“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed, to proclaim the favorable year of the LORD.” Luke 4:18-19.
“Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” And when Jesus had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” John 20:21-22.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
The anointing is for a mission—a holy commission from Me. Jesus proclaimed, “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, He has anointed Me to . . .” and then He read the list of the description of His mission on earth. And it had been established and published from long ago through the mouth of My prophet Isaiah. It was there for Him to read. The same was true with John the Baptist, he was anointed from his mother’s womb with the Holy Spirit for his mission, Luke 1:41, which he also found foretold in the writings of My prophet Isaiah. Isaiah 40:3, Matthew 3:3. And you can find yourself in Scripture too; and My Spirit will lead you to your particular Scripture.
But I will share with you what you should all know anyway, the general description of your mission is the same as that of Jesus, for He told His followers, “As the Father has sent Me, so send I you,” and then He breathed on them and said “Receive the Holy Spirit.” And He had already told them, “you will do the works I do and greater ones than these shall you do.”
You all have the same anointing I gave Jesus, for He has poured it out on you too as members of His Body. But just as members of a body are set for different functions, there are different ways of carrying that mission out. The assignment I give to you will suit who I have made you to be at the time for which I made you. A polished arrow in My quiver, to shoot forth at the appointed time, with good news of salvation, a light for every nation, My grace for all mankind! Lift Him high, lift Him high, show the whole world My Salvation (Yeshuah), lift Him high, lift Him high, He’ll draw all men to Himself.
In the Old Testament the anointing was for the mission and commission of those that would fill an office that served Me and men—a Kingdom on earth assignment. The kings and priests were anointed. David sang, “the LORD is their strength and He is the saving defense to His anointed.” David was anointed by Samuel, who at that time was acting both as judge and high priest of Israel, for the kingship. And when he had been anointed and appointed for office, the Holy Spirit came mightily upon David from that day forward. 1 Samuel 16:13.
I instructed Moses to anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they would minister as priests to Me. Exodus 30:30. They were anointed, set apart as holy, and received their assignment from Me. Do your work unto Me and not so as just to please men. Ephesians 6:6-8. Do it with excellence.
I explained to Moses the importance and sacredness of this anointing: “You shall anoint the laver and its stand and consecrate it. Then you shall bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the tent of meeting and wash them with water. You shall put the holy garments on Aaron and anoint him and consecrate him, that he may minister as a priest to Me. You shall bring his sons and put tunics on them; and you shall anoint them even as you have anointed their father, that they may minister as priests to Me; and their anointing will be for them a perpetual priesthood throughout their generations.” Exodus 40:11-15. Let Me break this down to show you that shadow of which Jesus and you who believe are the substance.
Two rams and a bull were offered by Aaron and his sons for their consecration and ordination as priests. They laid their hands on the heads of the animals and then slaughtered them and offered them as burnt offerings with their blood poured at the altar and sprinkled with oil upon the vestments of the High Priest and his sons. This was done for seven days. Exodus 29:1-35. Jesus fulfills every sacrifice of the Old Testament and died for your sins once for all. You are in the seventh day, the age of grace, the fulfillment of all. You are complete in Christ.
Moses washed Aaron and his sons with water in the anointed laver before the door of the meeting tent, the inner court. This is fulfilled in your baptism into Christ Jesus, whereby Jesus has died for your sins as your sacrificial offering and you have died to sin and been raised to new life with Him, for Jesus has been offered for the sins of all, once for all, and the washing and renewing of your minds with the water of the Word. Jesus has released you from your sins by His blood and made you a kingdom of priests to minister unto Me, your God and Father. This was prophesied in by the prophet Ezekiel, “Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.” Ezekiel 36:25-27. The washing, the clothing and the anointing.
And just as those baptized into Jesus are clothed with Christ, so Moses then clothed Aaron and his sons in the sacred garments of the priesthood. First Aaron was clothed in the golden garments as the High Priest and anointed with the sacred anointing oil and consecrated to minister unto Me. I have anointed My Son as High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek, and He is the firstborn from the dead. He is your great High Priest and, as such, He is the Head of the Body, the Church. Next Moses clothed and anointed Aaron’s sons even as he had anointed their father, that they could minister as priests to Me; and their anointing was for them a perpetual priesthood throughout their generations.
Clothed in Christ at baptism you receive the Holy Spirit within your spirit, your darkened lamp comes alive with light, this is the new heart that I give you by My prophet Ezekiel foretold and then I put My Spirit into you so that you may walk in newness of life, but there is more. Jesus told His followers to wait in Jerusalem after He ascended back to Me to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and clothed in power from on High. The Holy Spirit on you by the pouring out of Him upon you by the Lord Jesus from My throne. He baptizes you in the Holy Spirit and fire. The Holy Spirit regenerates you and baptizes you into Christ, Jesus then baptizes you in the Holy Spirit, the anointing that anointed Him. “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, He has anointed Me to . . .”
Do you note that Moses anointed Aaron’s sons, “even as he had anointed their father, that they could minister as priests to Me.” It was the same anointing as their father. Remember what I say about Jesus in the book of Hebrews? “Behold, I and the children whom God has given Me.’ Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.” Hebrews 2:14-15. And Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, and your forerunner behind the veil as your great High Priest, has released you from your sins by His blood and made you kings and priests to minister unto Me. Revelation 1:5-6. And both kings and priests were anointed. The king by the High Priest and the anointing of the priests was perpetual once Moses had anointed Aaron and his sons. Their anointing qualified them for a perpetual priesthood, and so does yours, eternally reigning with Me in this life and in the Kingdom through Christ. Revelation 22:5, Romans 5:17.
This oneness of anointing and Spirit you have with Jesus and your fellowship and ministry unto to Me can be summed up as Covenant. You are in an everlasting Covenant with Me. All of this by grace through faith but faith only works by love. It all comes back to love again. Everything, faith, trust, oneness of heart, powerful ministry, mighty works, is all based on a relationship of love between you and Me. Covenant can never be one sided. It is a flow, a dance of two companies that are in perfect step and harmony, where the two become one. In marriage, one flesh, in Covenant with Me, one spirit. Anyone that joins with Christ becomes one spirit with Him. And in Him you come into Oneness with Me. Your flow goes to Me through the perfect channel of Jesus and My flow comes back to you through Jesus. He is the one who knocks at the door of your heart, and if you hear His voice and authorize Him to enter, He enters into fellowship with you and through Him that relationship is with Me. You sit with Him on His throne just as He sits with Me on My throne. Revelation 3:20-21.
I spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, but in these last days I speak to you in My Son, whom I have appointed heir of all things, through whom also I made the world. And He is the radiance of My glory and the exact representation of My nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at My right hand in the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they. Hebrews 1:1-4.
I love you. You enter the New and Everlasting Covenant in Jesus (this is based back to the bronze altar and the Lamb of sacrifice for your sins to be gone to take away the division created by your flesh and sin) and you flow with Me, your God and Father, through the perfect connection of Jesus. Jesus brings man to the level of God and brings God to the level of man, in the Godman Jesus Christ that joins God and Man as one in the divine person of the Son. In Him, you are anointed, consecrated, and qualified for your mission. Take your high calling seriously. You are wise to win souls. Be My witness from where you are to the ends of the earth.
