Like a lily among the thorns, so is my darling among the daughters. Song of Songs 2:2.

Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. Luke 12:27

Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:

A lily among thorns. That is what the Bridegroom calls the Bride in the Song of Songs. What does that mean? Look further so that seeing you will see and hearing you will hear and understand that I may heal you.

Jesus tells you to consider the lilies. That means to think about them. And He directed you what to think, “Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more you? You men of little faith! And do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying. For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom.” Luke 12:27-32.

And what about thorns? Jesus talked about those too, but they are things NOT to think on. “And others are the ones on whom seed was sown among the thorns; these are the ones who have heard the word, but the worries of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.” Mark 4:18-19.

So what is the lily among thorns? “Those are the ones on whom seed was sown on the good soil; and they hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.” Mark 4:20.

A lily among thorns is the one who refuses to think on anything but My provision, healing, power and presence. A believer who considers the lilies testifies to and with My Word and refuses to fear, worry, be anxious about anything, and also refuses to allow in unclean thoughts and words. A lily keeps herself pure, as My Son is pure, and refuses to soil her white garments with the enemy’s lies. A lily overcomes with the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of her testimony. I pasture among the lilies and gather the lilies to Myself. Song of Songs 6:2-3.

It all has to do with renewing your mind to think what I tell you to think on and not what the devil tells you to think upon. You are thinking all the time and you will know whether you are thinking right thoughts or wrong thoughts by your level of joy and peace. If you have no joy and are ill at ease and anxious, you are simply thinking the wrong thoughts and you need to stop thinking them. And the good news is that you can. I did not give you a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. You need to cast down imaginations that are not in keeping with My Word—such as inability to meet your financial needs and supply for your bodily needs, infirmity and old age, diseases and sickness, hopelessness and helplessness, anger, bitterness, and a host of other negative thoughts that work up the wrong emotions in you and ruin your day, not to mention your life, like a bitter root that raises up a whole garden of thorns that will choke off the lilies.

But there is good news here for you who love Me and listen to My Word. You can think on the things I tell you to. If you could not take your thoughts captive and think on what you choose to think on, I would not tell you so many times what to think on and what not to think on, and to take every thought captive into the obedience of Christ. So you can do this and I will be there to help you if you will. Jesus gave you His peace, but you must not let your heart be troubled or afraid. And how do you do that? By not thinking the thoughts of the dreaded outcome but instead of the promises in My Word as if they already had manifested in your life. For I have blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the Heaven in Christ and seated you there with and in Him. You have only to take them by your thoughts and words, which is the spirit of faith.

And I have told you this before but let Me repeat because faith comes by hearing and hearing My Word. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts and return to Me and I will have compassion on him and abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:7. And how do you return? Let My prophet Hosea tell you, “Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, for you have stumbled because of your iniquity. Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to Him, ‘Take away all iniquity and receive us graciously, that we may present the fruit of our lips.’” Hosea14:1-2. My servant James tells you that the perfect man is one who never stumbles in what he says. In fact he is able to control his whole body. James 3:2. And the result that My prophet Hosea foretold about those who would take My Words instead of words of iniquity and offer to Me the fruit of their lips without deceit? “I will heal their apostasy, I will love them freely, for My anger has turned away from them. I will be like the dew to Israel; he will blossom like the lily.” Hosea 14:4-5. Do you see? Returning you blossom like a lily. And you know about lilies, I care for and provide for them: “they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.” Luke 12:27. I clothe them in the robe of righteousness and the garments of Salvation. I clothe them in the spotless purity of Christ, washed by His blood and made holy, blameless and without reproach before Me.

And back to the prophet Isaiah, what do I say to the wicked and unrighteous man? I tell him to forsake his thoughts, for his conduct is from his thoughts. And what thoughts do I ask him to think instead? Higher thoughts, My thoughts. For I tell the wicked and unrighteous, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9. But the good news is I give you My thoughts, as shared with you in My written Word and by My Spirit in you and on you (for that is the Covenant, “My spirit on you and My Words in your mouth that shall not depart from your mouth” Isaiah 59:21). How do you get them? “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so will My word be which goes forth from My mouth.” Isaiah 55:10-11. Do you see My Word is seed for you to sow in your life and in others’ lives to produce a harvest of what it promises by receiving the implanted Word and cultivating it by what you say and refuse to say; and also My Word is bread for the eater as you think My thoughts by meditating on My Words to renew your mind and transform you into the new man of the spirit. And as you speak it, I perform it. And it will not return to Me void, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.” I told Joshua this formula to be prosperous and successful—think and ponder only My Words and speak only them and do not turn away from the to the right or the left. Joshua 1:8.

And the result? “For you will go out with joy and be led forth with peace. The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thorn bush the cypress will come up, and instead of the nettle the myrtle will come up, and it will be a memorial to the LORD, for an everlasting sign which will not be cut off.” Isaiah 55:12-13. No thorns.

David and his trained psalmists had a tune they used that you have lost, but certainly could find, for it is in and from Me. He called it “The Lily is Testimony.” Psalm 60:1. In Hebrew it is Shushan Eduth (שׁוּשַׁן עֵדוּת). A testimony to you of My provision, care, and love for each one of you. Jesus knew that melody, “Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. And if you look at the introduction of Psalm 80 you will find the plural, “Lilies are Testimony (Shoshannim Eduth).” Psalm 80:1. And Psalm 45 and Psalm 69 are just set according to the melody of “Lilies.” Next time you are anxious, think about lilies and think about the Kingdom. And you will be a lily of testimony. And I go to the garden to gather the lilies. Song of Songs 6:2.

I love you. Next time you want to worry, fear, and be in depressed distress, instead think about lilies and sing their tune of provision, beauty, purity, and no painful toil.
