“I will bless you and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing.” Genesis 12:2.

I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come forth from you. I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your seed after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your seed after you. Genesis 17:6-7.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:

Fruitful. Everyone from the smallest child to the elderly wants to be busy about something. It is a desire to be fruitful. To live a life of productive purpose. If you are not, you simply waste away, like the withered branch, cut from the vine, that is not producing any fruit. A life without fruit is boring and frustrating. Do you know why? First words set the course of existence. And when I created mankind, the first word to you from Me was BLESSED to be fruitful. You are in My image and according to My likeness, and Jesus told you I was at work until now and He was at work as well. Fruitful.

If you are depressed and without hope and no joy to live then the reason is that you do not feel fruitful in where you are at this time in your life. In fact, you feel the opposite. And the more you retreat into yourself, the worse it will get until you wither away. And all the time the answer is right before you. BLESSED. And blessed people are a blessing, which is being fruitful.

Today we begin a new series and it is simply called “Fruitful.” And Life Lesson No. 1 is called “BLESSED.” And that is where you must start to be fruitful. For when you are BLESSED, you are empowered by Me to prosper in every area of your life.

When I called Abraham, then Abram, it was the same as when I called the first man. It started with the BLESSING. I told him, “I will bless you, and make your name great; and so you shall be a blessing.” Genesis 12:2. And I told him that in him all the families of the earth would be blessed. Genesis 12:3. And that is fruitful indeed.

And with blessing I speak of fruitful. I told Abraham, “I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you, and kings will come forth from you. I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your seed after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your seed after you.” Genesis 17:6-7. And I speak of increase, for fruit is increase. I later reaffirmed to Abraham when he was ready to even sacrifice Isaac to Me if I so commanded, “indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of His enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.” Genesis 22:17-18. Blessed, fruitful, increase, dominion. It all comes from being BLESSED.

I BLESSED Adam and Eve to be fruitful, to increase, and have dominion over the earth. I BLESSED Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.” Genesis 9:1. I BLESSED Abraham and his seed and made covenant with him, but most of all the BLESSING was the One seed that I planted in his line, the Messiah, the Son of God and Son of Man, Jesus.

And Jesus opened the BLESSING again to all mankind. In Him the promise to Abraham was fulfilled that in His seed all the families of the earth would be BLESSED. And after I raised Jesus from the dead, after forty days among them He ascended back to Me, and as He was carried up, He lifted up His hands and BLESSED them as He parted from their sight. Luke 24:50-51. He blessed them to be fruitful, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20.

And what did Jesus do when He returned to His place at My right hand? He poured down My promise of the Holy Spirit. And what did He do in you? He produces fruit in you by joining with your spirit and pouring in My divine life, the living water, the sap of the vine. Jesus told you that He is the vine, you are the branches, and I am the vinedresser. And when you are attached to Him you become a partaker of the divine nature and by grace My life flows into you (live streaming) and you bear fruit, much fruit, that endures unto life eternal. But you can do nothing without attaching to the vine any more than a branch can bear fruit apart from the vine. But in Him you become fruitful with good abundant fruit. Romans 7:4. You have been Sunkist (Son kissed), that is Son kissed to fruitful. Psalm 2:12.

The BLESSING is in Jesus. The BLESSING is Jesus. When you attach to Him you become fruitful. In Him are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. He is the Light of the world, the Resurrection and the Life, the Way, the Truth and the Life, the Bread of Life, the good Shepherd, the Door, and the Key to everlasting life. Eternal life is in Him. In Him I have summed everything up in one. And what is that? The way it all began. The BLESSING. And in Him it is for you.

My Blessing makes rich and adds no sorrow with it.

What is the BLESSING? It was so important to Jacob that he was willing to put his life on the line to obtain it at any cost. Close to his death, he imparted it to his fruitful son Joseph as “from the God of your father who helps you, and by the Almighty who blesses you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.” Genesis 49:25.

I give you a good idea of what My BLESSING is to you in Psalm 36: “Your lovingkindness, O LORD, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; Your judgments are like a great deep. O LORD, You preserve man and beast. How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings. They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house; and You give them to drink of the river of Your delights. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.” Psalm 36:5-9.

Do you ever even think the fact that you are BLESSED? For it is yours in Christ Jesus as is the promise of the Spirit by faith. In fact, in Christ I have BLESSED you with EVERY spiritual blessing in Heaven! Ephesians 1:3. In Him you are complete, lacking in nothing. And that is BLESSED. That is Shalom, prosperous, whole, healthy, and at peace in every area of your life. Reach out to take it, speak it, enjoy it, rest in it, release it, speak blessing over yourself and others, and put it to work in every area of your life.

“Barak” is Hebrew for blessing. It is translated literally as “to kneel, to praise, to bless.” “Esher” is another word for blessing and it means “state of happiness.” In Greek, the word for blessing is “Eulogeo” (similar to barak) which means to praise, give a good report, and it is also translated as “bountiful.” 2 Corinthians 9:6. David summed up the BLESSING well in Psalm 103 as BENEFITS bestowed on you by Me that make you whole, fruitful and happy: “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits! He forgives all my sins, heals all my diseases, redeems my life from the pit, surrounds and crowns me with lovingkindness and compassion, fills my days with good, my youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” Psalm 103:1-5. I will make a covenant of peace with you in Jesus and bring you to My holy mountain of Zion (the place of grace) and surround you with blessing. And I will cause showers to come down in their season; they will be showers of BLESSING. Ezekiel 34:26.

To be blessed is to have the abundant life Jesus came to give you and to make a significant and enduring impact for good upon the world. I so loved the world that I gave you Jesus so that all who believe in Him will never perish but have eternal life. And eternal life is life with Me, knowing Me, the one true God, and the one I sent, Jesus Christ. The abiding life of rest that produces the fruit of righteousness that is sown in peace.

And the BLESSING goes to work in you and on you making you fruitful. And what kind of fruit does it produce? The fruit of the Spirit in you. And what is that? The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Galatians 5:22-23. And if your life is producing these, you are fruitful. And remember, even though the character and sap of the vine is what enables the branch to bear the fruit of the vine, the fruit belongs to the branch. You will eat the fruit of your lips, and so will everyone around you. Make sure you are attached to the vine that produces good fruit, for you know a tree by its fruit.

Many of you are concerned that your lives are not fruitful and feel frustrated and defeated. But remember Joseph, who I made fruitful in the land of his affliction. Genesis 41:52. And how did that happen? By walking with Me in integrity of heart every day. It is time for you to attach even more to the vine by letting My Word dwell in you richly so that you will begin to produce the fruit of the Spirit by faith. Faith comes by hearing and speaking and doing My Word. And with the seed of My Word planted in your heart as you cultivate it to grow to maturity therein, you will bear much fruit. It all starts in your heart, but it does not stop there.

I love you. I have BLESSED you with every spiritual blessing in Heaven which will produce all you need, material and spiritual, upon the earth. And you will be fruitful in good works. And starting tomorrow we will begin to look at the fruit of the Spirit as produced by your spirit.
