch on the vine, intertwined and one with Me, drawing your life and all you need from Me, as My life, which is in the Word and in the Spirit, flows into you to make you a partaker in My divine nature. And it is then you are truly fruitful, for a branch bears the fruit of the vine.
What is the sign that came through Jesus that you have today that is higher than the sky and deeper than the nether world that tells you I am with you?
This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. 1 John 3:23-24.
When I directed Samuel to anoint David as king, My Spirit rushed upon him and never left him. But now you have the anointing within and upon. And that anointing teaches you all things.
“These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” John 14:25-26.
And John, the disciple whom Jesus loved, reveals more by the Spirit that dwelt in him as He does in you who believe:
These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him. 1 John 2:26-27.
Jesus told you of this at the Last Supper when for the first time He revealed what He had been leading you to all along, the living water of which He would give you to drink.
For the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes. Revelation 7:17.
I make known to you the path of life, in My presence there is fullness of joy, the delights at My right hand forever. With My Spirit dwelling in you, you are always in My presence, making your joy complete.
And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. Acts 13:52.
You will notice that I identify some believers in the Book of Acts as full of the Holy Spirit and even those who have the Spirit in them as at times when speaking a message from or about Me as being full of the Spirit or being “in the Spirit.” I also speak of quenching and grieving the Spirit. How do you get full and how to you quench or grieve Him? Simply answer this question at any given time: How much place are you giving Him in your thought life and in your heart? Are you looking to Me to lead you and seeking My guidance to the truth? Or just going your own way with no thought of Me? Are you walking in the flesh or in the spirit? That is, where are you setting your mind, what are you occupying your mind with? What spirit are you yielding to? The Holy Spirit or an unclean spirit of evil? If you get full of the Holy Spirit there is no place for the evil spirit, give NO place to the devil, that is, to his thoughts and his ways. Do not take offense at people, do not let yourself get angry and let your mouth run off without control and do not allow the spirit of depression one iota of your thought life. Take your thoughts captive that are not of Me and cast them down with the Sword of the Spirit, that is, cancel the devil’s lies with the truth of My Word. If you let Him, My Spirit within you will give you words of response that no one can take exception to or contradict. You can stay calm, even in the midst of a storm if you will let My Spirit direct your path and your hearts and minds in Me.
If you but knew My gift you would ask Jesus for a drink.
Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” 11 She said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep; where then do You get that living water? You are not greater than our father Jacob, are You, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself and his sons and his cattle?” Jesus answered and said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” John 4:10-14.
And just so you know of what He is speaking, He spoke of it again:
Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. John 7:37-39.
But the night of the Last Supper He revealed for all people and all time who this living water, this anointing, this abiding divine presence that was God Himself, My promise (“the promise of the Father”), the One who had hovered over the waters of creation, the One who brought bread and wine to Abraham as Priest of God Most High and King of righteousness and peace, the One who gave revelation to write My Word, anointing men as My prophets, the One who had hovered over Mary when the Word manifested as flesh, the One who anointed Jesus at His baptism in the Jordan, descending like a gentle dove, the One whom Jesus would breathe into the apostles the day I raised Him glorious from the dead, the One who rushed down to be with you and never leave you the day of Pentecost, the One who would seal you in Christ as a pledge of eternal redemption, and the One who would be in you and with you forever. Yes, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, whom the world has never accepted because they cannot see Him or know Him because their hearts are not born again in Christ. But you who are born again believers know Him for He is in you and with you to reveal Me to you, to lead you and guide you to all truth, to tell you things to come, and to fill you with grace endowments, the fruit of the Spirit, and wisdom.
“If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.” John 14:15-17.
This is the ultimate gift I sent Jesus to give to those who would receive Him as Lord. For you must be born again to have a living heart that can unite with My Spirit. You can hear from Me 24/7 without interruption. I have joined My Spirit with yours and poured My love, which is who I am, My very nature, into your heart by the gift of the Holy Spirit.
At last, My desire to dwell among you has been fulfilled in Jesus by the gift of the Holy Spirit.
The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death by hanging Him on a cross. He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him. Acts 5:30-32.
We have just touched upon what you have in you. You have this treasure in earthen vessels but on day the Spirit in you will quicken your mortal body at the trumpet call and you will be caught up in the air to be with Jesus and come home to the Kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world.
Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16.
I love you. Do not be unaware of the treasure within by only living in the outer court. In you, accessible by My Spirit, is the Holy of Holies and My Kingdom.
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11.
In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation—having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory. Ephesians 1:13-14.
