Moreover, I tell you that the Lord will build a house for you. When your days are fulfilled that you must go to walk with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will be one of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build for Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. I will be his father and he shall be My son; and I will not take My lovingkindness away from him, as I took it from him who was before you. But I will settle him in My house and in My kingdom forever, and his throne shall be established forever.” 1 Chronicles 17:10-14.

The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.” Luke 1:30-33.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:

My promises seem good to you, and they are good, but actually they are much greater than that, they are what My apostle Peter calls “precious and magnificent” and what Paul says are beyond all you can ask or imagine. I want you to realize My Word, My promises, have many layers and many levels, and are much farther reaching than you think. They span time and eternity. I have magnified and exalted My promise and My Word according to My Name. Psalm 138:2.

I gave David a promise. And that promise is still unfolding in all its magnificence. Consider first the promise, “Moreover, I tell you that the LORD will build a house for you. When your days are fulfilled and you must go to walk with your fathers, I will raise (the Hebrew word used here is “kum” which is to raise or rise up, Jesus said that to Jairus’ daughter when He raised her up from death to life) up your seed after you, who will be one of your sons; and I will establish (make firm) his kingdom (Colossians 1:13, “the Kingdom of My Beloved Son”).

Many look at the promise and think it refers to Solomon because he built a house for Me, a magnificent structure, but his throne was not established forever. I was talking about another seed, an imperishable seed, and a throne I will establish FOREVER. He is My Son. He is Son of God but He is only Son of man, and He is the root and offspring of David.

For through Him, I have granted to you My precious and magnificent promises so by them you may become partakers of the divine nature. 2 Peter 1:4. From His fullness you have all received, grace upon grace. And grace is My divine life flowing into you. Life eternal.

And the first person to whom I revealed this promise was Mary. Remember? I sent My angel Gabriel to her and Gabriel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. I told her that in her My promise to David would begin to unfold to fulfillment in eternity. And it will take that long and longer for it fully to be understood.

I told David, “He shall build for Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. I will be his father and he shall be My son; and I will not take My lovingkindness away from him, as I took it from him who was before you. But I will settle him in My house and in My kingdom forever, and his throne shall be established forever.” 1 Chronicles 17:10-14.

“He shall build for Me a house.” Well, Jesus did and you are part of that house as His body, the church. But let Me take you to His prophecy which He spoke in Jerusalem as He stood in My house, the temple. He had driven out those who were selling oxen and sheep and doves, and overturned the money changers’ tables, and to those who were selling the doves He said, “Take these things away; stop making My Father’s house a marketplace.” His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for Your house will consume me.” The Jews then said to Him, “What sign do You show us as your authority for doing these things?” Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” The Jews then said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” But He was speaking of the temple of His body. So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken. John 2:14-22.

Jesus came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near; for through Him you have access in one Spirit to Me, the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of My household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in Jesus, your Lord, in whom you also are being built together into My dwelling in the Spirit. Ephesians 2:18-22. Coming to Jesus as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in My sight, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to Me through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:4-5.

And My promise to David continues, “I will be his father and he shall be My son; and I will not take My lovingkindness away from him, as I took it from him who was before you. But I will settle him in My house and in My kingdom forever, and his throne shall be established forever.” 1 Chronicles 17:10-14. I called Jesus My “beloved Son in whom I am well pleased,” the One on whom My favor rests. And I never left Him alone because everything He did pleased Me. John 8:29. And I have settled Him in My House, for the Son has a place there forever, and My Kingdom forever. He is the cornerstone and the gate and He is seated at My right hand exalted forever. And His throne is established forever. He sits on My throne with Me. Revelation 3:21. Have you never read in the Book of Revelation what John witnessed in the highest Heaven, My very throne room?  “For the Lamb in the CENTER OF THE THRONE will be their Shepherd (David was a shepherd in his youth and then became the shepherd of Israel from the throne of David) and will guide them to the springs of the water of life.” Revelation 7:17. And who was the Lamb in the center of the throne who alone was worthy to break open the seven seals of the scroll, the title deed to take back the earth? The Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, who has overcome so as to open the scroll and its seven seals. Revelation 5:5-6.

And in case you still have a question about how the promise to David was fulfilled, here is your answer from Truth Himself. Jesus said, “I AM the root and the descendant (seed) of David, the bright and morning star.” Revelation 22:16. Do you remember David’s “logo”? On the shield of David was the six-pointed star. The morning star. And now it is on the flag of the nation of Israel. The symbol of the Messiah is on their flag. The King of kings and the Lord of lords, who will rule from David’s throne. Luke 1:32-33. Jesus is the creator and the offspring of David. He is God and Man. The Son of God and the Son of David.

I love you. My Word, My promises, are eternal. They have ramifications far beyond your earthly sphere in the heavenlies. And they are all “yes” to you in Christ Jesus, your Lord. Like David, do not forget any of My benefits. Psalm 103:1-5.
