Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding fast the Word of life. Philippians 2:14-16.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
I am light. In creating the world, the first thing I did was release light into the world. The next time I released light, it was the Light of the World. And the next light I released into the world was the Light of the World in each of you who believe so that each of you is now a Light in the world. “Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding fast the Word of life.” Philippians 2:14-16.
Jesus told you how it works, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness but will have the Light of life.” John 8:12. The Light of life. I told Job about things to come, about how man was lost in darkness, but there came a mediator who ransomed him from going down to the pit through whom I restored My righteousness to him. And I returned his youthful vigor, then he prayed and I accepted him that he could see My Face with joy. And that man sang, saying, “I have sinned and perverted what is right, and it is not proper for me. He has redeemed my soul from going to the pit, and my life shall see the light.” And the conclusion? “Behold, God does all these oftentimes with men, to bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of life.” Job 33:19-30.
Enlightened with the light of life. In Jesus, you have it. You should be enjoying walking in the Light of life. “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the LORD will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” Isaiah 60:1-3.
A deep darkness covers the earth and the people. Do you recall that when Pharaoh would not release My people from cruel slavery, I sent darkness, deep darkness, over the land of Egypt and the people for three days? But the sons of Israel, the people of My Word, had light in their dwellings. Exodus 10:22-23. And how do I tell you to be lights in the dark world? By holding fast to and holding forth the Word of life. Philippians 2:16.
The light is in My Word.
And that is how you light up your dark life and the dark world—by My Word.
“This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:5-7.
And yet some of you, many in fact, have let yourselves slip into darkness along with the world. The streets are filled with those who are like sheep without a shepherd wandering in dark valleys of death.
Do not go there. You must get light in your dwellings. I am the lifter of your countenance. If you face is drooping it is time to get the laser light shining in. Let My Face shine upon you and you shall be saved. I am a sun and shield to you. It is time for you to sunbathe. But I actually mean Son bathe. For the Sun of Righteousness has risen, the Light of the World, and there is healing in His rays. Get yourself into the Light if you want the Light of life to penetrate your body. For when your eyes are good, your whole body is filled with light. But if the light in your is darkness, how deep with the darkness be!
So if you are in a dark place, what do you do? You look for light. “For we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.” 2 Peter 1:19. And who is the bright morning star? Jesus, the Light of the world, “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.” Revelation 22:16.
And Jesus is My Word. The Light is in My Word. The opening of My Word gives light. It is time for you to get yourself in the light and let it shine on you. And how do you do that? Get My Word filling your life—sing it, speak it, read it, write it, listen to it, ponder it, spend time in it. People will lie out in the sun hours to be tanned, even go to tanning parlors and shine lights on themselves. Well, do the same with My Word.
Let the light shine in, let the glory win, drive out the darkness and sin, O let the light shine in!
It is written that My Word is a sun and a shield, do you see? It shines out your darkness and it is also the armor of light that shields you from the dark coming in. Whenever My people turned aside from and forgot My Word chaos, confusion, darkness, and defeat came. But when they found it again and gave it their attention and their faith, miracles came and the light of the nation would again shine brightly. “But for you who fear My name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in His wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.” Malachi 4:2.
My Kingdom of Heaven has no night. There is no darkness for I am its light and there is no darkness in Me and the Lamb is its lamp. It is filled with the sweetness and light of My Word. In My Kingdom of Heaven all are united in My Word and there is no other word. All who come to the Kingdom are in agreement with the High Priest of their confession (homologia). We are all of one mind and one purpose but the works are varied and yet intertwined the one with the other.
It always comes back to My Word—all joy, all peace, all healing, all health, all prosperity, all goodness, all integrity, all beauty, and all light have only one source—My Word. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.” John 1:1-5.
I am light. Jesus is light. And My Word thus is light. If you are in a dark valley you need light. The best thing you can do for yourself is to open your heart to hearing, speaking, reading, writing, and above all singing, My Word. That is how Joshua conquered the darkness that was ruling in the Promised Land when he entered. Joshua 1:8.
Overwhelmed with darkness and grief, the Psalmist sang, “O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me; let them bring me to Your holy hill and to Your dwelling places.” Psalm 43:3.
Light guides you and leads you and light also heals you. Today they are using laser, fast pulsating light, treatments for removing wrinkles, tattoos, blemishes, and also for operating on eyes and other parts of your body to heal them. Jesus washes the Church in His Word; the water of the Word and My Word is light and He is My Word and He is the Light of the world. And even touching Him healed all. Light.
Without My Word, there is no light.
