With respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. Romans 4:20-21.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Never speak doubt and unbelief. If you do, you will have no relief. You will not be at peace. And you will decrease rather than increase.
And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient? So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief. Hebrews 3:18-19.
When I have very clearly given you a promise or a direction in My Word and you speak against it in doubt and unbelief, I call that disobedience. And it does not please Me. Why? Because then you draw back from your calling and block Me giving you the blessing I so long to give you.
Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. For yet in a very little while, He who is coming will come, and will not delay. But My righteous one shall live by faith; and if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him. Hebrews 10:35-38.
It kept the Israelites that I redeemed out of Egypt out of the Promised Land that I had planned to give them in all its abundance since the foundation of the world. But they refused to receive My gift. It is like the parable of the King who prepared a marvelous wedding feast for His Son with everything the very best and all the guests had to do was come and partake of the wondrous fare but they refused the invitation!
And with respect to the descendants of Abraham that I redeemed out of Egypt, I so wanted to give them the beautiful land to which I had led Abraham where they would all live as kings and priests. I shared My wonderful plan with Abraham when I first cut covenant with him and then I reaffirmed it to Isaac and Jacob. And when I introduced Myself to Moses, I shared it immediately with him as well. But the ones I invited never entered and enjoyed it with Me. They blocked it by doubt and unbelief which caused them to grumble, complain, and totally stress out with no peace. So their doubt and unbelief of My promises grieved them and grieved Me.
Doubt and unbelief do not make anyone happy. In fact they drag you down into the pit of despair, and that is just where the devil wants you, bowed down to him in fear that he knows will cripple your fruitfulness and thwart My plan for your life. He is pleased in a perverted way, misery loves company. He has no joy since he lost his purpose and place and he wants you to lose yours as well. Deception is his way of operating.
But you who love My Word should not be unaware of his tactics. You have much more revealed to you than Abraham did.
And Jesus answered saying to them, “Have faith in God. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. Mark 11:22-23.
If believing in your heart and speaking with your mouth to the mountain that is in the way of your goals and dreams removes it, and I assure you it will, then know without a doubt that speaking doubt and unbelief will raise up the mountain that holds you back even where no mountain was there before.
Doubt and unbelief will put your life not only on hold, but will cause you to retreat. And retreat means to go backward to a place you were before and not advance to where you should be.
Seeing this, the disciples were amazed and asked, “How did the fig tree wither all at once?” And Jesus answered and said to them, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it will happen. And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Matthew 21:21-22.
But what does that tell you? Doubt and unbelief keep you from receiving and achieving.
After I raised Jesus from the dead, a number of the disciples, including the women, saw Him and ran to tell the others, but the others refused to believe them even though Jesus had told them beforehand that He would be crucified, die, and rise on the third day. When Jesus appeared to all of them that evening of the day I raised Him He did not compliment them on their doubt and unbelief.
Afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen. Mark 16:14,
And then He asked them a question,
And He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?” Luke 24:38.
Many people say that is just the way they are and they cannot believe, but that is not true. It is another deception of the devil. Anything you hear enough and get full enough of will become what you believe and what you speak. The devil kept after Adam and Eve about My Word not to eat of the fruit of the knowledge of good AND evil, until they believed they could without harm. They were listening to the wrong voice.
And here is the answer that Jesus gave the troubled disciples and you today that do not see Him with your physical eyes or touch the wounds in His hands as they did:
Now He said to them, “These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Messiah would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day, and that repentance for forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things. And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.” Luke 24:44-49.
And there is the answer to doubt and unbelief. And it is not just praying that I increase your faith. I have told you many times how to increase your faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing, and if it is faith in My Word you are seeking it better be My Word you are hearing, and specifically My Word concerning Christ, but that actually is the entire Bible.
Be careful what you hear, what you are allowing yourself to listen to and feed upon, for that is what you will get full of. If it is the words of godless philosophies, sexual immorality, and self-improvement by your own power you are listening to the wrong voice, the devil already made Adam and Eve fall from a life of blessing to a life of toil and sweat that took them nowhere good with that one.
And even the Pharisees got into doubt and unbelief by failing to understand Scripture about Jesus and My power. You will notice, in the upper room that evening of the first day of the week as on the Road to Emmaus earlier that day, it was the revealing of Jesus as the Messiah in Moses (the Torah, the first five books of the Bible), the prophets (all the prophets books), and the Scripture (psalms, proverbs, historical books, and everything else), that turned doubting and unbelieving hearts into hearts on fire with faith that were willing to go out to the whole world to share this wondrous truth of salvation, forgiveness, and everlasting life that are in Jesus from beginning in Genesis to the ending in the book of Revelation. Only the Lamb who was slain since the foundation of the world can break the seals for you.
Get full of the anointed Word concerning Christ and full of the Holy Spirit, who testifies to Jesus, and there will be no room left for doubt and unbelief. Jesus is the fulfillment of the Law and the prophets. In seeing Him you see Me, all My Covenant Names in action among you.
When you read Scripture you need a guide, and I have given you one right inside your spirit, and He is My Spirit and the Spirit of Jesus. And He will guide you to all truth. And it is My Word that is truth and it is My Word that sanctifies you, cleans and renews your mind, and sets you free from all deception. The truth sets you free. Free from doubt and unbelief. All Scripture is Spirit-breathed for it is from My mouth and My Spirit breathes it into you.
“Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who love Him.” For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God. 1 Corinthians 2:9-12.
But a natural man, that is, one who is still under the dominion of Satan and has not been born again by the imperishable seed of My Word, does not accept the things of the Spirit, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. Do not yoke yourself up with unbelievers, they will lead you into doubt and unbelief for they question the things of the Spirit and even deride them.
But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, that they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. And have mercy on some, who are doubting; save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh. Jude 1:17-23.
So stay away from the mockers, the worldly enticers and talkers, teaching you to follow your lusts with no regard to the sacredness of your life and the lives of others, which are forever. They cause divisions in nations but also in the church if they wheedle and finagle their way in.
Your Words were found and I ate them, and Your Words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I have been called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts. I did not sit in the circle of merrymakers, nor did I exult. Because of Your hand upon me I sat alone. Jeremiah 15:16-17.
Depart, depart, go out from there, touch nothing unclean; go out of the midst of her, purify yourselves, you who are the vessels of the LORD. But you will not go out in haste, nor will you go as fugitives;for the LORD will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard. Isaiah 52:11-12.
When you doubt My promises it just means you are not established in My Word and you are not established in the gift of righteousness I have given you in Christ. If you receive the abundance of grace that I offer you in Christ and the gift of righteousness, you will reign in life through Him. Romans 5:17.
And now you know how to take care of doubt and unbelief. Get busy reading, hearing, meditating upon, speaking, and doing My Word—total immersion which is also abiding in the vine, but is a specific way, and that is looking for Jesus in everything you read in the Bible and you will find Him. After all, Jesus told you that Moses wrote about Him, that Abraham saw His day and rejoiced (I taught Abraham the gospel ahead of time), and that Isaiah saw His glory. And David wrote about Him as well. Just read Psalm 22 and Psalm 23. And Daniel saw visions of Him and knew the exact time and day He would come to Jerusalem in triumph and then be cut down. And Micah told of his birth, Zechariah of His ride on the donkey’s colt into Jerusalem, and I could go on but I would have to tell you of every line in the Bible for I breathed the Words by My Spirit and My Spirit testifies to Jesus, and that is the spirit of prophecy.
And why is it so important to see Jesus? Because then you know that I have put you right with Me and all your sins are gone, that you have My own righteousness. And once you come to know and believe in the love I have for you then you will never doubt or fear again.
But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39.
I love you. There is so much more I could tell you but you cannot bear it all now. But has your capacity grows, as you enlarge your heart with My Word and with My Spirit, you will get more and more like Me and less and less like the devil. Doubt and unbelief have no part in a believer. Cast them out, better yet, just get so full of My Word and of My Spirit that there is no place for them to lodge.
