Someone may say to you, “Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead? Isaiah 8:19.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
There are many voices, including your own, that will try to get your attention and pull or push you into making choices and actions that may be foolish or may be wise. But there is only one voice that will always lead you in the way you should go at any given moment in time and that always has your best interests at heart. And that voice is Mine. The Voice of your good Shepherd, your teacher, your guide to all truth, your friend, your lover, your creator, your spouse, and above all, your Father who loves you and is the source of all that is good. My sheep know and recognize My voice and a stranger’s voice they will not follow. There is a way that seems right to a man but it ends in death. I will lead you in right paths for My Name’s sake. You are Mine.
You may be wondering how you are sure what is coming into your mind is Me and not another. Let Me give you guidance in this, for I am with you and I do not hide My counsel from you. I give freely to all who ask. And that is the key. Share everything with Me and ask Me for My Word on it, and I will give you a Scripture, that is, My written Word, to back up or cancel what you are hearing within you or what you are hearing from a friend, relative, or stranger telling you something or trying to make you do something or enter a contract, plan of action, etc. It can be a variety of voices and a variety of choices from simple to complicated. Some things are easily discernable as immoral, sinful, and contrary to My Word, but there are other things that are more subtle, like investments, job opportunities, marriage, and giving your possessions away to another. The discernment that gives most of My zealous followers the most confusion, however, is that of the devil trying to make you do something you think is for Me but actually it is not and would hurt you or others. Then what you think a zealous sacrifice proving your love for Me is actually foolish. If your heart is for Me, I see that, and if you take that path, I will correct you and get you to the right way but it is better not to get off track, and some people stay that way for many wasted years. My Son told the Pharisees that they were invalidating the word of God by their tradition which they had handed down. Mark 7:13. So, do not rush off with every wind of direction or thought, but wait until you know you have received the Scripture from Me that is right on point. A fact is only established by two witnesses or even three. Sometimes I will give you multiple Scriptures from the Bible that apply to your question. Do not worry, I will answer if you give Me space in your heart to do so and give quality attention to Me and are willing to follow the flow, because often I build line upon line, precept upon precept. Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you. Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and mighty things you could not know. Know that I am for you, not against you.
Truly, truly I say to you there is a Word written in the Bible, a verse, that will directly answer what you are asking on every possible subject, and I mean specifically. Trust that and wait upon Me for that Word. It will not take long to come, though it may seem like a delay, for swiftly runs My Word and My Holy Spirit reminds you of all that I have said. But that is key, “reminds” implies that you have been reading My Word and spending time in it in fellowship with Me so that I just need to give you a few words and right away you know the Scripture to which I am referring. This is the way I give it, it is like drawing water up from a well, it surfaces in your heart as you seek the answer in Me. This comes with a familiarity with My Word, it comes from reading, pondering, hearing, speaking, and applying My Word in your life so that My Word comes alive in your heart and begins speaking to you. My Word is living and active.
Let Me show you that this is so, because hearing from Me ultimately has to do with prospering in all that you do, in relationships, work, family, friends, financially, spiritually, and physically. I told you to bear much fruit and I am the one that gives you the grace to do that. So it is important to lean on Me and draw what you need out of My wisdom and not your own. Analytical, worldly reasoning has many benefits but it is limited to this life only and to the flesh, it goes no higher than the human mind and is grounded in the earth below, but heavenly wisdom comes from above, descending from Me through Christ to you, and it is from the anointing, and it has benefits now and eternally. It bears fruit that endures—that remains for people to be blessed with for length of days. I told Abraham if he followed Me and listened to My voice to show him the way, his life would bless every person on earth. And it has. He is the father in the faith of all believers.
The very first Psalm in the Book of Psalms is there as its leader for a reason. If you follow its instruction, you will know My direction, “How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked (the wrong voice to act on), nor stand in the path of sinners (another wrong voice to follow, you will know them by their fruit), nor sit in the seat of scoffers (you will become like them by following their voices)! But his delight is in the Word (written instruction, torah) of the LORD, and in His Word (written instruction, torah) he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its foliage does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers.” Psalm 1:1-3. This is how you hear My voice, by knowing My Word, for I am My Word. If you know My Word, you know Me and can hear from Me.
Do not make emotional decisions, whether from anger or zeal for good, and rush into what you “feel” or what you have bombarding your mind. Wait for Me, wait till I give you the Word that brings you peace and assurance that you are acting with wisdom. Be prepared to walk away even from what seems the “great opportunity” you must grab if you do not sense My peace and wisdom. Learning to flow in divine wisdom will save you precious time and finances.
“I will hear what God says, for He proclaims peace (shalom) to His people.” Psalm 85:8. Let peace be the umpire of your heart. My peace. When you find the Written Word that validates or invalidates what was spoken in you it causes that fountain within you to leap up to eternal life and fill your eyes with the sweet tears that come with the touch of My presence. You know that I have made you know My heart on the matter. And I am meek and humble of heart. Your souls will find rest.
Do not let My Words out of your sight, bind them continually on your heart; tie them around your neck. When you walk about, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk to you. For My Words are a lamp and My teaching is light. Proverbs 6:21-23. The revelation of My Word gives light and understanding.
The wonderful thing is if you share all with Me, that is, open up all that is in your heart and going on in your life, and let Me give you the Words you need from Scripture as it is written, then your spirit and My Spirit will work together as one. And My Spirit pulls the helm with you and for you. Let Me be the pilot of your life and you will come safely, securely, and joyfully to the safe harbor you long for. I am here for you. I never slumber or sleep. I send My Word to heal you and deliver you from all destruction.
I love you and you can rest in that. I will let you know whether it is My voice or that of the stranger. But you must learn to ask Me first before you run off in every direction.
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not smite you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever. Psalm 121
