In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength. Revelation 1:16.
And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Ephesians 6:17.
For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
My Word is the Sword of the Spirit. People say that, but they don’t use it. You can shut down the devil’s activity in your life by using the Sword. When Jesus returns to win the final victory, He wins it the same way He always routed the devil—with the Word. Actually, He is the Word and He returns with the Sword coming out of His mouth. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the originator and perfecter of your faith, and learn from Him how to walk in the victory He has won for you. Imitate Him.
Many of you read My Word but you never put My Word to work for you. Instead of using My Word as your Sword to cut it down when trouble comes, you speak the trouble and then either question Me as to why I am doing that to you or you assume I am doing it to punish you for something sinful you did. Both of which are entirely false and come from ignorance of My Word. And other people call in suffering thinking that they, like Jesus, are suffering to save souls. But if that was the case, Jesus would never have had to come and die for you, you could have taken care of it yourself. No, you cannot take sins away for you are born in sin from Adam’s corrupted seed, but once you are born again in Jesus you become pure in Him as if you had never sinned because He bore your sins for you and took the punishment. Your sins have all been punished in Him, you can never take sin away, but in Jesus you can have your sins taken away.
You are saved by My Word, not by your sufferings, not by your trials, not by your virtuous deeds, not by your own righteousness. The Word became flesh and dwelt among you to save you, not to judge you, not to condemn you, “for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God. For, ‘All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls off, but the word of the Lord endures forever.’ And this is the Word which was preached to you.” 1 Peter 1:23-25.
Your faith is the victory that overcomes the world. And faith is released by your words. That is the spirit of faith, you believe in your heart and speak with your mouth. 2 Corinthians 4:13. This is a spiritual law. Jesus told you that when a mountain blocks your way in life, you are to release faith to take that mountain out of your way by speaking to the mountain the result you want to happen and believing in your heart that what you say will come to pass. Mark 11:22-24.
Jesus spoke to things. He spoke to storms, He spoke to unfruitful trees, He spoke to fevers, and He spoke life to the dead. Jesus used His Words to save. What do you use your words for? You will be held accountable for every idle word you speak. You are to be framing your life and the lives of those close to you by words of faith. And as you speak, so shall your life go. Death and life are in the power of your tongue. Speak the BLESSING and the magnificent promises in My Word and you shall have what you say.
You may be wondering how you do this. You have to answer your thoughts. Yes, you have to respond to everything that is contrary to My Word. You have to answer your doubts with faith. This may sound strange, like talking to yourself but actually you are not. The thoughts and the doubts do not originate in you. I did not give you a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. Where then do your anxious thoughts come from? Where do your temptations to sin come from? Where did they come from in Jesus’ life? I tell you that the when Jesus was in the wilderness, the devil came to tempt him. How did he do it? By presenting thoughts contrary to My Word, just as he did to Eve and as he always does. You see, the devil will interject a thought, such as you are dying from your illness and you cannot and will not be healed, that you will never have enough and will always suffer from financial lack, that you are old and weak and are losing your mental sharpness, that you are never going to be able to break an addiction, that your marriage is over and cannot be repaired, and numerous other thoughts of despair, anxiety, and hopelessness. Do not accept that thought as coming from yourself and meditate on it and dwell on it until it becomes your life. Instead, look unto Jesus and see what He did. The devil came and presented thoughts and doubts, temptations to power and wealth, to Jesus. Jesus responded to these doubts and temptations to act contrary to My Word by replying with the answer in My Word that took down the doubt and the temptations. You must do the same. Doubt your doubts and settle every issue, temptation, and test with My Word. This means, of course, that you will have to be familiar with My Word. If you read and meditate on My Word, then My Holy Spirit will remind you of all I said just at the right time. He will remind you to take up the Sword of the Spirit in all kinds of prayer, petition, declaration, and impartation. My Words are not idle words but are your very life.
So if you get thoughts that you are incurably ill and will never be well, you must answer by laughing at the devil and saying, “No, I am healed, by His stripes I am healed, He is the LORD my healer, and He does not permit on me any disease that I fear. He forgives My sins and heals all my pains and diseases. I am a house of God and a temple of the Holy Spirit and nothing unclean is permitted in My body.” And there are numerous examples I could give, but the bottom line is that you must answer every thought, and take it captive before it captures you, with My Word. Do not just run after every thought that enters your head and allow the thoughts to bully and torture you, TAKE UP THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT and enforce My Word and cut off that thought without pity. Do not further entertain things that would wear you down and not promote My Word.
With this in mind, I want to share with you again My Word as written to you through My servant James, “Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures. This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does. If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless.” James 2:13-26.
I love you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, do not let them be afraid, I have given you peace, My peace. Speak to your troubles and your doubts and cast them out with My Word. Use the Sword of the Spirit to cut off the work of the evil one in your life.
