“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:19-21.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Today as we continue the sermon of the heart, known as the Sermon on the Mount, we come across teaching on treasure. a heart focused on the treasure.
What is and where is your treasure? That is an important question for you to consider. Because where your treasure is, there your heart is also.
Treasure is what you consider valuable and precious. It is a word that brings excitement, anticipation, and joy with it. People go on perilous missions across oceans in ships seeking treasure. People will go gold mining seeking treasure. Treasure is usually viewed as things of this world. Treasure is viewed as something that makes you rich and adds no sorrow with it.
But what if you found a treasure that not only made you wealthy in material things but also gave you perfect health, successful enterprises, strong and healthy children, defeat of your enemies, abundant crops, authority, renewal of youth, great prosperity and peace in all aspects of your life physical, mental, relationships, and spiritual, perfect provision that did not cease or come to an end, and perfect protection and deliverance? You may be wondering what that is, but it is not far from any one of you, it is in your mouth and in your heart. Romans 10:8. Do you know what I am speaking of? Yes, it is My Word.
“Now it shall be, if you diligently hear and obey the LORD your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you hear and obey the Word of the LORD your God:
Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.
Blessed shall be the offspring of your body and the produce of your ground and the offspring of your beasts, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock.
Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
The LORD shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they will come out against you one way and will flee before you seven ways.
The LORD will command the blessing upon you in your barns and in all that you put your hand to, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, as He swore to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways. So all the peoples of the earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will be afraid of you.
The LORD will make you abound in prosperity, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your beast and in the produce of your ground, in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you.
The LORD will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
The LORD will make you the head and not the tail, and you only will be above, and you will not be underneath, if you listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, which I charge you today, to observe them carefully, and do not turn aside from any of the Words which I command you today, to the right or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.” Deuteronomy 28:1-14.
The wise choice would be if you realized your treasure is My Word. In keeping My Word is great reward. I advised Joshua that My Word was his key to make his way prosperous and successful. I told Moses and the Israelites that if they would hear and obey My Words the blessings of great prosperity, perfect provision, perfect health, successful enterprises, strong and healthy children, defeat of their enemies, abundant crops, authority, and perfect protection and deliverance would come upon them and overtake them. Deuteronomy 28:1-14.
I send My Word to heal you and deliver you from your destructions. Psalm 107:20. My Words are life to those who find them and health to all their flesh. Proverbs 4:21. And Jesus promised you that if you treasure and keep My Words, I will love you and He will love you and We will come to make our dwelling with you. John 14:23. If you remain in My Words and My Words remain in you, ask what you will and it will be done for you. John 15: 11.
My Word is treasure. My Word made flesh contains all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge and in Him you are made complete. My Words do not return to Me void but achieve the purpose for which I send them, which is to heal, to prosper, to direct, to teach, and to deliver. My Words are Spirit and life and they are the Words of eternal life. My Words are not idle words but are your very life. If you build your life on the rock of hearing and doing My Words no storm can take you down and nothing can shake you.
“I have not departed from the command of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.” Job 23:12. “Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You.” Psalm 119:11.
The incorruptible seed of My Word has the power to regenerate you and give you new birth. My Words are powerful and sustain the universe in place. My Word is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12.
My Words create and sustain. I made everything that is made with My Word. My Word is the seed that contains the power to produce the promise that is in it. My Word is the building block that designed, built and shaped everything physical and spiritual.
The centurion who approached Jesus to request healing for his servant understood this. He told Jesus to just say the Word and his boy would be healed. There is enough power in My Word to create planets and light the universe and beyond.
Why do so many people, even believers, refuse to treasure and use My Word? I have given you the Sword of the Spirit, which is My Word, to take down the devil and all the evil and curses he brings.
I have put My Words in your mouth so that you can plant and establish things on earth. Whatever is bound in Heaven you can bind on earth (the curse, that is, poverty, lack, sickness, pain, and eternal death) and whatever is loosed in Heaven, you can loose on earth (the Blessing, that is, abundance, provision, health, freedom from pain, and eternal life). And how do you do it? By using My Words that contain the promise you want to sow and grow. Receive My implanted Word that saves your soul and cleanses you of impurity to be fruitful and then speak it and do it to be prosperous in all that you do.
Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in [w]humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. . . But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in whatever he does. James 1:21-25.
My Word is living and working. If you understand this, you will delight in My Word as if finding hidden treasure, and you will meditate in it day and night. You will become like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaves do not wither; and in whatever you do you will prosper. Psalm 1:1-3. Do not allow My Word to depart from your heart and your mind, keep it always before your eyes, if you want a life filled with treasure. Fill your heart with the treasure of My Word and store that up more than the things of the world. My Word benefits you not only in this life but in the life to come.
The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil; for his mouth speaks from that which fills his heart. Luke 6:45.
By your words you are acquitted and by your words you are condemned. Death and life are in the power of your tongue. And so are limitless treasures.
Earthly treasure is fleeting and never has the power in itself to keep creating wealth in your life. But My Word does. The true treasure you are all searching for is in your mouth and in your heart, it is My Word.
For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it. Deuteronomy 30:11-14.
For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; so will My Word be which goes forth from My mouth. It will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:10-11.
I love you. You are My treasure. If My Word is your treasure, then I am your treasure, for I am My Word. And if I am your treasure, you have EVERYTHING. For everything is Mine. If you abide in My Word, you abide in Me, the Most High, and nothing evil can reach you. My Word is the greatest treasure of all and I have put My Words in your mouth and that is My Covenant with you. Isaiah 59:21.
