Apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken upon present circumstances. Proverbs 25:11.
I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. John 16:12.
I shall run the way of Your commandments, for You will enlarge my heart. Psalm 119:32.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
One Word from Me can open up your destiny. And it is just that, an opening that then continues on moment by moment, day by day, year by year, until you finish the work on earth I gave you to do. Jesus, Paul and Peter let you know that they knew when they had finished what I gave them to do, as well as Abraham and Jacob. Others never finished but cut their lives short, like Samson, King Saul, Judas Iscariot, Herod, and the list goes on. But you, I desire that you have your full reward and die satisfied and full of years.
How do you know what your work is? The special gifts and grace which are for a certain time and place that make up your journey to the Kingdom? A Word at a time. My Word is a light to your path and a lamp to your feet.
I liken My Word that applies to your present time and place as apples of gold in settings of silver. Proverbs 25:11. The treasure of My righteousness (represented by gold) in settings of redemption (represented by silver). Into your redeemed spirit comes My Words that are better than a heap of pure gold to give you grace just when you need it. The direction, the correction, the skill at the very moment it is needed for you to do My Will for your life. My commandment, My Word in due season, is pure, enlightening your eyes. My judgments are true; they are righteous altogether. They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold and sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb. By them you are warned and in keeping them there is great reward. Psalm 19:8-11.
Today we continue our instructions on how to know My Will for your life with Life Lesson No. 3: “One Word can say it all.” My Son told the anxious Martha that she was concerned, busy, and anxious about MANY things, but that really only one thing was required at that moment. And at each moment that is true. At every moment there is just one thing for you to focus on that is My Will for you to do and it is the better part to all the other things you could be doing at that moment. And when you know that, you can move forward at a fast pace to complete each step as it comes until you get to the finish line. Even in a marathon of worldly nature you do not just arrive suddenly at the finish line, you get there one step at a time, and some go at a faster pace than others. But there is always a defined course to take you there in the best time. You are My workmanship in Christ Jesus I have prepared a life of good deeds for you in advance. And you live it one step, one Word, at a time.
With Abraham, then Abram, it begin with one word, “Go,” Genesis 12:1, and he went, not even knowing where he was going. But I showed him one Word at a time and finally at 175 years old he died in a ripe old age, an old man and satisfied; and he was gathered to his people. Genesis 27:8. And he had become the father of you all who are of faith. And his obedience made his line give birth to the Word made flesh, the promised Messiah. What if he had ignored the one Word?
With Ruth the Word was to go and help her widowed mother in law and make Me her God. The next Word was to go and glean a field. And it went on from that until her life became blessed, fruitful, and beyond all she could have asked or imagined. And, at that time, she did not know how far reaching her hidden life would be, that is, that the Messiah would be a descendant of her great grandson David. What if she had ignored the one Word?
With Elijah I told him to go to hide by the brook Cherith. 1 Kings 17:3. He went and found miraculous provision there for the initial time of drought he had declared over Israel. But that brook ran dry, so My next Word was for him to arise and go to Zarephath and stay there; for I had commanded a widow there to provide for him. 1 Kings 17:9. And the widow there obeyed My Word as spoken by Elijah, and together they found miraculous provision and Elijah even raised her son from the dead when he fell ill. What if they had ignored the one Word?
I told Samuel to fill his horn with oil and go to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I had selected a king for Myself among his sons. 1 Samuel 16:1. You will notice I did not tell him which son. But when he obeyed and was ready to anoint one of Jesse’s sons king, I finally let him know which one—the one that had not come to the sacrificial banquet but had been left watching his father’s sheep. And that son was David, a man after My own heart, to whom I made covenant that his line would birth the King whose reign would never end. What if Samuel had ignored the one Word?
And David hung onto that Word that he would be king and shepherd My people Israel through thirteen dark years of running from King Saul, who was seeking to kill him out of jealousy. Because that Word, David never gave up and kept his joy over that Word. And it came to pass in due season.
And down the line came the virgin named Mary and she knew about following My Word, for she knew the stories of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Luke 1:55 (“As He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and his seed forever.”) So when the Word came to her that she would be the mother of the Messiah who would rule forever from David’s throne, do you remember her answer? “Let it be done to me according to your word.” Luke 1:38. And by one Word at a time, she walked out her destiny as she watched the years unfold. Each place I told her and Joseph to go, they immediately went, from Bethlehem, to Egypt, to Nazareth, to Jerusalem, and then she went on to Cana, to the Cross, to the upper room at Pentecost, and on to Ephesus with John. She never stopped following the Word she received. She treasured it and pondered it in her heart. And her advice? “Whatever He says to you, do it.” John 2:5. One Word at a time.
And at the wedding feast at Cana the Word was simply to fill the pots with water and take it to the waiter in charge. When the servants obeyed, do you remember the result? Gallons of the finest wine.
To the disciples, “Follow Me,” and when they did, a life beyond their wildest dreams began. And their names are written on the foundation stones of the Heavenly City, the new Jerusalem, forever. What if they had ignored that Word? There were many who did and have down the ages.
And there was the Word to Jairus, “Do not fear, only believe.” And he saw his daughter raised from the dead. There was the Word to the disciples to go in the city and follow a man carrying a water jar and go to the house he went to and ask the owner of the house for the use of the upper room for the Passover Supper. They did and found everything as Jesus had told them and it was there they had the Body and Blood of Communion and sealed the New Covenant forever.
And how about the one Word to Paul after he saw Jesus in a vision on the road to Damascus? “Get up and enter the city, and it will be told you what you must do.” Acts 9:6. I then spoke a Word to the disciple Ananias to go to Paul. And that was how he was healed, baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit—by the hands of Ananias. What if Ananias had ignored My Word?
In keeping My Words there is great reward.
Each day listen and look for what I am showing you at the moment as the one thing you are to do at that moment. But you will always know for sure that the Word I give you that moment, as I told Abraham, will bless you to be a blessing to someone else and will ultimately bless everyone in the whole world. Genesis 12:1-3. Jesus gave you two Words as the most important of all: Love Me with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. And I told you to believe in the Name of Jesus and love one another as He loved you. He served you. Imitate Me as My dear children and walk in love. And that is a good place to start, for one Word from Me can open up your destiny and that one Word is love, for as you follow Me, directed you will be along the pathway of your life. Ruth followed Me in love alone and it won the throne of David.
And it starts with little things. “Come and see,” and goes on to “follow Me,” and finally to “go into all the world and witness to the good news of Jesus, heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out demons, and do the works Jesus did and greater.” And every assignment goes through those steps no matter to what place or grace it leads to.
And if you are faithful in the little things, I can go on to trust you with greater things. From writing psalms to conquering giants and shepherding My people.
Jesus told His disciples at the Last Supper that He had so much to tell them, but they could not bear it then. They did not have hearts enlarged enough to receive the greatness of the revelation. But He made them a promise, “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you. John 16:12-15. And now, when you believe in Jesus, My Spirit dwells in you. Will you seek to hear what He is saying? With each Word you obey as directed by My Spirit, as you step out of the boat onto the water, so to speak, as Jesus says “Come,” your capacity to receive enlarges. How quickly you walk out your destiny and how much fruit you bear (thirty, sixty, or a hundredfold) depends on your obedience in little things on which you have My written Word already on to greater things, like Moses being given the plans for the tabernacle and writing the first five books of the Bible, but it all started at the burning bush when he obeyed and went to Pharoah to simply say, “Let My people go.”
The psalmist sang, “I shall run the way of Your commandments, for You will enlarge my heart.” Psalm 119:32. The more you open your heart to My Word in faith and keep My Words the more your heart enlarges its capacity to hear from Me. And I can entrust you with greater and greater revelation. Paul wrote to the believers in Corinth, “Our mouth has spoken freely to you, O Corinthians, our heart is opened wide. You are not restrained by us, but you are restrained in your own affections. Now in a like exchange—I speak as to children—open wide to us also.” 2 Corinthians 6:11-13. I have spoken freely to you and My heart is opened wide, I am knocking at your heart, open wide to Me also. Revelation 3:20.
And you do not have to take one hundred years as it took Noah to build the ark, or waste precious time going on disobedient detours as Jonah did, you can get on the fast track like Paul (he was running and pressing forward), like Moses (who started late, that is, at eighty years old but finished strong, doing more in forty years than most people do in eighty years), like Jesus, it only took Him three years to live the most supernatural extraordinary life filled with so many teachings and miracles that if they were all written down there are not enough books in the world to hold them.
And I talk about the fast track to My prophet Isaiah. “A highway will be there, a roadway, and it will be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean will not travel on it, but it will be for him who walks the WAY, and fools will not wander on it. No lion will be there, nor will any vicious beast go up on it; these will not be found there. But the redeemed will walk there, and the ransomed of the LORD will return and come with joyful shouting to Zion, with everlasting joy upon their heads. They will find gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. Isaiah 35:8-10. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give constant thanks, this is My Will for you in Christ Jesus, why don’t you take that as your Word for today? It will start you on the fast track.
I love you. Listen each day for the one thing. Not many things, one Word for each moment. And if you are faithful in little things, we can move on to greater. You cannot bear the whole plan all at once, but I have given you the Holy Spirit as your counselor. Listen to Him. And as you enlarge your heart, you will hear more and more until perfect day. You have a cloud of witnesses cheering you on but keep your eyes on Jesus, that is, on My Word.
