The Lord [Adonai] LORD [YHWH] has spoken! Who can but prophesy? Amos 3:8.
“Even in your law it has been written that the testimony of two witnesses is valid admissible evidence and establishes the truth. I am He who testifies about Myself, and the Father who sent Me testifies about Me.” John 8:17-18.
Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me.” John 8:28.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
Take courage all you who hope in Me! Do not give in to discouragement. You can change your situation and the direction of your life. Why wait for someone else to come and deliver you a word of encouragement? Step up and be the prophet of your own life! I have put My Words in YOUR mouth and covered you with the shadow of My hand that you may plant the Kingdom of Heaven and establish it in the earth. Isaiah 51:16. And a fact shall be established by the testimony of two witnesses, and the testimony I am asking you to witness with is greater than the testimony of men, it is My Words in your mouth—the two edged sword of the Spirit (in Greek and Hebrew what you see translated as “two edged,” is actually “two mouths”). You overcome the devil by the Blood of the Lamb (apply it in the Spirit) and the Words of YOUR testimony. Testify with Me.
I expect you to be the prophet of your own life. Jesus was and I want you to imitate Him. Jesus said, “For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you.” John 13:15. And My apostle Paul told you to imitate him as he imitated Christ. And Paul told you that in the context of what kind of thoughts you should be letting your mind dwell upon. Philippians 4:9. Paul understood the power of words, he understood the spirit of faith (that is, believe in your heart and speak with your mouth, 2 Corinthians 4:13), and he was very diligent about taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and only speaking a good result for himself and others. But he did not just make up what he said from his desires, he only spoke what I said. Acts 27:23-25. The same is true of Jesus. John 8:28. I foretold this to Moses, “I will raise up a prophet from among your countrymen like you, and I will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.” Deuteronomy 18:18.
As for Me, this is My covenant with you, My Spirit, which is in you and upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth. Isaiah 59:21. “Surely the Lord [Adonai] LORD [YHWH] does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets.” Amos 3:7. You must speak My Words into the earth so I can perform them, and that includes in your own life and about yourself.
And that is today’s life lesson as we continue our series called “Watch your words!” This is Life Lesson No. 8: “Be the prophet of your own life.”
You may be wondering how you can be a prophet. But that just means you do not understand what it means to be a prophet. Jesus put it this way, “Even in your law it has been written that the testimony of two witnesses is valid admissible evidence that establishes the truth. I am He who testifies about Myself, and the Father who sent Me testifies about Me.” John 8:17-18. And He then told you many times that He never spoke of His own initiative but only the Words that I had spoken. He witnessed with Me in total agreement with what I said knowing My Words were eternal and established in Heaven forever. “If I alone testify about Myself, My testimony is not valid and admissible. There is another who testifies of Me, and I know that the testimony which He gives about Me is true.” John 5:31.
What do I, by My Holy Spirit, testify to you?
You have a whole Book of Words I have spoken, and particularly Words I have spoken about those who believe in Me. My apostle Peter calls them “precious and magnificent promises so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature.” 2 Peter 1:4. Have you taken the time to see what I say about you? If you will and you will speak them to yourself, to Me, and to others, you will be the prophet of your own life. My servant James calls it looking into the mirror of My Word to see who you really are and who you can become as you keep looking and speaking My Word you will be transformed from glory to glory by the LORD Spirit in you. Bring it from the dim image in the mirror to face-to-face manifestation by being the prophet of your own life.
To prophesy is speak My Words for edification [oikodomé: (the act of) building, a building], and exhortation [paraklésis: a calling to one’s aid, an “intimate call” that someone personally gives to deliver God’s verdict (a legal term), motivating and inspiring believers to carry out My plan with new energy and joy], and consolation [paramuthia: encouragement, exhortation, comfort]. Now let us look at some of the things you should be telling yourself, things you should be reminding Me of so that I can perform My Word in your life, for when you return it, My Word cannot return to Me void but achieves the purpose for which I sent it.
My Spirit witnesses with your spirit that you are My children and joint heirs with Christ of all I have. My Spirit testifies to you that your sins and offenses I remember NO MORE. I testify to you that all your sins have been imputed to Christ and My righteousness has been imputed to you. I testify to you that by the bloody scourging of Jesus you were and are healed. I testify to you that I provide for all your needs according to My riches in Christ Jesus in glory. I testify to you that if you seek first My Kingdom and My righteousness that everything you need will be added to you. I testify to you that Jesus is your good Shepherd leading you in righteous paths to green pastures and restful waters of peace. I testify to you that I forgive all your sins, heal all your diseases, redeem your life from the pit, surround you with love and compassion, fill your days with good things, and renew your youth like the eagle’s. I testify that those who are planted in My house flourish even in old age, living fruitful lives in the freshness and vigor of youth. I testify that you have the victory over sin and death in Christ Jesus. I testify to you that you can come with confidence to My throne of grace and receive mercy and find grace just when you need it. I testify that by grace Jesus became poor so that by His poverty you can become rich. I testify that we have peace by the blood of the Cross and that in Jesus, by His death and resurrection, I have made you holy, blameless, and beyond reproach. I testify that I have blessed you with every spiritual blessing in Heaven and raised you up and seated you there with Christ. I testify to you that I have made Jesus to be wisdom unto you, sanctification, righteousness, and redemption. I testify that you have been redeemed from the curse of the law and inherited the blessing of Abraham by the promise of the Spirit. I testify that you are strong in Me and the power of My might. I testify that I am with you and no weapon formed against you will prosper. I testify that you are precious in My sight, that I honor you and love you. I testify that I have qualified you for My inheritance with the saints in light and that I have rescued you from the realm of darkness and translated you to the Kingdom of My beloved Son, in whom you have the forgiveness of your sins. I testify that I will never leave you or forsake you. I testify that you are blessed, that your eyes and ears are blessed, that the blessing is chasing you down and overtaking you. I testify to you that all of My many promises are “yes” to you in Christ Jesus your Lord. I testify that I have given you eternal life and that life is in My Son. And I could tell you MUCH MORE about who you are to Me and what I do for you, just start looking in My Word for My promises and you will find that My mercies are infinite and as limitless as I am and never cease. They are new every morning.
If you are to be a prophet, you must not speak your own words but Mine. Do not be a false prophet. Jeremiah complained to Me that false prophets had arisen that were misleading the people and allowing them to remain in their sins. I responded, “The prophets are prophesying falsehood in My name. I have neither sent them nor commanded them nor spoken to them; they are prophesying to you a false vision, divination, futility and the deception of their own minds.” Jeremiah 14:14. So being a prophet of your own life does not mean just declaring anything and everything your eyes or mind alight upon as desirous to you. Eve found, with the persuasion of the devil, that the fruit looked desirable that I had told her not to eat as it would bring death, so she ate it and as I warned her happened. Be careful what you are saying and attaching your heart too. And be vigilant not to speak words that cause you fear, anxiety, pain, anger, frustration, and the like. These are not My Words and they will take your will and emotions into a path of destruction. There is a way that seems right to a man that ends in death.
Do not lean on your own understanding. The testimony which I give you is not from men; it is much greater. John 5:33-36.
And when you speak My Words over your life you can watch Me go to work with you. Yes, watch Me work when you work the Way I work. Jesus told the Pharisees when he healed people on the Sabbath, “My Father is at work till now and I am at work as well.”
Do you remember the woman with the issue of blood that she had for twelve years and no doctor could help her but she only got worse? She was a prophet of her own life. She heard of Jesus and she began to prophesy over herself, “If I just touch the end of His garment I shall be healed.” And when she got to Jesus, she kept up her declaration and I went to work. Just as she spoke, so it was done for her.
And how about the Shunammite woman when her son died? She refused to declare him dead to anyone, but instead laid him on the bed in the guest room she had made for Elisha when he traveled by and stopped to visit her and her husband and went to get Elisha. When asked why she was going all she would say is “Shalom.” All is well. And it all turned out very well. I went to work and Elisha, My prophet, raised the boy from the dead, just as she had spoken.
And Jairus did the same about his little daughter. He declared that Jesus would come and lay His hand on her and she would be well. And he refused to say anything else, even when they reported her dead. And I went to work and it turned out just as he had prophesied.
I could show you so many more. Like David when he prophesied to Goliath just how he would end at David’s hands and I went to work with David and so it was.
And let Me take you back for a moment to the book of the prophet Haggai. By a great show of power I had brought My people out of captivity in Babylon and given them funds from a pagan king and nation to rebuild My house which was laying in ruins. But the people were not working on My house but on their own houses, fine houses they were building for themselves while Mine continued in ruins. Soon they found their funds were drying up, and not only their funds, but the heavens closed and no rain fell. They did not understand why they were finding that what they had seemed to evaporate—to be like putting money in a sack with holes in it. But Haggai explained that they needed to go to work on My house, on My Kingdom on earth, and then all they needed would be added. They heard and obeyed My voice and the words of My prophet Haggai, as I had sent him. And they showed reverence for My Word. And My response? “Take courage and work for I am with you.” And even more, “My Spirit is abiding in your midst; do not fear!’ For thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land. I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the wealth of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,’ declares the Lord of hosts. ‘The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘and in this place I will give peace,’ declares the Lord of hosts.” Haggai 2:5-9.
For the silver and the gold are Mine and I made the latter glory of the house be greater than the former. I can do the same with your life if you will only speak My Words and be willing to obey them. Yes, when you are willing and obey and agree with and speak My Words, I shake the heavens and the earth to bring about your words that match Mine.
And that is being a prophet of your own life. Stop whining, complaining, accusing, and begging Me to give you what I already have given you in Christ Jesus. I have given you everything. I have given you My Kingdom. Realize you already have what you are looking for and start calling it in by being the prophet of your own life. And for the life of your city, state, and nation as well. Be My witness in your home, your city, your state, your nation, and go on to the uttermost ends of the earth. As I sent Jesus, so He sends you, “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:8. And He promised to be with you always as you go. Matthew 28:20.
I love you. I have fully equipped you for every good work in Jesus, it is time you went to work and became the prophet of your own life. Death and life are in the power of YOUR tongue. By your words you will be declared righteous and by your words you will be condemned. STOP condemning yourself and prophesy. You will never be the same.
And Jesus answered saying to them, “Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt (waver) in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be done for you.” Mark 11:22-24.
Do you see? You declare and I do it for you. It is not that you have the power, it comes from Me, but you release it into the earth by YOUR words in union with Mine.
