Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
“How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.” Genesis 28:17.
Today you LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
When you put your faith in Jesus and confessed Him as Lord you were born again from above and your spirit became alive to Me and dead to sin, you became My child. This is the most awesome miracle there is, eclipsing all others, for it requires the power of the resurrection to take place. It puts your old sinful nature to death with Christ and in Christ and raises you up with Him to new life as a born again believer. By substitution, when He died to sin, you died to sin, and when I raised Him justified and freed from the punishment of sin (He had paid it in full and then some), I raised you with Him justified and freed from sin. You are not as you were in your inner man before you received Jesus, your spirit is now alive and My Spirit joins with your spirit and witnesses to you that you are My child and a joint heir with Christ of all I have. My Spirit testifies to you of Jesus and that your sins and offenses I remember no more. In Jesus you become ONE in spirit with Me—our spirits join and agree in a divine unification that gives you eternal life. And Jesus will raise your body as well to match your eternal spirit and soul on the Last Day but He will raise you the same way I raised Him—by the power of the Holy Spirit to regenerate and renew. I send forth My Spirit and they are created and I renew the face of the Adamah (earth, that is, the clay, the soil, from which your bodies were formed but which Adam corrupted and made subject to death).
However, you do not see or generally feel this miracle because your outer man (flesh) looks no different at the baptism of new birth. This takes place in your spirit, the inner man of the heart, but one day will also manifest in your flesh when I replace your mortal flesh by clothing you in the glory of immortality. A change in your outer wear so to speak, but it becomes you just as your flesh is now. A whole different type of flesh, a heavenly flesh. And I have given you the pledge of this by sealing you with My Holy Spirit when you believe in the Gospel of your salvation, promising the redemption of possession.
But I want to talk about what you have NOW that you have taken Jesus as your Lord (and what you can have if you have not yet). Peter told the unsaved crowd on the fulfillment of Pentecost:
“Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call to Himself.” Acts 2:38-39.
And that is today’s Life Lesson in living days of Heaven upon the earth: “House of God and Gate of Heaven.” You are now just that to release My Kingdom into the earth.
On the day you repented of your sins and received Jesus as your Lord, the day you were born again by water and the Spirit, as a new creation in Christ, My Spirit came to join with yours in your heart. You became a house of God and a gate of Heaven. You became holy, sacred, set apart, and My dwelling place.
I first showed you a type of this in the tabernacle in the wilderness where I dwelt among My people and traveled with them, leading them by a pillar of cloud by day and guiding them by a pillar of fire at night, protecting them, giving them victory, feeding them, and speaking My Words to them from between the cherubim on the mercy seat (propitiatory) in the Holy of Holies. The was a foreshadowing of each of you in whom I now dwell by your joining with Me as one spirit in Jesus as I journey with you through life to your promised land.
“But now take courage, Zerubbabel,’ declares the LORD, ‘take courage also, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all you people of the land take courage,’ declares the LORD, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ declares the LORD of hosts. ‘As for the promise which I made you when you came out of Egypt, My Spirit is abiding in your midst; do not fear!’ For thus says the LORD of hosts, ‘Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land. I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the wealth of all nations, and I will fill this house with glory,’ says the LORD of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,’ declares the LORD of hosts. ‘The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts, ‘and in this place I will give peace,’ declares the LORD of hosts.” Haggai 2:4-9. My Spirit abiding in your midst making My house filled with glory and the riches of the nations. “Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the LORD will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Lift up your eyes round about and see; they all gather together, they come to you. Your sons will come from afar, and your daughters will be carried in the arms. Then you will see and be radiant, and your heart will thrill and rejoice; because the abundance of the sea will be turned to you, the wealth of the nations will come to you.” Isaiah 61:1-5.
You must now see yourself as holy, set apart, and sacred, you are now the temple of the Holy Spirit, a dwelling place of God Himself. 1 Corinthians 3:16-7. If by My spirit of wisdom and revelation you come to know the breadth and length and height and depth of what I have done for you in Christ Jesus, and come to know and believe in the love I have for you as manifested in Him which surpasses knowledge, you can be filled up to all My fullness bodily—a partaker of My divine nature by My Spirit in you. I am able to do far more abundantly beyond all that you ask or think, according to the power that works within you. Ephesians 3:14-21. Not by human power or might but by My Spirit. Zechariah 4:4.
You have an amazing connection to Heaven now, to hear from Heaven and receive direction in everything you put your hand to and every moment of your life. YOU HAVE WITHIN YOU THE WONDERFUL COUNSELOR. Do you make use of so great a treasure or to you quench and ignore Him?
Jesus explained to you what He would send to you from Me when He ascended to take the seat of the Son of Man at My right hand, the throne that had been designated to man from the beginning but which the devil usurped when Adam and Eve abdicated it to him. But Jesus won it back and knocked him off it. He fell from the Heaven like lightening but is still occupying territory on earth by the sublease Adam gave him and the cooperation of people to this day. But you do not have to live under that curse of the law. Jesus redeemed you from the curse even now. And Adam’s lease is over soon when the seven seals are broken and Jesus takes back the fee simple, but until that time you are still living in the age of grace, the church age, in the midst of the battlefield on earth. And you need the direction of the Holy Spirit to take territory back and release Kingdom power on earth.
Jesus explains, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Paraclete (counselor, advocate, helper, one at side), that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:15-18.
And then He begins to tell you the unfathomable greatness of what this will mean for you.
“These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” John 14:25-26.
“When the Paraclete comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me, and you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning.” John 15:26-27.
When Jesus lived among you as the second Adam, the Holy Spirit was in Him working miracles of healing so all had to find and go to Him for the blessing. But after He would purify you of all sin and your spirits would again be alive to Me and dead to sin He could pour the promised Holy Spirit into your born again hearts and all who received Jesus could receive that gift of living water and do the works He did and greater. So it was better for them that He went or they could not receive the Spirit themselves.
“But now I am going to Him who sent Me; and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Paraclete will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.” John 16:5-8
And what would the wonderful Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, do for you when He came to you? He would become each believer’s way of hearing and knowing Me and receiving all the instruction that Jesus still desired to give them but they were not ready for at that time.
“I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you. John 16:12-15.
The Holy Spirit is now the voice of Jesus to every person who believes, Christ in you, your hope of glory. He can be your Teacher and so can I, for we are One and the Spirit is One with us. You will note that I call the Holy Spirit both the Spirit of the Father and the Spirit of Jesus. Jesus and the Spirit both proceed from My depths as My perfect expression.
Jesus said, “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me.” John 15:26.
So you see within you, deep within your spirit, for deep calls unto deep, dwells My Spirit, making you a holy sanctuary, but there is so much more. He has come to you to teach you all things, to guide you to all truth, to tell you of the things that are coming, and to share My deepest thoughts with you. My Word is Spirit-breathed, for “no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.” 2 Peter 1:20-21. So My Spirit reveals to you My Words and unfolds them for you so you too can walk in wisdom, peace, and live days of Heaven upon the earth.
And there is even more, He prays for you and in you when you do not know how to pray as you ought in perfect prayers revealing My Will for your life in a mystery of spirit tongues and songs that He will interpret for you as you give them utterance. Romans 8:26-28. And those who are My children are led by My Spirit. Romans 8:14. He leads you in the way you should go by My Word as a light to your path and a lamp to your feet. He gives you gifts as well, grace gifts, for the benefit of all, as He wills—the gift of the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healings, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, various kinds of tongues, and the interpretation of tongues. 1 Corinthians 12:8-10. And His divine life, like the sap in the vine, causes you as the branch to produce fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23.
And He gives life, strength and energy to your mortal body as well, “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to (quicken) your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Romans 8:11.
The Holy Spirit is the gift that Jesus came to give you, the living water that would spring up to eternal life and bring you days of Heaven on earth that He offered the Samaritan woman by the well if she would only ask Him for a drink. First He had to sanctify you and cleanse you from all sin as if it had never been in you at all and then I raised you up with Him to receive My Spirit. Jesus as your representative, savior, and Lord received Him from Me as Son of Man and poured Him on you as His brethren in the world, His body on earth. And there is so much to tell you about this anointing but you cannot bear it now. But as you walk along the way led by My Spirit He will reveal more and more to you as you are ready.
But My question, and challenge, for you today is do you make use of so great a Counselor and Guide within you? Or are you constantly seeking to solve things in your life and those for whom you are responsible by your own intellect and that of other men? Are you seeking counselors who do not even believe in My Word and say I do not exist as your helpers and teachers? Are you walking with the worldly and drowning out the promptings of the Holy Spirit and rejecting them when He tries to tell you the way you should go? For My wisdom often seems like foolishness to the worldly minded. Who of the world would believe you give to receive? Who would believe if you lay down your life for others you will gain all?
If you desire to live days of Heaven on earth and to have fruitful lives that gain rewards in My Kingdom YOU MUST HEAR FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT. I have given Him to you why don’t you hear what His Word is to the churches? For YOU are the body of Christ, you are the church. “So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:19-22.
Make use of the resources I give you. You have within you the Wonderful Counselor. Consult Him. Let Him guide you to all truth, teach you all things, lead you, and tell you of things to come. He is the Spirit of Truth. You have Him. He can do far more than you ask or think. Open wide your heart and let Me enlarge it. You have Heaven within you at your disposal. It has pleased Me to give you My Son, My Spirit, and My Kingdom.
I have seated you with Christ in heavenly places to hear heavenly things. I have blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the Kingdom in Christ. The power within you is beyond all you can ask or imagine, by My Word of power I created the universe, sustain all things, and raised Christ from the dead and seated Him and you who believe in His Name in Heaven with Me forever. Receive the Holy Spirit and do not grieve Him, quench Him, limit Him or ignore Him. Remember, I dwelt in the midst of My people when I brought them out of Egypt to guide them to the promised land but they spurned and limited Me and remained in the wilderness until they died according to their words that were stout against Mine. Do not be like that. Fan the gift into flame. Inquire and aspire.
I love you and that is why I gave you Jesus to give you the gift of My Holy Spirit. Learn to be led. When you call to Me I will answer you and tell you great and mighty things you cannot know. Learn how to listen. I will teach you if you will draw close to Me. You are a house of God and a gate of Heaven, use your gate to let Heaven into your life and then open your gate to release Heaven into the earth. My Son, as your good Shepherd, leads you in and leads you out.
“I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.” John 10:9-11.
