The Spirit of the Adonai Yahweh is upon me, because the LORD (Yahweh) has anointed me to bring good news to the humble; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners; to proclaim the favorable year of the LORD. Isaiah 61:1-2.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 1 Corinthians 12:4-7.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:

I sent Jesus to make your life beautiful and as I sent Jesus, so He sends you, to seek out and save the lost to make them beautiful in Christ Jesus.

Jesus is the beauty of your life. The praise of lips without deceit. There is no fault in Him. He did all things well. Jesus is the worth of your life on earth. For as He is so are you in this world. 1 John 4:17. He is My gift to you so that your life is perfect and complete in Him. Colossians 2:9-10; Hebrews 10:14.

I was in Jesus reconciling the world to Myself by imputing all your sins, ills, and shortcomings to His account and putting His righteousness, health, and merits in your account. Jesus cleaned up all the wrong you had done and made you right with Me. He emptied Himself and became poor for you so that by His poverty you could become rich with all the richness of God. In Jesus My face shines upon you. For while you were My enemies, I reconciled you to Myself through the death of Jesus, MUCH MORE, having been reconciled, you shall be saved by His life. Romans 5:10. I sent you Jesus so that you can live through Him. 1 John 4:9. All He has is yours and all I have is His. So in Him all I have is yours and you are with Me always.

And not only this, but you also now can exult in your relationship with Me through your Lord Jesus Christ, through whom you have received reconciliation. Romans 5:9-11.

For you are all My children (sons) through faith in Christ Jesus. For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Galatians 3:26-27. Into the anointing. Christ means anointed one or the anointing, it is the word “Messiah” in Hebrew, which means the same. Anointed with oil. You are clothed in Christ, the garments of salvation and the robe of righteousness, but there is much more, there is the anointing. There is grace and there is the anointing. Grace and the anointing must operate together to live a perfect life free of sin and filled with power. Grace is for you to live godly and the anointing enables you to minister to others, to carry out your assignment. When Jesus began His public ministry He declared I had anointed Him to do it. Luke 4:17-19.

When you grow in grace by growing in the knowledge of Me and the one I sent, Jesus Christ, and you walk in the fullness of your anointing, then you are who I called you to be.

I want to talk to you about the anointing. When Jesus began His public mission in the synagogue in Nazareth, He read from the great scroll of My prophet Isaiah. I tell you that Isaiah had seen the glory of Jesus and spoke of Him. John 12:41. I showed these things to Isaiah for he was anointed as a prophet. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Revelation 19:10.

So Jesus announced: “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the favorable year of the LORD.” Luke 4:16-19. The way it is written in Hebrew by Isaiah is as follows: “The Spirit of the Adonai Yahweh is upon me, because the LORD (Yahweh) has anointed me to bring good news to the humble; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners; to proclaim the favorable year of the LORD.” Isaiah 61:1-2. The word that you see translated “poor” is “anavim” plural and “anav” singular, which means humble, lowly, meek. The first time I use that world is to describe Moses in Numbers 12:3.

But I want you to look at the anointing. Jesus said that the Holy Spirit was upon Him because I had anointed Him. And you notice what I anointed Him to do: preach, proclaim, free, heal, and declare a jubilee. I anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and with power, and thus He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for I was with Him. Acts 10:38.

When Samuel anointed David to be king over Israel, he poured the horn of oil on him and the Spirit came mightily upon David from that day forward. 1 Samuel 16:13. For what? To carry out his assignment as shepherd of My people Israel.

I anoint you to do something particular, that is, your Kingdom assignment in the earth, and My Spirit comes upon you to enable you and the anointing teaches you all things. 1 John 2:27. My Holy Spirit teaches  you all things and tells you of the things to come. And how do you know that I abide in you? By the Spirit whom I have given you. 1 John 3:24. Jesus poured out the Holy Spirit on you when He returned to My right hand in Heaven and sat down having purged you of all your sins. Acts 2:33. That is the anointing. I anoint you with the Holy Spirit and power.

The Spirit on you. On David to be the leader of My people. On Bezalel to do the work I assigned of all craftsmanship as a fine artisan to make all the beautiful furnishings and utensils of the sanctuary of My dwelling place among the children of Israel as they traveled across the wilderness to the Promised Land. Exodus 31:1-11.

The anointing is My Spirit and My power on you enabling you to do the work of the ministry. Under the Old Covenant the priests, prophets, and kings were anointed with oil, enabling them to do the work of their calling for the good of the people. This is the work of the ministry.

And what is that power in the anointing that carries you successful and strong? You read from two witnesses in My Word that I anointed Jesus with the oil of joy. Joy is power. My joy is your strength. A person filled with joy runs their course while a person filled with depression gives up. And that goes for all parts of you—spirit, soul and body.

Do you remember, for I will show you a few things about it in a moment, that the anointing on Elijah, in fact a double portion of the Spirit on Elijah, was on Elisha? And when Elisha departed this life and they buried him. a band of the Moabites invaded the land as they were burying a man, so they cast the man into the grave of Elisha. And when the dead man’s body touched the bones of Elisha, the dead man revived and stood up on his feet. 2 Kings 13:20-21. The anointing penetrates all of you, even your bones. Good news gives you strong bones, the anointing of the oil of joy, but a depressed spirit dries them up and envy rots them. Swearing and cursing goes like oil into your bones. Psalm 109:18 (“But he clothed himself with cursing as with his garment, and it entered into his body like water and like oil into his bones.”)

When you are clothed in Christ, you have His mantle of the anointing. His assignment has become yours. You will do the works He did and greater. As I sent Him, so He sends you, to seek out and save the lost and to go about doing good and healing all who are oppressed of the devil. And how do you do it? You have the same anointing.

But just let Me back up a bit and talk about the mantle of being clothed in Christ. Do you remember that when Elisha asked for the double portion of the spirit and anointing of Elijah, that Elijah told Elisha that if Elisha saw Elijah when he was taken up from him, it would be so, but if not, it would not be so. 2 Kings 2:9-10. Well, Elisha saw the chariot of fire and the horses of fire and Elijah going up by a whirlwind to heaven. And then what happened? The mantle of Elijah fell from Elijah and Elisha took it as his own. Do you remember that Jesus, after I raised Him from the dead,  told his disciples, “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.” Luke 24:49. And when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. Acts 1:9. And do you remember what happened next? The Holy Spirit fell on them in the upper room and they were empowered to be My witnesses and do miracles from local to global! The mantle had fallen and clothed every believer for the work of the ministry. You are anointed to do the works Jesus did and greater, for the first born receives a double portion and you are the church of the first born. Hebrews 12:23. And do you remember what Peter told the astonished crowd when they all heard the believers speaking in tongues? “Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.” Acts 2:32-33. Poured out the anointing. They had already been born again in the upper room when Jesus breathed on them to receive the Holy Spirit within and they called Him “Lord.” “My Lord and my God.”

And I tell you that when they believed in Jesus, the Holy Spirit fell on Cornelius and all in his household. The mantle. The anointing.

The power from on High. Acts 1:8. You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you and you shall be my witnesses. You have the same anointing. It is the same Spirit. The same Spirit that rushed on David, that was on Elijah, that was on Elisha, that was on Peter, that was on Paul, that was on John, that was on Mary, that was on Priscilla and Aquila, that was on Lydia, that was on Deborah, that was on Daniel, that was on Joshua, that was on Moses, and now is not only on you, but dwelling in you. Not just coming outwardly but dwelling in you forever. John 14:17. You now have grace (the Holy Spirit in you) and the anointing (the Holy Spirit on you). What you have is superior, for the New Covenant has made the Old Covenant obsolete. Hebrews 8:13.

For the law was given through Moses but grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. John 1:17. Of His fullness you have all received, grace upon grace.

Grace and the anointing are both My power but grace teaches and enables you to live godly lives and empowers you to do so from the inside out. It puts My law of love in your hearts, grace writes it on the tablets of your heart and not on outer tablets of stone. Under grace, sin no longer has power over you. You are saved by grace through faith. You now stand in grace, which is the place of total forgiveness of your sins, redemption from the curse of the law, and of being right with Me by being given My own righteousness in place of your unrighteousness.

You are anointed for your assignment but you are saved by grace. Grace is for you to live godly and be a blessing to yourself and others. It manifests in the fruit of the Spirit and not the works of the flesh. The anointing enables you to minister to others and manifests in the charisma, or gifts of the Spirit that are distributed as the Spirit wills for the benefit of all. And I tell you to pursue love (grace) but to earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially to prophesy (i.e., edify, encourage and exhort others).

And it is all from the same Spirit by which you all have access to Me. Grace brings you into My presence holy, blameless and without reproach, and the anointing ushers you out of the Holy of Holies to do My work in the world. Jesus called His disciples to be with Him and then to go out and preach and to have authority to cast out the demons. Mark 14-15.

Paul wrote to you My Words about the gifts of the Spirit, “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11.

There are different gifts in the anointing, different callings but they all join together to make the one Body of Christ, the Church on earth. Not everyone was given the gift of craftsmanship to build and furnish My sanctuary, Moses was not, but I anointed him to lead, govern, judge, and teach My people, and I did not anoint or call Bezalel to that ministry. But Moses needed Bezalel to carry out his assignment in full and he needed Aaron too. And Bezalel and Aaron needed Moses to do their assignments. You see, the different gifts form into one body with many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit you were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. And that is grace. My manifold grace. For in fact the body is not one member but many. 1 Corinthians 12:12-13.

I gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till you all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the My Son, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (the anointed); that you should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:11-16.

Use your special gift for the profit of all. 1 Peter 4:10. And it is all really about only one gift, the one I promised you for eternity, the gift of the Holy Spirit. And how to you get Him in you and on you? Peter told you, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” Acts 2:38-39.

And the anointing is more than skill for your assignment, it also sets you apart as belonging to Me—consecrated and set apart as My own special treasure and possession. I permit no man to oppress My anointed ones. I reprove kings for your sake: “Do not touch My anointed ones and do My prophets no harm.” Psalm 105:14-15.

I love you. Walk with the wise. With those filled with grace and walking in their anointing. You will know them by their fruit. Would anyone know that about you? You need to operate in grace and in the anointing. Samson only operated in the anointing and look what happened to him. Samuel walked in both and consider what happened to him. You have the Holy Spirit in you and on you, would anyone know it? The Body of Christ is depending on you to carry out your part.
