Wisdom is the beginning so get wisdom; and with all your getting, get understanding. Proverbs 4:7.
Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish but understand what the Will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:15-16.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Walk with the wise. Wisdom is the beginning, the first thing, so get wisdom and in all your getting, get understanding. Proverbs 4:7. Wisdom is the cornerstone, “By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” Proverbs 24:3-4. “Wisdom has built her house; she has hewn out her seven pillars.” Proverbs 1:9.
I made the earth by My power, I established the world by My wisdom, and by My understanding I stretched out the heavens. Jeremiah 51:15.
Wisdom has to do with right decisions that will set each day and your future in righteousness. It is knowing the right thing to do at the right time. The grace endowment given by the Holy Spirit that is called the “Word of Wisdom,” is revelation about future events. My Spirit discloses to you the things to come. John 16:13-15. But Satan works constantly to make you make unwise decisions based on your emotions of the moment, not looking to consequences. Like Samson with Delilah. Unwise decisions destroy you and the devil knows that, it started with his success with Adam and Eve. “The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her own hands.” Proverbs 14:1.
In a game of chess, an unwise move will cost you the game. Be sober, be aware and on the alert, your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8. If you walk in wisdom, it will not be you.
Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish but understand what My Will is. Ephesians 5:15-16. Do you see? IN MY WILL LIES THE WISDOM FOR YOUR LIFE.
And that is today’s Life Lesson in what to do when Satan attacks: “Get Wisdom.”
I direct you to make decisions based on My Word and not your emotions—on what is eternal and not merely temporal. 2 Corinthians 4:18. “How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your Word.” Psalm 119:9. Keep one eye on eternity and one eye on the present moment and the days and years ahead. Your physical eyes see two different images but the brain receives those two images (one for each eye), processes them together with the other information received and returns one image, resulting in what you see. Your spiritual eyes can do the same. And that is the way I see. I see time and eternity at the same time.
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.” Matthew 7:24-27.
So how do you discern My Will for your life in the various decisions you encounter so that you may walk in wisdom? The Holy Spirit guides you to all truth, My Word is truth and is Spirit breathed, and discloses to you the things to come. He shares with you My deepest thoughts and what I have prepared for those who love Me. He reminds you of all I said and teaches you all things. He leads those who are My children and He witnesses with your spirit. So renew your mind and get filled with the Holy Spirit, for Jesus already sent Him to all who have confessed Jesus as Lord.
It is wise to live full of the Holy Spirit. How do you do that? To begin, renew your mind in My Word to find out what is good, pleasing, and perfect. Next, watch your words and your thoughts, do not grieve the Holy Spirit by speaking words contrary to Mine, “Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.” Ephesians 4:29-31.
“As for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the LORD: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My Words which I have put in your mouth shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the LORD, “from now and forever.” Isaiah 59:21.
But his is not enough to fill you with My Sprit, there is one more thing you must do, “do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to yourself in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father.” Ephesians 5:18-20. WISDOM COMES (ARISES FROM) OUT OF WORSHIP. Why? The infilling of the Holy Spirit brings the anointing. “The Spirit of the Lord (Adonai) LORD (Yahweh) is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me.” Isaiah 61:1. What for? To do and complete your mission, which is My Will for your life and therein lies wisdom for you. For if you read on in that passage from Isaiah that Jesus read at the opening of His public ministry in Nazareth, it continues with the works I gave Him to do, “to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to prisoners; to proclaim the favorable year of the LORD (Jubilee).” Isaiah 61:1-2.
Now I am going to explain to you what wisdom is, it is skill to do the works I planned for your life in advance in Christ Jesus that you should walk in them. It is skill in My ways, such as in using your faith, in praying powerful prayers, and walking in victory, and it is skill in what you do in the world. Let Me show you. The first time I use the words of wisdom (chakam) and understanding (binah) are when Pharaoh appoints Joseph in charge to guide Egypt through seven years of abundance and seven years of famine. He chooses him because Joseph has the answers to his questions, Pharaoh had the dream but Joseph had the interpretation and the plan. Skill. And Pharaoh called that wisdom and understanding and he attributed it to My Spirit, “Then Pharaoh said to his servants, ‘Can we find a man like this, in whom is the spirit of God?’ So Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so wise and discerning as you are.” Genesis 41:38-39. And that promoted Joseph to a position of guiding Egypt through the seven years of plenty and seven years of famine and handling all the economics of Egypt though he had never been educated in government or finances. And he did it in an excellent manner, feeding a hungry world and prospering the nation of Egypt. Wisdom gave him skill. And the wisdom he operated in was not worldly wisdom but divine.
“Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth. This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” James 3:13-18.
There is a counterfeit wisdom that the devil will present to the worldly minded. It is cunning and filled with selfish ambition. This is what he lured Adam and Eve into and tried to lure Jesus into by offering Him the glory of the kingdoms of the world without going through the sacrifice of the cross if He would worship him, but Jesus, unlike Adam and Eve, refused. “Be gone Satan, you shall worship the LORD your God alone.”
The next time I use the word “wisdom” in the Bible is for the skill I gave the Hebrew people to carry out the intricate plans of the Tabernacle and all its furnishings and vestments, that I gave to Moses. Exodus 28:3. “Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ‘See, I have called by name Bezalel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship, to make artistic designs for work in gold, in silver, and in bronze, and in the cutting of stones for settings, and in the carving of wood, that he may work in all kinds of craftsmanship.” Exodus 31:1-5.
You will see that Solomon asked Me for wisdom so he would be skillful in governing My people Israel as his father David had been. And Daniel had wisdom to govern and to also receive divine revelation concerning things to come. And Paul prayed that all of you would have a spirit of wisdom and revelation. “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. “ Ephesians 1:18-19. A spirit of wisdom to know the calling on your life and all the riches you already possess as well as the resurrection power working in you.
“But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30. Wisdom comes first then righteousness, sanctification and redemption. Wisdom is the cornerstone your life is built upon. And I made Christ to be wisdom to you. In Him are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. But who is He? He is My Word become flesh. He is My Word manifest. So what does this tell you? WISDOM IS IN MY WORD. And that is why the devil tries to steal the Word out of our heart, so that you have no wisdom. “There is no wisdom and no understanding and no counsel against the LORD.” Provers 21:30.
And wisdom is sweet. “My son, eat honey, for it is good, yes, the honey from the comb is sweet to your taste; know that wisdom is thus for your soul; if you find it, then there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.” Proverbs 24:13-14. And wisdom is found in My Words, which are also sweet, “They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.” Psalm 19:10. “How sweet are Your Words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! From Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.” Psalm 119:103-104. Yes, My Words are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:22.
I have stooped to make you great. How? By giving you who have received Jesus as Lord, My Spirit who anoints you with skill for living the life that is life indeed and My Words which I put in your mouth. And that is wisdom. So get filled with the Holy Spirit, making melody in your heart unto Me with thanksgiving. Never forget Wisdom comes out of worship.
Do you remember when Elisha need a word of wisdom what he said? “But now bring me a minstrel.” And it came about, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him. He said, “Thus says the LORD, ‘Make this valley full of trenches.’ For thus says the LORD, ‘You shall not see wind nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you shall drink, both you and your cattle and your beasts. This is but a slight thing in the sight of the LORD; He will also give the Moabites into your hand.” 2 Kings 3:15-18.
I love you. Walk with the wise and you will never stumble, it will free your feet from the devil’s snare, for he cannot walk with the wise, he cannot walk on the highway of holiness, it is too far above his reach. Make sure you are on it.
Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and delightful and perfect. Romans 12:1-2.
