And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, with all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints. Ephesians 6:17-18.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Saints wield the Sword of the Spirit. They have it ever ready.
“The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, Romans 10:8.
“For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it. Deuteronomy 30:11-14.
I call My Word a sword and depict it as a sword coming out of My Son’s mouth that undoes and conquers Satan and his evil works.
For the Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12.
In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength. Revelation 1:16.
The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy (undo, untie) the works of the devil. 1 John 3:8.
And My Word goes to work the moment it is spoken with faith.
He sends forth His command to the earth; His Word runs very swiftly. Psalm 147:15.
He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Psalm 107:20.
So will My Word be which goes forth from My mouth; it will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11.
My Word is truth and all of My armor is truth around you as a shield, a buckler, a breastplate, and a helmet. It is the shoes you walk in and the girdle of strength and self-control around you so you can run the race of your beautiful life with no encumbrance slowing you down and produce the fruit of the Spirit wherever you are growing, walking or touching. By touching I mean by the media that reaches to places you have not trod by your spoken and written Word you are wielding through the internet.
And the last part of the armor I give you by My Word remaining (continuing, abiding, living) in you and you remaining (continuing, abiding, living) in My Word is the Sword of the Spirit which is My Word out of your mouth in faith.

In Greek, the language in which I purposed to have the New Testament written in for many reasons, as I had the Old Testament in My language of Hebrew, there are different words that you see translated as Word that make a distinction that is subtle but is important. My Word can named as “logo” or “rhema.” When I tell you that the Sword of the Spirit is My Word and that faith comes by hearing My Word, I use the Word “rhema,” when I tell you that the Word became flesh it is “logo.”
Rhema (ῥῆμα) means a thing spoken, a word as command, report, or promise. Rhḗma is from rhéō, which means “to speak,” that is, a spoken word, made by the living voice. Rhema is from a modified form of ereó (ἐρεῶ) which means to call, say, speak of, tell, command, denoting speech in progress.
Rhema signifies that My Word has come alive in the one who heard it so as to inbirth faith, a fully persuaded faith by revelation and impartation received. Mary used the word rhema when she spoke “Let it be done to me according to your Word.” And when I tell you that faith comes by hearing My Word I use the word “rhema.”
Logo can also mean all those things but it also refers to the written Word and the Word going forth as being taught, preached, and delivered. In some, even though they physically hear the Word (logo) it does not ignite revelation power in them (rhema). Rhema is hearing with spiritual ears and seeing with spiritual sight, the eyes and ears of your heart. And that is where revelation power ignites, in the heart.
You should never take My Word lightly, it is the power of My armor and your weapon of power against Satan, the demonic unclean spirits, and all the unclean things they bring, such as illness, disease, pain, poverty and lack, and eternal death.
Jesus told you who follow Him that He sends you forth as I sent Him forth to witness to Me, to save the lost and to undo the works of Satan, “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.” Luke 10:19.
And that power is My Word as a sword in you mouth just as it was and is in the mouth of Jesus.
And it must become as much as part of you as it was of Him. My Word cleaving to your tongue becoming one flesh.
He arose and struck the Philistines until his hand was weary and his hand cleaved [the word here in Hebrew is dabaq (דָּבַק): to cling, cleave, keep close, it is the same word I use to describe how Adam and Eve became one flesh when they joined (dabaq) together, Genesis 2:24] to the sword, and the Lord brought about a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to strip the slain. 2 Samuel 23:10.
Why must everything obey and bow to My Word?
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. Genesis 1:1-3.
My Word made everything and sustains everything. My Word is life and breath and being. My Word is living and active, always at work to make things work together for good for those who love Me and are called according to divine Kingdom purpose.
My Word has My faith and My power in it. My Word is final authority. It is a Word of power, it is a seed of power, and when My Word connects with your faith the power goes out into you to do its work in you and through you to do a work in others who will receive it as well. My Word spoken with faith is also the voice of authority that every created thing must obey.
The life in the flesh as one of you of My Son demonstrates this clearly. He had perfect faith. By that I mean His faith was not contaminated by any doubt, unbelief, fear, or double mindedness. This was because, though he was tempted as being in the flesh and emptying Himself of His powers as God to humble Himself to experience life and death as you do so that He would save you as your substitute and be a faithful and merciful High Priest able to sympathize with your weakness, He never sinned or gave Satan any place in Him. And He never spoke of His own initiative (that is, from His flesh and emotions (venting as it is called)) but was careful only to speak My Words for in them is eternal life.
For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me. John 12:49-50.
He is your teacher, your Shepherd and your great High Priest. Listen to Him, follow Him, imitate Him, and renew your mind in My Word for I have given you the mind of Christ. You have the same Spirit, the same anointing of power on you.
“And behold, I am sending forth the promise of My Father upon you; but you are to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.” Luke 24:49.
Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, “Which,” He said, “you heard of from Me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now . . . you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:3-5,8.
And is the power is love. And that is the highest and strongest power there is for I am love and all power resides in and flows from Me. Your strength and power is in and from Me. “Speaking the truth in love . . .” is powerful. Ephesians 4:15 (“but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ”).
You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, [and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38.
How did Jesus use the Sword of the Spirit? He spoke My Word as command to all things that were out of line with (in disobedience to) My Word. He rebuked fever and cast it out, spoke to blind eyes to see, to deaf ears to hear, to withered limbs and bent over bones to be made whole and strong, commanded storms to be still and calm, cast out demons, and multiplied provisions (undid lack). And being so connected to My Word by faith, the power of My Word to heal and raise up flowed through Him as a superconductor into everyone that so much as touched His cloak with faith. Like the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years and all those who just sought to touch Him and were healed.
He knew how to wield the Sword. And He wielded it through continuous prayer and petition which then directed His commands.
If you wield a tool or a weapon, you handle it effectively, skillfully. And you don’t just have to wield something physical; you can also wield or exert influence or authority. Wield is frequently followed by the word power. And this is what the Sword of the Spirit is about, it is not a physical one you see in your hand, but it is a spiritual one you hold in the hand of your tongue. In the spirit it is visible coming out of the mouth of Jesus and in the spirit that is what Satan should see coming out of your mouth. And that is why in visions of angels revealed in the Bible, angels, those of My Host, are wielding swords.
Bless the LORD, you His angels, mighty in strength, who perform His Word, obeying the voice of His Word! Bless the LORD, all you His hosts, you who serve Him, doing His will. Psalm 103:20-21.
Satan’s words if he can put them in your mouth become swords of destruction for you and others.
There is one who speaks rashly like the thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Truthful lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only for a moment. Proverbs 12:18-19.
Death and life, for you and others, is in the hand of your tongue. Proverbs 18:21. Which sword will you wield? If you are willing and obey you will eat the best of the land, but if you refuse and rebel you will be devoured by the sword. Isaiah 1:19-20. Your tongue can bring healing and life, or destruction and death. Choose life that you and your descendants can live.
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your seed, by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days. Deuteronomy 30:19-20.
And what was the prophecy I gave Isaiah about Jesus when I sent Him to earth as one like you on a rescue mission?
He has made My mouth like a sharp sword, In the shadow of His hand He has concealed Me; and He has also made Me a select arrow, He has hidden Me in His quiver. Isaiah 49:2.
A Sword in His mouth and shot out to the world as an arrow from My secret place. And you are in Him, commanded to do His works and greater and to cast out demons in His Name and lay your hands on the sick so that My healing power in you by My Spirit flows out in a continuous current to those in need. Rivers of living water flowing from your inmost being. And whatever fills your heart will come out of your mouth.
For the mouth speaks out of that which fills the heart. The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil. But I tell you that every idle word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:34-37.
The sword that comes out of your mouth shows what is in your heart. Be careful of curse and swear words, obscene words, angry works, rude works, these are not the sword you want to see in the spiritual picture of your life.
He also loved cursing, so it came to him; and he did not delight in blessing, so it was far from him. But he clothed himself with cursing as with his garment, and it entered into his body like water and like oil into his bones. Let it be to him as a garment with which he covers himself, and for a belt with which he constantly girds himself. Psalm 109:17-19.
Satan will give you his armor as well. He does not create, but he wants to be like Me, so he mimics (mocks) Me in a perverted way. In the last days many will be misled that what he is doing is from Me and accept it.
And that is why you need My armor on you for I want you to be aware and prepared for the tactics of the devil. But if you continue (remain, abide, live) in My Word, you will truly be My disciple, and then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.
With the helmet of Salvation on your head you can take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and then you can use the Sword of the Spirit to answer it with the truth and cast that thought out. I have given you authority to tread on the devil and his demons. And you do this by speaking the truth, commanding whatever is in disobedience to My Word out, cast it down, cast your care on Me in prayer and give thanks for the victory before you see it and keep up the thanksgiving until your answer manifests.
The officers stationed themselves behind all the people of Judah who were rebuilding the wall. The laborers who carried materials worked with one hand and held a weapon with the other. And each of the builders worked with his sword strapped at his side. Nehemiah 4:16-18.
I love you. Make the Sword of the Spirit your tongue by storing My Word in your heart as treasure, as your light, as your guide, but also as your armor for perfect protection in My secret place. A polished arrow in My quiver always ready for Me to shoot forth at the appointed time to take down enemy strongholds, bring good news of salvation, and to cut down every thought, word, unclean spirit, and move of the enemy and anything other thing that lifts its head contrary to My Word.
