“Go to the ant, O sluggard, observe her ways and be wise, which, having no chief, officer or ruler, prepares her food in the summer and gathers her provision in the harvest.” Proverbs 6:6-8.
“Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42.
Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, redeeming your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:15-17.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
Each new day is a result of the day before. Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. Psalm 19:2. Time goes out but it comes back in like the waves of the sea to build each new day. What you send out comes back in to make each new day and year of your life. Each moment you are constructing your future. Think of that. Invest your time well and it will build a beautiful life. Waste your time and it will be a wasted life.
Redeem the time. Make the most of each moment. For always remember you are building the next day and your life is a length of days. Full of days, full of years, your life forms and appears, and by old age you clearly see what you built over the years and it puts you either in a wealthy place or a house of regrets and tears.
In Proverbs I tell you to consider the ant. “Go to the ant, O sluggard, observe her ways and be wise, which, having no chief, officer or ruler, prepares her food in the summer and gathers her provision in the harvest.” Proverbs 6:6-8. And again, “The ants are not a strong people, but they prepare their food in the summer.” Proverbs 30:25.
If only you had known that each wasted day made an old age of poverty, ill health, and tears, the loneliness of the later years. If you destroyed, destroyed you will be. If you cared for others, cared for you will be. Those who watered others will be well watered too.
But the best way is love for all good things return from love.
But I would like you to focus on the most important thing of all that you are building day by day, year by year, that will last you for eternity and not be subject to loss or the instability of the world and its financial markets. And if you are wise, you will give primary importance to this.
I would like to take you to an incident in the life of My Son when in walked the earth according to the flesh that will give you insight into this matter. Hebrews 1:1-3.
“Now as they were traveling along, Jesus entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:38-42.
Over all the years of your life you are building a relationship with Me. And that is the one thing necessary from which all else will flow. As this relationship builds, then like Abraham, Moses, Deborah, Samuel, and David you become My friend. You are one of My prophets to whom I can reveal things and know you will authorize them into the earth. You are My friend with whom I share My secrets. And like Ruth, I will care for you and be your Boaz. Ruth was a foreigner to the Covenant but the relationship she developed with Me gave her an important part in bringing Christ into the world according to the flesh.
And many of you too were foreigners to My Covenant of promise, but now in Christ and having walked with Me in developing a relationship with Me over the days and years of your life, you will have an important part in My Son’s return and in the conversion of Israel as well as the nations.
It is too little for you to raise up the tribes of Jacob, I will make you a light to the nations. Start where you are at and work out to the nations. And how do you do this? I have made your mouth a sharp sword—the Sword of the Spirit, which is My Word. And I have concealed you in the shadow of My hand as a select arrow hidden in My quiver to shoot forth at the appointed time. Hidden for such a time as this.
You may think, looking at your life, that you have toiled in vain and have spent your strength for nothing and vanity. It may be the future you planned turned out in failed relationships and a family divided. It may be you have suffered financial losses or setbacks at work. It may be you hoped for success and fame and that never came to pass. But if during all that time you have been clinging to Me and working on your relationship with Me—never letting go of Me and seeking Me, then here is My answer about your life: “You are honored in My sight and I am your strength.” Isaiah 49:4-5. I honor those who honor Me and you have honored Me in your life. You never took your eyes off Me, even when you sinned. Like David. You may be ashamed now of certain things in your life but the blood of My Son takes care of all that. Even if your sins were red as crimson, I make them white as snow in Jesus. As far as the east from the west, so far have I put your transgressions from you. Your sins and offenses I remember no more. I have chosen you to be My friend, My prophet, and My bride.
When you do the things you do, always have your eyes on Me and on your future, for each day you are building the future house of your life, where you will spend your later days. But best of all is to build as a living stone into My house where you will dwell forever. 1 Peter 2:4-5. In the book of Revelation, I tell you that My apostles have their names written on the foundation stones of the wall of My heavenly city. Revelation 21:14. And these stones are precious gems. And to each of you who overcomes I give a white stone with a new name written on it which no one knows but the one who receives it. Revelation 2:17. I have called you by name, you are Mine.
Your life here is only about one thing—building a relationship with Me. “The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until the full day.” Proverbs 4:18.
You advance from servant to friend to bride to total oneness of heart, until you can say with Jesus, “The Father and I are one.”
Jesus told you, “You are My friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing, but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.” John 15:14-15.
Knowing Me. Knowing what I am doing. Knowing My ways. And the closer you get to Me, the closer I get to you. James 4:8. And suddenly you can sing with the beloved bride in Song of Songs: His mouth is all sweetness, He is altogether delightful, such is my beloved and such is my friend.” Song of Songs 5:16. “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is Mine. Song of Songs 6:3.
Our you at the point where you describe Me as your beloved and your friend? If not, it is time to prioritize our relationship.
No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve Me and mammon (the world system of wealth). For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet I feed them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if I so clothe the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will I not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for I know that you need all these things. But seek first My kingdom and My righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Mathew 6:24-33. Seeking Me, seeking My righteousness that I give you in Jesus, building relationship and all else is added for life and godliness. It is again about the one thing necessary. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? For what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, Jesus will also be ashamed of him when He comes in My glory with the holy angels. Mark 8:34-38.
I love you. Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:20. And that is the one thing necessary. In our relationship you will find the happy life you are looking for—the joy unspeakable filled with glory that no one can take from you, for you are obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:9.
