Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.
You saw how the LORD your God carried you, just as a man carries his son, in all the way which you have walked until you came to this place. But for all this, you did not trust the LORD your God, who goes before you on your way, to seek out a place for you to encamp, in fire by night and cloud by day, to show you the way in which you should go. Deuteronomy 1:31-33.
Hezekiah trusted in the LORD, the God of Israel; so that after him there was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor among those who were before him. For he clung to the LORD; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the LORD had commanded Moses. And the LORD was with him; wherever he went he prospered. 2 Kings 18:5-7.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
Trust. When you trust, you don’t fuss. Trusting in My Word settles the issue. When you know My Word on a subject, you know the end from the beginning. My Word is absolute truth and in it you can have absolute trust. My Word is your solid rock foundation so that no storm can knock you down. If you continue (abide, remain) in My Word you are truly My disciples and then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. John 8:31-32. Free from fear. Free from the lies of the enemy.
Adam and Eve, though they walked with Me and had fellowship with Me, put more trust in the words of a creature than they did in My Words. You may find that hard to believe, but you do it all the time also. Every time you let a worldly person tell you that My Word is not true and did not work for them you are thrown into fear and confusion. And many times you agree! When his friends came to tell Jairus his daughter had died and not to trouble Jesus any further, Jesus told Jairus not to be afraid and simply trust and the girl would be saved. Jairus trusted Jesus and went with that. And he had a good result, which he would not have had if he had given up his trust at the words of his friends and refused to go further with Jesus since it seemed a waste of time.
And you do this on other issues as well that make you doubt My Word is the absolute truth, such as on abortion, gay rights, other religions without Christ being acceptable ways to Me, and people, even your own sons and daughters, living immoral lives with others without the covenant of marriage. Or when you agree I caused the pandemic or any other form of illness as judgment on sinners. I did not. Jesus bore your illness, diseases, sins and pain, and in Him you can be healed of these things but in the world that lying enemy that Adam trusted above Me and allowed to be his master is still ruling over the ungodly and even some of the godly are working with him instead of against him. Some of you even have been his mouthpiece. You do that each time you do not uphold the absolute truth of My Word above what the world is calling acceptable behavior and self-realization or choice. People have become like the nation of Israel in the time of the Judges, each does what he thinks right in his own heart whether it defies My Word or not. My Word is not honored but despised by many, though some do not realize they are doing this because Satan has blinded their minds to the truth. But if you espouse his philosophies above Mine, even if you are a justice on the Supreme Court, you are dishonoring Me and you do not trust Me to take care of you. You are valuing the opinion of men more than My opinion. This is fear of men and not fear of Me. Paul had absolutely no fear of men, he said life or death were the same to him because either way he would be with Me whom he valued, honored and loved above anything the world had to offer (he counted it all rubbish in the light of the surpassing revelation he had of My Son and of My Kingdom). Whether in the body or out of it, his one ambition was to please Me and he called this “fear of the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:9-11. “The fear of man brings a snare, But he who trusts in the LORD will be exalted.” Proverbs 29:25.
Paul had absolute trust in Me, whether he was being loved and accepted or despised and thrown in prison. He trusted so deeply that a poisonous snake clinging to his arm and biting him caused him no anxiety, he just shook it off with a flick of his arm. Storms and shipwrecks did not lessen his trust in Me. During the worst storm the sailors had ever seen, Paul stood up on deck in the midst of the storm and told them with confidence to keep up their courage because he had heard from Me and all would survive. And he told them he had the assurance of “the God to whom I belong and whom I serve” that all would survive with no loss of life among them. Acts 27:21. He trusted he had a good relationship with Me in spite of his past sins. 1 Timothy 1:15-17.
David too had absolute trust in Me that could not be shaken by any trial. He sang often of his unwavering trust in Me. Psalm 26:1. “For the king trusts in the LORD, And through the lovingkindness of the Most High he will not be shaken.” Psalm 21:7. “Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but he who trusts in the LORD, lovingkindness shall surround him.” Psalm 32:10. “Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him, and He will do it.” Psalm 37:5. “In God, whose word I praise, in God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me?” Psalm 56:4. “O LORD of hosts, How blessed is the man who trusts in You!” Psalm 84:12.
And think of the Shunamite woman. Her little son died and off she went to get the prophet Elisha. And when asked if something was wrong, she refused to say anything but that all was well. Shalom. Why? Because she trusted that the prophet would get what her what she asked from Me. And Martha had that trust in Jesus, “Even now, I am sure the Father will give you whatever you ask.” John 11:22.
And what did Jehoshaphat advice the people of Judah as they faced an enemy that outnumbered them by thousands upon thousands? Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, O Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, put your trust in the LORD your God and you will be established. Put your trust in His prophets and succeed.” 2 Chronicles 20:20.
Jesus told you to believe in Me and also to believe in Him, John 14:1. We are one. Jesus is the arm I stretch out to you to save you as your great good Shepherd and your great High Priest. You can trust in Him to always hear and help you, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My Name that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My Name, I will do it. If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. I will ask the Father and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.” John 14:12-17.
Trust implies a relationship. It depends upon and feeds upon a personal relationship and knowledge of the character of the one you entrust yourself to. There is no trust with no relationship to base it on. But I have given you My Spirit when you receive My Son as Lord and He reveals My thoughts and character to you. And He does it through My Word. He guides you to all truth. And My Word is truth. Trust has to be based on truth. Without truth, you cannot trust.
Now, let Me reveal a truth to you that may at first surprise you. Trust, real trust that is loyal and true, has to be founded in a relationship of mutual love and respect. When there is no love, there is no true trust. For you must believe the other has your best interests in heart to truly entrust your life to them.
Adam and Eve knew Me as their Creator, provider, and source but they did not love Me. I cannot force you to love Me. I ask you too but no matter how much I command you to do so you will not unless your heart has been touched by a revelation of My love for you. As My beloved John put it, “We love because He first loved us.” And, “love than consists in this, not that we have loved God but that He has loved us and given His Son as propitiation for our sins.” I have sought you from the start and loved you with an everlasting love. I made the world to please you and I made you to be one with Me, but you would not. You turned away to your own beauty that I have given you and did not seek Me. I could not trust you. Jesus would not entrust Himself to anyone for He knew men’s hearts.
I know you love Me when you become loyal to Me and do not deny Me no matter what. You notice Peter professed to love My Son, but when he feared man, he denied him three times. And what was the question Jesus then asked him to put him back in His trust? “Do you love Me more than these?” More than men, more then the devil, more than lies, more than self-preservation when things look contrary to My Words? And Peter told Jesus he did love him. And then My Son, who saw his heart, trusted him and gave him His sheep to feed and lead. I cannot trust you to follow Me and be My shepherd and leader in the world until you have love for Me in your heart. My Son told the Pharisees they were blind leaders of the blind because He knew them, and they had no love for God in their hearts though they professed it with their lips. This people pays Me lip service but their hearts are far from Me.
Do a heart check. If you were by the Sea of Galilee with My Son and He asked you, “Do you love Me more than these?” What would your answer be? Would it be an unreserved, “Yes, Lord, you know well that I love You!” Or instead would you have to admit that you are ready to deviate from My Word every time something puts you in fear or makes you unpopular with your family, co-workers, fellow students, or friends? It is time you considered your ways.
The measuring line is falling into place now, which side will you be on? There are only two sides. Choose the winning side. That is My side. “And they overcame him [the devil] because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.” Revelation 12:11.
Until you know and believe in the love I have for you, you cannot trust Me. And until I know and believe in the love you have for Me, I cannot trust you.
I love you. Trust is mutual. And I want you to know that I know you who are reading this Daily Manna are here each day because you love Me and trust Me, and I want you to know I feel the same about you. Keep on walking with Me, I have great works to entrust to YOU.
