Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit. The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. And He will delight in the fear of the LORD. Isaiah 11:1-3.
That their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:2-3.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Knowledge. Faith is only effective where there is knowledge of who I am and what is yours in Christ Jesus your Lord. And true holiness is only possible when you know Me. And in the stages of growth in holiness the next step after moral excellence, that is, living open to Me in the light, is knowledge. 2 Peter 1:5 (“Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge”). Walking in the light of My Word leads to knowledge of the truth.
And that is today’s life lesson in walking in holiness, “Knowledge.”
Be holy for I, the LORD your God, am holy. You can only imitate Me and walk as I do if you know Me. You cannot copy the lifestyle of someone you do not know. And knowing Me creates a close relationship with Me. Remember what Jesus told His disciples, and through them tells you? “No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15. Eternal life is to know Me, the one true God, and the One I sent, Jesus Christ your Lord.
I give wisdom and from My mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6. Knowledge and understanding come from My Words. By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Proverbs 24:3-4. Reverence and honor for Me, which is valuing and doing My Word as your desired lifestyle, is the beginning of knowledge. Proverbs 1:7. It is also a life of holiness. Holy you will be if you know and do My Words. They will put your life into the beauty of holiness. My Words are more precious than gold. They adorn you with holiness.
What is the knowledge I am speaking of? To know and believe in the love that I have for you. 1 John 4:16. When you have come to know and have believed the love which I have for you, as manifested in all I have done for you and given you in Jesus, you will be able to rest in Me with no fear. I AM love, and the one who abides in love abides in Me and I abide in him. And where I abide is holy for I am holy.
Knowing My love for you will give you faith that all My magnificent promises are for you. Grace and peace will be multiplied to you as you increase in your knowledge of Me and of Jesus your Lord. I have granted to you everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Me, who called you to My own glory and excellence. For by these I granted to you My precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. 2 Peter 1:2-4.
What did My Spirit inspire My apostle Paul to pray for you? Prayers for knowledge. He prayed that you would “KNOW the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:19. And the more full you get of Me, which is being filled with My Holy Spirit, the more holy you will be. And he also prays that, “the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the KNOWLEDGE of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will KNOW what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the believers and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward you who believe.” Ephesians 1:18-19. And again, “For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the real KNOWLEDGE of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the KNOWLEDGE of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.” Colossians 1:9-12.
These prayers are from deep in My heart shared by My Spirit through the apostle Paul. My Word is Spirit breathed and My Spirit is holy. My Words will give you knowledge of the truth and that will make you holy. And what became Paul’s one desire? To know Me. Philippians 3:10-11. And that became Moses’ one desire and I called him My friend. And it became David’s one desire and I called him a man afer My own heart.
The most precious gift you can give Me is a heart completely towards Me. A heart after My own heart. A life open to Me with no disrespect, hardness, or doubt as to My goodness and kind intentions, My plans, and My purposes towards you. The difference between the regard that Moses had for Me and the regard the Israelite people had for Me shows the difference between knowing Me and not being interested to know Me. Moses was open, trusting, and obedient by choice. His life was completely given to Me. He was willing to step aside and spend time in My presence, eager to hear My Words and in awe of My goodness and power that I had shown in rescuing My people from the slavery of Egypt. He sought Me and longed to know My ways. The people on the other hand were closed to Me and suspicious, rebellious, fault finders, and highly critical. They were holding back from Me unless it seemed to be to their advantage and had no interest in getting to know Me better.
But if you want to keep step with all that I have for you and live the life that is life indeed, you must be interested in taking the time to know Me and My ways. Fortify yourself with knowledge and act on that knowledge in order to be a part of the great signs and wonders that will be happening in these exciting times of the final years before Jesus returns for His glorious church. Do not be casual about this. It is time for you to be a people of wisdom, understanding and knowledge. And the good news is you can be. In Jesus I give you wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. And to build on these and walk in accordance with your calling you must grow in your knowledge of what I have freely given you. Do not be foolish but understand what My will is for you. We walk this out together as you grow in knowledge and holiness. For you have not received the spirit of the world, but My Spirit, so that you may know the things freely given to you by Me. 1 Corinthians 2:16. And once you know them do not forget all My benefits. Declare My Word over your circumstances and watch them change to comply with My Word. My Word does not return to Me void but achieves the purpose for which it was sent if you will apply it. And this is true for all My many magnificent promises.
Knowledge of My love for you, My promises to you, the Covenant benefits that are yours, and how faith grows and works, will make you skillful in changing things, moving mountains, setting people free, and bringing My Kingdom to earth.
Solomon knew that to be successful in ruling Israel that he needed wisdom, understanding, and knowledge from Me more than all the treasures of the earth, but the wonderful thing was that when I gave him those everything good came with them. And in the book of Proverbs, he primarily speaks of wisdom, understanding and knowledge and how to obtain them and walk in them. But the final conclusion is they are all from Me, you find them in My Word and that you can have them as your own and grow in them. And primarily it has to do with how diligent you are about growing in your knowledge of Me, which, of course, is knowledge of My Word and then acting on the knowledge as you keep your thoughts and words in line with My Words.
Above all growing in knowledge is growing in the knowledge of My love for you, who you are in Christ Jesus, and knowing the great hope and power to which I have called you. It is knowing that you are citizens of My Kingdom and have full access to the riches and glory that abide there. It is knowing you can come to My throne of grace with confidence that you will receive mercy and grace just when you need them. Hebrews 4:16. It is knowing that in Christ you are holy and blameless in My eyes and that all things are yours in Him. Ephesians 1:4-7. It is knowing that you are righteous in Him with My own righteousness. 2 Corinthians 5:21. It is knowing that you are My child, My heir and a joint heir with Christ. Romans 8:14-16; Galatians 4:4-7. And all things are His. Every good and perfect gift. It is knowing that He emptied Himself and became poor so that you could become rich with all His righteousness, health, and prosperity. 2 Corinthians 8:9.
My people perish for lack of knowledge. Do you know why? The devil works through lack of knowledge. When you know My Will by knowing My Word he cannot get away with making you accept the guilt, shame, blame, sickness, depression, lack, and evil plans he has for your life. You will submit to My Word and resist him and then he must flee. He seeks to steal the Word from you because then he knows he has disarmed you, for the Sword of the Spirit is the only weapon that takes him down and stops his activity every time.
I love you. Seek knowledge of My Word for in My Word are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. And as you acquire knowledge you will fill all the rooms of your life with all precious and pleasant riches.
“All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:27-30.
