But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. Galatians 5:16.
Do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:4-6.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Adam went out of the spirit into the flesh. The devil will always try to pull you out of the spirit arena into the flesh arena. And this is the way the devil operates—he gets you focused on your flesh—its desires, lusts, appetite, pride, pains, weakness, and self-glorification. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak, so if he gets you in the flesh arena you are weak, but if you stay in the spirit arena you are strong and he cannot trap you.
And that is today’s life lesson in what to do when Satan attacks: “Walk in the Spirit.”
Because of Adam’s sin, his spirit became dead to Me and alive to sin. Sin became his master. His flesh became corruptible and headed to death, for the wages of sin is death. So if you focus on the flesh alone, your hope is limited to this life only and you become one of those who have no hope. 1 Thessalonians 4:13. Without Me, you are without hope. Because there is no way you can keep yourself alive forever and pay your own ransom, even those who trust in their wealth and boast in the abundance of their riches cannot redeem themselves by any means for the redemption of a soul is costly, it has to be paid with the eternal blood of an eternal life, and they should cease trying forever—that they should live on eternally and not undergo decay. Psalm 49:6-9. But I Myself paid the ransom owed to Me with the eternal blood of My Son, and for all those that have taken hold of this hope by receiving My Son as Lord, I have redeemed your souls from the hand of hell and received you to Myself. Psalm 49:15. No one who comes will I ever cast out. John 6:37.
Jesus spoke to you My Words and He explained, “All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. This is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I lose nothing but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:37-40.
I will never let you be cast into hell once you have come into My hand. There is no snatching from My hand. I AM the Most High.
The devil says, “Eat, drink, be merry, indulge your flesh, let it have free reign with whatever it desires, for tomorrow you die.” But Solomon found that when he followed this and did whatever his flesh dictated, he lost his wisdom, his joy, and his peace, but all this came about because he left his relationship with Me. After that, everything became vanity. All he could see was that he faced death and other men would get all that he amassed though not as wise or able to gain it as he had been. And that was a wasted life of vanity. What was his final conclusion? “The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:13-14. And “Although a sinner does evil a hundred times and may lengthen his life, still I know that it will be well for those who fear God, who worship before Him. But it will not be well for the evil man and he will not lengthen his days like a shadow, because he does not fear God.” Ecclesiastes 8:12-13.
Nothing good dwells in the flesh. Romans 7:18. And by flesh I do not mean just the physiology of your body, I mean a godless mindset that is focused only on the world and on what you can conclude from your five physical senses. I am talking about a life without a relationship with Me.
In Christ, I have condemned sin in the flesh, in His flesh.
“Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:1-4.
Those who walk according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who walk according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. If your mind is set on the flesh, your flesh is headed for death and that is where your mind is going to take you as well, making you subject to fear, jealousy, depression, envy, and sin, which will lead to more sin and various addictive behaviors to get rid of the hopelessness. But the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, you have a future and a hope that will never die and a great reward that begins even now. The mind set on the flesh is hostile toward Me; for it does not subject itself to My Word for it seems nonsense to the ungodly, for to them it seems impossible and they are not able to think spiritual thoughts, and those who are in the flesh cannot please Me, for without faith it is impossible to know Me, let alone please Me.
But when you come to know Jesus as your Lord, your spirit is born again alive to Me and dead to sin. The devil is no longer your master so sin cannot be your master, for sin is from the devil. You now live by the Spirit and if you take hold of this and walk by the Spirit, you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. Galatians 5:16.
Walking in the spirit simply means walking with Me. I am Spirit so if you walk with Me you are walking in the Spirit. I am talking about your relationship with Me and knowing My love for you that surpasses understanding. Knowing My love in a close relationship with Me frees you from sin and takes you from walking according to the flesh to walking according to the Spirit. And this works at all times and in all places.
Enoch walked with Me even before Christ came in the flesh and by his relationship with Me he walked right out of this world over to paradise with Me. Genesis 5:24. Noah walked with Me and the devil could not pull him into the evil deeds of the rest of mankind, he floated above the flood that came upon the wicked in the ark, just as you do when walking with Me in Christ. Abraham walked with Me and it gave him a long victorious, satisfying life in which all My promises to him were fulfilled, and the devil was not able to pull him away from fellowship with Me. And I blessed his children down to this generation and all the world through Jesus, who I entrusted to the line of Abraham, My friend, to be born according to the flesh. And the same is true for Joseph as we walked together through all the pitfalls and evil the devil tried to snare him with, but because of Joseph’s understanding of My love for him, he never strayed even for a moment out of walking in the light with Me. He kept his attention on Me and would not do anything impure in My sight. Genesis 39:9, And then there was Moses who became My friend and led a nation out of another nation by great signs and wonders. And Joshua who walked with Me in My Word and the devil never could make him stray off the path of success and prosperity. And I could go on and on about Deborah, Samuel, David, Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Elizabeth, Mary, Joseph, Peter, John, Paul, Lydia, on to the present day, so many you cannot count them, but I can, I know you all from before I formed you in your mother’s womb.
Walking according to the flesh is walking with the devil. That is exactly what Adam and Eve did. They walked out of fellowship with Me to fellowship with the devil and that took them out of the spirit realm to the flesh realm, where they had no hope. Dust you are and to dust you shall return. But I promised a way out of that trap. What saves you is a relationship with Me. I call it Covenant. I seek you but I am only found by those who turn and seek Me. Draw close to Me and I draw close to you, for when you seek Me with your heart, you will find Me right there with you, ready to enter into fellowship, stewardship, and partnership through time until you walk with Me into eternity. Absent from the body, present with Me, and even now as you are present in the body you are still present with Me. In the Spirit, I have seated you in Heaven with Christ, far above the dirt of the world..
Samson went entirely into living according to the flesh and doing the deeds of darkness and at that point My Spirit left him. For under the Old Covenant, My Spirit came upon those anointed for a Kingdom assignment but was not yet in them for their spirits were dead to Me and alive to sin until Jesus came, but before that the ones who sought My Word were covered by the blood of unblemished lambs, goats, bulls, and rams of sacrifice, as credit towards the righteousness that was to come in Jesus. You see this as far back as Cain and Abel.
It was the sacrifice and the relationship. Abraham did the same. Genesis 15:9-21. Which is still the case today, but Jesus has been sacrificed ONCE for ALL. And you come to Me through Him. And that is where our glorious relationship begins.
Saul, the first king of Israel, was anointed but when he walked only according to the flesh in jealousy, self-glorification, pride, and anger, and no longer obeyed My Word, My Spirit departed from him and the evil spirit he walked with tormented him.
David had a loving and reverent relationship with Me, and even though the devil took him down once by getting him out of the spirit into the flesh, David never let go of our relationship. Just read Psalm 51. And My Spirit never left him. 1 Samuel 16:13. What saves you is a relationship with Me that keeps pulling you back into the Spirit. This is what saved Abraham and it is also what saved Cornelius. For to those who cling to Me in love, I show them My Salvation. Yeshuah, Jesus. Psalm 91:16. I preached the Gospel to Abraham ahead of time, I showed him the day of Jesus and he rejoiced. I showed Jesus to Moses, Hebrews 11:26; Deuteronomy 18:15, and Jesus said Moses wrote about Him. John 5:46. I showed Isaiah His glory. John 12:41. And to David I showed Jesus and he wrote what he saw in Psalm 22 and Psalm 23. He looked upon the face of My anointed, My Messiah, and he longed for the day when sins would no longer be imputed to you but to Jesus. Romans 4:6-8.
The only way you have a relationship with Me is by faith, a faith that I exist and that I reward those who seek Me in this life and the next. “The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; but they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing.” Psalm 34:10. “How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, who seek Him with all their heart.” Psalm 119:2. “Glory in His holy name; let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad. Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His face continually.” Psalm 105:3-4. “When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O LORD, I shall seek.” Psalm 27:8. Why do I tell you to seek My face? So we can talk together as friends do. “Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend.” Exodus 33:11. My delight is to be with you. I am the God of all comfort and the Father of mercies. If you have a relationship with someone it has to be face to face for communication. But a relationship with Me is different than with anyone else, for I know your innermost thoughts and am familiar with all your ways. I planned you and formed you and love you beyond love as the world knows it. I have given you life, do you think I will stop there? “O God, restore us and cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved.” Psalm 80:3.
And that was the blessing I taught to Moses so Aaron, the High Priest and his sons could bless the people, and it was a blessing of fellowship, “The LORD bless you, and keep you; the LORD make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; the LORD smile upon you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26.
Friendship with Me is radiant with light and peace, filled with revelation and glory. I make you joyful in My house of prayer. The more you stay in contact with Me throughout the day the purer and more like Me you become. But how can two walk together unless they agree? Adam and Eve disagreed with My Word and no longer walked with Me. Friendship with the world is hostility towards Me. James 4:4. You cannot serve two masters, you cannot straddle the fence, the impure and the pure are not compatible. “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.” Ephesians 4:29. “But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among believers; and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.” Ephesians 5:3-4. “Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7.
And there is the secret, stay close to Me and you will lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and put on the new you as you are renewed in the spirit of your mind. Ephesians 4:22-24. Walking with Me sets you free. It did this for everyone who has walked with Me—think of Noah (safe from the flood that took down the rest of mankind), Jacob’s son Joseph (from the pit, to slavery, to a prison, to a palace as the leader of a nation), Peter (My angel let him out of prison), and Daniel (lions’ den and prisoner of war promoted to top government positions).
“Draw close to God and He will draw close to you.” James 4:7-8. But how do you draw close to Me? Through Jesus, who is My Word. “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” John 14:6-7. For if you have seen Jesus, you have seen Me. John 14:9. He is the only way we can fellowship because He is the only way that all your sins are gone as if you had never done them so there is no division between us. “But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.” Isaiah 59:2.
Again, it is the unblemished sacrifice and the relationship.
To trap you the devil has to pull you out of fellowship with Me. He has to make you doubt Me as he did with Adam and Eve. He has to get your attention off Me to look at something else he puts in your thoughts or before your eyes, such as he did with David and Bathsheba. To sin you have to break fellowship. You have to go behind My back instead of before My face, as Adam and Eve did. They thought they would hide what they had done. It is like when a man or woman commits adultery against their spouse, they break fellowship and try to keep it out of the other one’s sight.
THE BEST WAY TO CONQUER THE DEVIL AND NEVER GET ENTRAPPED BY HIM AND HIS SCHEMES IS TO KEP IN CONSTANT FELLOWSHIP WITH ME. Like if you were with your spouse all the time, such as if you ran a business together all day and went home with each other all night, you would be in constant communication and would not veer in other directions. But even there, there could be discord if you do not keep yourselves in love and gratitude for one another.
And that is key to staying in relationship with Me and being bullet proof (fiery dart proof) against the devil. “But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, that they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit. BUT YOU, BELOVED, BUILDING YOURSELVES UP ON YOUR MOST HOLY FAITH, PRAYING IN THE HOLY SPIRIT, KEEP YOURSELVES IN THE LOVE OF GOD.” Jude 1:17-21.
And here is the key to staying in constant communication, pray in the Spirit, that is, pray in tongues for this is effortless and yet is speaking with Me by the Spirit in mysteries, and it will edify you, that is build you up and keep you in My love. For it is by the gift of My Holy Spirit in you and on you that I pour My love into your heart. And filled with, inundated in, and drinking deeply of that well spring of love you will not sin. You do not need to get drunk on wine or other liquor, just get filled with the Holy Spirit by speaking with yourself and one another in psalms, hymns, and Spirit sent songs, making melody to Me in your heart, filled with thanksgiving.
Knowing My love will save you, keep you, and give you joy unspeakable filled with glory. Love makes things easy that would otherwise be difficult and makes you more than a conqueror. When anything is going wrong in your life or seems contrary to My promises, NEVER separate yourself from Me, that is when you must cling to Me and get My input all the more. That is when the praise must go up so the walls can come down. And it will surprise and stop the enemy, for praise takes him down, even out of the mouth of a baby. Psalm 8:2; Matthew 21:16.
“But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39.
It is all about relationship. Walking in the Spirit is simply walking with Me. And I lead you to green pastures and restful, healing waters of peace. Let us enjoy life together, forever.
I love you. Know that I am for you, and as you walk with Me no one can overcome you. I sent My Son to take your sins, ills, pains, and sorrows and take you sentence of condemnation, will I not also with Him freely give you all things? Do not ever allow the devil to bring a charge against you or condemn you again. Do not ever let him make you doubt My love again. For no one and nothing can separate you from My love. And if you are filled with the knowledge of My love and are alert in thanksgiving, he cannot get your attention no matter what he shoots at you. “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.” Psalm 34:19.
