The next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!” John 1:29

Abraham said, “God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering.” Genesis 22:8.

And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. Revelation 21:23.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

Jesus. He is My gift to the world. For I so loved the world, that I gave My only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For I did not send My Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:16-17. I told Joseph, the husband of Mary, that he was to name the child born to Mary “Jesus (Yeshuah in Hebrew)” because He would save His people from their sins. I sent Him to save you.

How was He to accomplish that enormous and amazing mission? John the Baptist by the bank of the Jordan River where he was making ready the way of the Messiah gave you the answer when he saw Jesus coming to him: “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world!” John 1:29.

Today we continue our series about the unfathomable riches of Christ—“Jesus – God with Us,” with life lesson No. 2: “The Lamb of God.”

The need for salvation from sin began with the first man and woman in the Garden of Eden. I created man in My image and according to My likeness as male and female and I gave them eternal, indestructible life. I breathed My own life into them. And I formed them from My Word and My breath to rule and reign with Me upon the earth. I clothed them in glory and majesty as with a cloak. Theirs was a delegated authority but I was the source of the power and grace under which they ruled. I gave them the leasehold to the earth and sealed it with seven seals, but the underlying fee interest to the earth and the fullness thereof belongs to Me as its maker and sustainer to take back at a certain time that I alone know. But I have given you the signs to look for to know when that time is at hand. And you should be looking forward to that if you have washed your robes and made them white in the Blood of the Lamb. I will purify away all the corruption of sin and death and free the land from the curse and make new heavens and a new earth. When I restore it is better than before.

I gave the first man and woman only one law to obey. I told the man, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will die the death.” Genesis 2:16-17. That meant the first and second death of separation from My presence forever.

Out of the many trees and plants I had given him I kept only one back as Mine. But he transgressed My covenant and dealt treacherously with Me. Hosea 6:7. The man and woman listened to another voice than Mine, that of a created being who went against My Word and tempted them to go out from under My authority to their own. They sought their own righteousness coming from the knowledge of good and evil rather than Mine. They took what belonged to Me, they robbed their God who had given them life and all that they had. “Would a man rob God?” My prophet Malachi later asked the Israelites in the matter of tithes and offerings. Malachi 3:8-9. Adam did not grow rich towards Me but rich towards himself by taking what I had told him not to eat. It was not that he did not have an abundance without that. He wanted all to be his and for himself to be his only authority. But in doing this, he went into the slavery of sin and death with a new father, the one who is a murderer and liar, and the father of all lies. And he took on the devil’s nature—he now feared Me, hid from Me, and blamed Me for his transgression.

And so you see this over and over in the corrupted seed of Adam’s descendants, this wanting to take everything away from Me and make themselves master. You see it in the theory of evolution that takes the work of creation away from Me, you see it in man’s decisions of what is right and wrong in total contradiction to My laws and directions, and they will label it “choice” and “equality act” and “separation of church and state,” and “critical thinking” and “dignity in dying,” and a “liberal mindset,” but all it comes down to is a license under law to sin in terrible ways against one another. It is the devil’s culture of immorality, perversion, and death. And if you look around the world you will see where it has led. And that is why I must totally purge and renew all the havoc man has done by the hideousness of sin in My earth.

The result of Adam’s sin was that through his sin, just as I had warned him, death entered the world, and since all men and women are descended from his seed biologically, death went to all in that corruptible seed. Adam, in union with the spirit who is a murderer from the beginning, murdered the eternal life within him and transferred his realm of jurisdiction so that his spirit was dead to Me and alive to sin. And that is where you are all born. Your father is now the father of lies, the devil, when you are born of Adam’s line. But the good news is I have given you a way to be born, not of bloods nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but begotten by Me again by the imperishable seed of My Word in the savior I promised in the Garden after Adam had sinned. I did not abandon you or leave you in a place from which you could not return to Me.

The wages of sin is eternal death. Why? A life for a life is the rule in My Kingdom and in order to reverse the sentence of “dust you are and to dust you shall return,” the second death, you had to have an eternal life to give. And the life is in the blood. I needed a man with authority on earth that had eternal blood to shed for the eternal life you lost. But as I looked down the ages and all about the earth, My eyes roam to and fro across the earth looking for hearts that are towards Me, I found none who had an eternal life to give. Isaiah 59:16. But I was not at a loss. I came down Myself to do it by My arm of flesh, for I had to have authority to act on earth. I needed the perfect man formed again by My Word, the second Adam, and one who would not succumb to the devil but would be totally loyal to Me. And I found the only One in My Son. “Behold I come! In the scroll of the book it is prescribe for Me. I delight to do Your will, O My God; Your Law is within My heart.” Psalm 40:7-8; Hebrews 10:3-10. He humbled Himself to empty Himself of His equality with Me as the One God and take on being a man as one of you in all things but sin. He became the pure unblemished lamb who took all your sins on Himself and took the wages of sin, eternal death, in your place for He had again the beauty of an eternal indestructible human life to give, as Adam had in the beginning before sin entered his life.

So you see, from the beginning, well, even before, I had the solution to pay My justice for every sin from Adam to the end of time as you know it on earth. I had found a ransom—the lamb slain before the foundation of the world in My plan. In the Garden on the day of treachery by man I gave the promise that the seed of the woman would crush the head (the authority and power) of the devil over mankind while the devil struck his heel (humanity). And I performed My Word in Jesus born according to the flesh through the virgin Mary with no taint of Adam’s corrupted seed or impure blood. The seed was My imperishable Word and the blood was formed anew by Me. The blood is from the father, not the mother. And that was the great sign that would foretell His coming, “Therefore the LORD Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name God with us.” Isaiah 7:14.

But until He came at the fullness of the appointed time, I prepared a people for Myself that would walk with Me and obey My voice that would be the line by which My Son according to the flesh would come into the world. I purified that line by the shadow of the good things to come, by a credit in their account that had to be paid at some point by eternal blood, but I gave them a covering so that they could live days of heaven on earth and avoid wrath for their unintentional sins despite the curse that had come upon the land in Adam’s sin. And it began with Adam’s son Abel and continued to Noah and later to Abraham and then it was codified in the law I gave Moses. I am speaking of the shedding of the blood of unblemished clean animals for the atonement for sin, for the life is in the blood and that is why I gave it to you for atonement on the altar. I am speaking of the law of the burnt offering, the grain offering, the peace offering, the sin offering, and the guilt offering. And I even formed the sign of salvation by the heave and wave offering of the peace offering foreshadowing that peace would come by the blood of the cross. And the priests ate the best portions of the roasted peace offering, foreshadowing Communion. The bread of life.

For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very substance of things, could never, by the same sacrifices which they offered continually year by year, make perfect those who drew near. They had to be offered over and over again each time there was sin. For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Therefore, when Jesus came into the world, He said, “Sacrifice and offering You have not desired, but a body You have prepared for Me; in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You have taken no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come in the scroll of the book it is written of Me, to do Your will, O God is My delight.’” Jesus takes away the first in order to establish the second. For you have all, been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. His blood is eternal blood, so the redemption is an eternal redemption. He gave His eternal life to satisfy justice for the eternal life you lost. You are redeemed, acquitted and reinstated in grace. There is no need of any further sacrifice. He has done it all. He has paid the ransom for all.

And if you study the sacrificial offerings you will see that the sinner would bring an unblemished clean animal such as a lamb (and for Passover and the morning and evening offerings a lamb was required) and place his hand on the head of the unblemished animal (lamb) and his sin would be transferred to that animal and the unblemished purity of the animal (lamb) to him, and then he would slit the throat of the lamb so the blood would all pour out and the priest would splash it on the altar (and Moses put some on the altar and sprinkled the rest on the people, thus consecrating them) and place the body of the animal on the bronze altar to roast it until it was either reduced to ashes or was taken to be eaten by the priests. Once a year on the day of atonement for the nation, the High Priest would enter the Holy of Holies and sprinkle the blood on the mercy seat (propitiatory) seven times in atonement for the nation.

And do you remember the first Passover? This became a memorial meal for the Israelites, which Jesus was celebrating on the night of His betrayal, for He was the fulfillment of the Passover lamb.

At the first Passover, I instructed Moses for every household to procure an unblemished lamb and keep it with them in their home and then slaughter it on the fourteenth day. And to take the blood and apply it to the door frames of the entrance to their homes. Then they were to stay that night in their homes, that is, the night of the Passover, eating its roasted flesh with unleavened bread. And the destroyer then came punishing Egypt for all the crimes of the killing of the Israelites’ baby boys by the law of Egypt and striking all the homes, killing their firstborn, that were not covered by the blood of the lamb. But those under the cover of the blood the destroyer would have to Passover, as he could not enter or touch anyone in that house because of the blood of the unblemished lamb. And that very night, after the destroyer had passed by, Pharaoh and the Egyptians told the Israelites to go, releasing them from slavery, and their neighbors gave them gold, silver, jewels, and garments to depart at My direction as I had foretold to Abraham and to Moses.

Christ your Passover has been sacrificed and under the protection of His blood you are redeemed from slavery to sin and death and rescued from the realm of darkness and translated to the Kingdom of My Beloved Son—your promised land flowing with grace. And the communion meal is now your Passover memorial forever, fulfilling My command to Moses that the Passover be a perpetual memorial feast.

Jesus is the Lamb of God and He took every sin ever done from Adam to you to beyond until the end of time when you eat the Passover meal anew at the marriage feast of the Lamb in My great Kingdom of Heaven. And when Jesus returns the second time as King of kings and Lord of lords, I again give you dominion over all the kingdoms of the earth and a place in My heavenly city Jerusalem come down to join to earth so that I can always dwell with you as your God and Father and you with Me as My people, My children, My chosen race, My royal priesthood, a holy nation sharing with Jesus the inheritance of the children in Light.

And I would also add one more thought. Jesus told the astonished Jews that Abraham had seen His day and rejoiced. And there were multiple things I revealed to Abraham about this but there is one incident in his life which I actually preached to him the gospel ahead of time. I asked him to sacrifice his beloved son, the son he loved (and that is the first time I use the word “love” in the Bible) as a sin offering on a mountain of Moriah I would show him. Genesis 22:2. His son, Isaac, however, was not the beloved Son who could take away sin. Isaac was born of Adam’s corrupted seed and would never have been able to take away sin. But Abraham knew Me. He told the men with the donkey that he and Isaac would return after worshipping, and they did. When Isaac questioned him about the sacrifice as he carried the wood of the altar up the hill, as My own Son would later do, Abraham told Isaac that I would provide for Myself the Lamb for the burnt offering. Genesis 22:8. I did. I did not let Abraham sacrifice his son, but then he understood the heartache I would go through offering My own beloved Son for the sins of the world. And it was then I swore by Myself that in blessing I would bless him and in multiplying I would multiply him and that his seed (singular) would take down the gate of His enemies and in his seed all the nations of the earth would bless themselves all because he obeyed My voice. Genesis 22:17-18. You see that by obeying in being willing to offer his son, I gave him he honor of My Son taking flesh in his line.

It is all part of the wonderful plan of your Salvation. Yeshuah. Jesus. The Name of Jesus in its original Hebrew is “Yeshuah,” which simply means salvation. And in Him alone is salvation for every area of your life.

I love you. Have you received Jesus as your Lord? If not, you don’t have the Lamb to take away your sins, you are still dead in your sins and your father is still the devil. Isn’t it time you got born again? Jesus died to give you that right.
