But each man must be careful how he builds on it. For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 1 Corinthians 3:10-15.
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
If you have too much to do, you are doing too much.
If you are too busy to do the one thing necessary, then you are too busy.
If you are burned out, anxious, overloaded and frazzled, you are not doing My will or walking in the life of good deeds I prepared for you in advance.
Because My yoke is easy and My burden light.
For I know the plans I have in mind for you, plans for your welfare, not for woe, plans to give you a future full of hope.
People often make what I give you to be a delight and a source of rest into a burdensome yoke. I made the Sabbath for man, not man for the Sabbath—it was meant to be a day of rest and refreshment that you would look forward to. But men turned it into a day of religious regulation that bound them up and made them guilty in their hearts if they did anything at all that they enjoyed or could in any way be considered “work.” My Son had to continually defend the good deeds He did on the Sabbath, such as curing a person. Do not get so caught up in the things you have to do and the way you believe they should be done that you lose your flexibility, compassion, and common sense. Be careful that you do not bind up and burden yourself until your life is nothing but drudgery.
I made the whole world and all that is in it for you to richly enjoy and dominate, not for it to become a burden that dominates you.
If you do not have joy, you are not doing My will. My servant Paul was very busy but only about what I directed him to do. And in the midst of his labors for the preaching of the Gospel, he wrote that he was overflowing with joy! And he counseled you to do the same. “Rejoice, again, I say rejoice!”
I made you to be free. And if you continue in My Word you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. The one the Son sets free is free indeed. Free from bondage. I break the yoke of slavery and lift the burden of sin. It was for liberty that Christ freed you. And where My Holy Spirit is there is liberty. I even call My Word “the perfect law of liberty.” You have been set free from the curse so do not now go back and put yourself under the yoke of slavery a second time. When you were born again, you were born free.
But many people are anxious and busy about many things that I never asked them to do. You have a special gift that you are to use to benefit and serve others as good stewards of My manifold grace, but you may miss your gift if you try to do too many things and never focus on that. You have an assignment—a grace and a place—and yours is not to do everything that looks good or that people ask you to do. You have a life of good deeds prepared for you to walk in but it is not the same as anyone else’s. Don’t try to walk in someone else’s gift, you will not be happy there.
And many of you are just busy doing things that are not necessary or important in your or other people’s lives but they take up precious time and keep you from being fruitful. These are frivolous pursuits no matter how important they seem in the world’s eyes. Be careful that you do not spend your precious life building sand castles that the tide will wash away. Be careful how you live for your time to gain eternal merit and turn your earthly currency into heavenly riches is soon over and then you stand before My Son to render an account of what you did with your life and the talents I gave you. And your works will be tried by fire and only that which you have made out of gold will remain. What was built with wood, hay, and stubble will be consumed and you will have no good works for Me to reward.
But the good news is you still have time to reform and begin building on your foundation of Christ. You still have time to prune off the dead wood and purge the unnecessary clutter out of your life. You still have time to earn your reward.
And I am faithful. My gifts and calling to you are irrevocable. Even if you have been busy about many things that were never My Will, if you are willing and obey, you will eat the good of the land.
Do not go off and winnow in every direction. Focus on Me, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and begin to run your course. List all you are doing and then ask Me which things I told you to do and which things I would like you to cut out of your schedule.
Entrust your plans to Me and your plans will succeed. Do not just go off on your own understanding and then blame Me when you feel overworked and anxious.
Cast all your cares on Me from the start of your day on and let Me order your day aright so you may gain wisdom of heart.
And remember, this is the day I made for you to rejoice in. Whether you rejoice or not, however, is up to you. It all depends on what you believe. It is a choice. You can enjoy your life and all there is in it or you can burden yourself with care and not permit yourself to sing, dance, and rejoice. You will forget how to celebrate life. You will forget how to have fun for no reason other than being alive and looking at things through excited eyes, like you did as a child.
If you really believe My Word that My plans for you are peace and prosperity and a future filled with hope you would be excited and rejoicing each day as you anticipated the good things I have in store for those who love Me.
And it starts now. Do not be so busy that you miss what I am doing in your life. If you have too much to do, you are doing too much. And you are doing way too many unnecessary things if you determine you are too busy to spend time in My Word and fellowshipping with Me. For that is the one thing necessary for all else to follow.
Seek first My Kingdom and My way of righteousness and everything else you need will be supplied. If you are too busy with other things you will miss your provision.
I love you. Make sure that you do not waste your life in building sand castles which the tides will wash away. All your effort will count for nothing unless all you do is done with love for My glory, that is, for the manifestation of My goodness. See every moment as an opportunity to connect with Me.
