But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57.
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. 2 Corinthians 2:14.
But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
If you are abiding in Me and My Words are abiding in you, you should be living the life of the overcomer. If you are in Christ Jesus, you are not fighting to obtain victory, you already have the victory, rather, you are fighting to enforce it. Things may come against you but they cannot overcome you. The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy what is rightfully yours, but darkness cannot prevail over light. When you turn on the light, darkness always has to flee. But if the light in you is darkness, how deep that darkness will be. To enforce the victory you must keep your lamp lit by the anointing. You must fan it into flame.
When Jesus, after I raised Him from the dead, walked with the two disciples on the way to Emmaus, he found them at a low ebb, they were troubled, filled with doubt about whether Jesus had really been the Messiah, and their hearts cold. But something happened as Jesus showed Himself to them as revealed in My Word, that is, in the Old Testament—the books of Moses, the prophets and the scriptures—the more they got filled with the Word, the more excited they got until they declared that their hearts were burning within them as He was speaking to them on the road, while He was explaining the Scriptures to them. Luke 24:32. The Word can change you, the Word can energize you, the Word can strengthen, enlighten, and encourage you anew. And the Word became flesh and He has a Name, and He has overcome the world. THE VICTORY IS ONLY THROUGH JESUS. There is no other way to have victory in this world or the next.
Today I want to start another series of life lessons, this time on how to enforce the victory won for you by Christ Jesus. And our first life lesson for our series “Enforcing the Victory” will simply be called “The Name.” Yes, we are starting with the Name above every other name, the Name of the One to whom all authority in Heaven and on earth has been given by Me. Matthew 28:18. The revelation, the anointing and the power are in the Name of Jesus. And there is no other name given among men by which you must be saved. And Jesus gave you authority to use it. Have you made use of this most wonderful gift?
At the Passover meal the night He was betrayed My Son gave you a tremendous promise about His Name, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it. If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” John 14:12-15. And just in case you had not been able to take this all in, He repeated it again later that same night but He enlarged the promise even further, “Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; an hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but will tell you plainly of the Father. In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father. I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again and going to the Father.” John 16:23-28. Now He pulled Me in to perform things asked in His Name. I am the guarantor of that Name that I bestowed upon Him. “God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.” Hebrews 1:1-4.
And that same night before He died for your sins, My Son went even further as prayed to Me, linking our Names together as One, thus: “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word . . . I am no longer in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, that they may be one even as We are. While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished.” John 17: 6,11-12. This should not surprise you, Jesus told you that all He has is Mine and all I have is His and that includes our Names. And you know that that is Covenant. When you enter covenant, such as the marriage covenant with another, you acquire the other’s name. “Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With a long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16.
In Hebrew, the Name of Jesus is Yeshuah, which means “Salvation.” When you know My Name, I show you My Salvation—Yeshuah. I have named Him and sent Him to save you. I sent Him to serve you, to give His life for you. And He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Like Me, I am, I was and I am to come.
And, oh! How He humbled Himself to receive that Name. “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:5-11.
When you exalt the Name of Jesus and confess that He is Lord, you give Me glory. When you pray in His Name, you give Me glory.
Jesus Himself gave you the authority to use His Name and thus wield His authority. And whatever you ask in His Name He will do. But what does it mean to ask for things in the Name of Jesus? People do this all the time, primarily in Church services, but they do not really pay attention to the greatness of what they are saying. Do you?
What it means and why it is so effective is because when you ask in the Name of Jesus you are using His credit to obtain your request. You are charging it to His account. According to My riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And you are a joint heir with Christ.
With His life—His Blood—He has paid the price. Because of that you do not come to Me as a bankrupt debtor, but as one with credit. He became poor so you could become rich. He took your debt and nailed it to the Cross. I declared it cancelled and paid in full. He is your kinsman redeemer. With His eternal life He paid the debt you owed Me for the eternal life you lost in Adam and He has set you free from the slavery to sin and death that Adam had sold himself and all his descendants into.
And I have given Him all authority in Heaven and on earth. All authority. Nothing moves except in His Name.
A shadow of this in My Word is the authority given to Joseph by Pharaoh in Egypt. Pharaoh set Joseph over all the land of Egypt. He took his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and put the gold necklace around his neck. He had him ride in his second chariot; and they proclaimed before him, “Bow the knee!” And even though Pharaoh remained the ultimate authority in Egypt, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Though I am Pharaoh, yet without your permission no one shall raise his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.” Genesis 41:41-44.
I am a King and I run a government and I have given My Son authority over all mankind. I have given all judgment over to Him. Isaiah understood this by revelation when he wrote that a child would be born to you, a Son given to you and the government would rest on His shoulders. That is authority.
And I revealed to Isaiah what that child’s name would be called: Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and Prince of Peace. Jesus’ Name is all of those! And all that is rolled into one Name above every other Name that says it all “Salvation.” Yes salvation in every situation, for whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord will be saved. And there will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from then on and forevermore. My zeal will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:6-7. Yes salvation in every situation, for whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord will be saved.
Jesus is a very special Name. I had designated His Name Jesus since before the creation of the world. My angel told Joseph very particularly to name Mary’s Son “Jesus” for He would save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:21. And My angel Gabriel had already told Mary to name her son Jesus when he brought her the news that she would be the virgin who would bear the Son of the Most High, God with you. Luke 1:30-32. “And when eight days had passed, before His circumcision, His name was then called Jesus, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.” Luke 2:21. Names are signs when I designate that children shall be named a particular name.
So, the Name Jesus is a sign signifying His role as Savior but signs also follow His Name. Before My Son returned to Me in Heaven after rising from the dead He told his disciples, which includes you, that the following signs will accompany those who have believed in the Name of Jesus: they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. Mark 16:17-18.
Jesus is the only name given to men by which you are saved. There is no other name above that name. Every knee must bow to Him and every tongue must proclaim Him as LORD.
He has opened the gates of Heaven to you and given you access to My throne. He opened the gates to you by paying your debt and giving you living spirits so that you could fellowship with Me. And because He did this I so exalted Him that I placed the government on His shoulders and what He permits is permitted in Heaven and what He binds is bound in Heaven. Everything in Heaven, on earth and under the earth bows to His Name.
When you ask for something from Me in the Name of Jesus it is powerful. His Name is wonderful! When you ask in His Name you have all of the following:
1. Access to Me.
You can come with confidence right to My Throne for He has opened the way for you. Actually, He is the way. He is the door. No one come to Me but through Jesus Christ.
2. Good credit and right standing before Me.
Your debt has been paid and cancelled by the Blood of My Son, you are My righteousness in Christ, and you are a joint-heir of all I possess.
3. Authority over things in the earth and in heaven.
When you receive Him as your LORD and are baptized, you are then clothed in Christ– in His authority.
Asking in the Name of My Son is like having a power of attorney to sign documents on His account. But it is more. You are not only His agent but every born again believer is also His brother.
But you are only qualified to ask in His Name if two conditions are met. And actually this is the same for any power of attorney. First, to use Jesus’ Name, you must have taken Him as your Lord. In other words, you must have accepted Him as the principal for whom you are agent. A wealthy man who desires an agent to transact business for him will only engage one who has acknowledged him as the one who will direct what things the agent shall sign the principal’s name to. This will make sure he does not enter into contracts that are contrary to his principal’s will.
This leads to the second condition to staying the principal’s agent and being able to use his name. The agent must only use the principal’s name to transact business that is according to the principal’s directions, according to his will, or he cannot remain his agent and the contracts he tries to enter will not be valid or endorsed.
I will only hear you when you ask in His Name if you pray according to My Son’s directions, according to His Will. And My Son only spoke and speaks My Words, He is My Word, so His Word is My Will. And if you ask anything according to My Will, I hear you and when you know I have heard you, you know I have granted your request in the Name of My Son. 1 John 5:14-15.
When you have taken My Son as Lord, then you are clothed in Christ and are given access to being a signer on His Account. You are in Christ in whom all riches and authority reside. But you can only be His agent if you ask in accordance with His will, which is the same as Mine, for when you ask in His Name you are using His credit to obtain your request.
Let me elaborate further on that so that it is quite clear. Some people have read the Scripture when My Son said that anything you ask in His Name I will do as meaning you ask for anything you want in the Name of My Son and I have promised that I will give it to you. That is not the case and that is not what My Son meant either.
It is similar to using a Power of Attorney as the agent (attorney-in-fact) for the principal who gives the Power to you—you can only use it to further the interests of the principal and NOT your own. You do not use his credit and authority to make your own contracts that benefit only you and not him. You use it to make contracts and sign documents that the principal would sign if he were not absent– documents in his interest that he desires to sign and would or should sign if he were present but because he is not physically present needs someone else to sign for him in his place. You are doing it for the principal’s convenience to further his interests.
A Power of Attorney is for the advancement and convenience of the principal (the person granting it) and not for the agent.
When you ask in Jesus’ Name you are furthering His interests on earth. To have your request granted what you ask for must be something He would approve and sign Himself if He were present on earth to do so.
You only give a Power of Attorney to someone you trust to further your interests and who will only sign things that you would approve and sign if you could—things that help you and further your purposes—not things which hinder and hurt you.
You do not give a Power of Attorney to someone you cannot trust to further your interests. You do not give it to someone who you believe will not be honest with it but use it to cheat you or steal from you. You do not expect your agent to use it to increase themselves at your expense, with a view to squandering your resources on their own pleasure to further things you would not permit and would never approve.
Do you now understand My Word as revealed to My servant James when he writes: “You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your own pleasures”?
If you found your agent unfaithful and using your power to hurt you and others you would surely revoke it and give the power to someone else who was trustworthy to carry out your interests and not only their own. Do you understand now the parable My Son told of the Master who gave the talents to his servants while absent on a journey? How he took the talent away from the unfaithful servant who did not further his interests and gave to the one who had? Selah. Think about that.
I love you. I have given you The Name. And that Name is above every other Name. I cannot give you anything more powerful or more precious to enforce the victory of what He has won for you. Because He redeemed My family back for Me I cannot do enough to show My love for that Name and all it stands for. He saved My family so that you could again fellowship with Me and sit on My throne with Me. How I long for you all! You are precious to Me. You are My Heart’s delight. I so loved the world that I gave My Son for you that you might have eternal life and Kingdom access and authority. Ask Me in His Name that your joy may be full. It has pleased Me to give you the Kingdom. I took the victory in Him and in His Name and so can you. But always remember this to be victorious over the trials of this life: THE VICTORY IS ONLY THROUGH JESUS. There is no other way to have the victory.
