Indeed, as I live, all the earth will be filled with the glory of the LORD. Numbers 14:21.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
I am giving you the opportunity to be filled with My glory. Jesus prayed for you the night when He was betrayed, that you, and all who would hear and believe in Him down the generations, would have His glory.
The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. John 17:22-24.
And I always heard Him and when I hear your prayers, then you know that what you have asked for is yours.
These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. 1 John 5:13-15.
So My glory is yours in Him.
Let Me remind you of Jesus at the tomb of His friend, Lazarus:
So Jesus, again being deeply moved within, came to the tomb. Now it was a cave, and a stone was lying against it. Jesus said, “Remove the stone.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there will be a stench, for he has been dead four days.” Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. I knew that You always hear Me; but because of the people standing around I said it, so that they may believe that You sent Me.” When He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth.” The man who had died came forth, bound hand and foot with wrappings, and his face was wrapped around with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.” John 11:38-44.
Jesus told Martha that if she believed she would see My glory. And He told her that He is the resurrection and the life. And when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, all there gave Me glory.
You will see that when Jesus performed miracles of healing and deliverance, all gave glory to Me. Glory goes with good.
Moses asked to see My glory. He had seen great signs and miracles and he had experienced My glory on Mt. Sinai and upon the desert, later My glory would fill the tabernacle and guide them day and night in the pillar of cloud with the fire within it. Many years later when Solomon built My House in Jerusalem, My glory filled that house as well.
I told My prophet Habakkuk that the knowledge of My glory would cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. And I told Moses that the earth would be filled with My glory. And when the sky lights up from the east to the west and the Son of Man appears riding on the clouds of Heaven My glory will be seen by all.
“I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven one like a Son of Man was coming, and He came up to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. And to Him was given dominion, glory and a kingdom.” Daniel 7:13-14.
And what are they crying out in Heaven before My throne?
“To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.” Revelation 5:13.
What is My glory?
When Moses asked to see My glory I defined it as My goodness, and it is experienced in the power of My presence, for I am love. In seeing Jesus, you see Me, and He is the radiance of My glory and the exact representation of My nature, and He upholds all things by the Word of His power. Hebrews 1:3. He is My Word made flesh and I made everything though Him and for Him.
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14.
Jesus is My glory and the hope of your glory, and what did He do with His life that gave glory that all saw?
You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38,
He went about doing good. And that is back to what I told Moses when he asked to see My glory, it is My goodness that comes with the power of My presence. In My presence is fullness of joy because that is what goodness gives, joy.
Then Moses said, “I pray You, show me Your glory!” And He said, “I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. Exodus 33:18-19.
But I added a caveat.
But He said, “You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!” Exodus 33:20.
You cannot gaze upon My glory and live in the limits of your earthly body. My glory moves at the speed of light, which would tear you asunder. Just a glimpse of the glory of the risen Christ knocked My apostle Paul to the ground and made him unable to see for three days.
But I had an answer for Moses about how he could see My glory, for he spent 40 days and nights in the cloud of My glory with Me.
Then the LORD said, “Behold, there is a place by Me, and you shall stand there on the rock; and it will come about, while My glory is passing by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and cover you with My hand until I have passed by. Then I will take My hand away and you shall see My back, but My face shall not be seen.” Exodus 33:21-23.
The rock that followed them was Christ and I seal you in Him when you believe in the good news of Salvation. And those who are baptized in Christ have clothed themselves in Him. And once you have believed and received Him as your Lord you are in Him, hidden deep in the secret place in the cleft of the rock.
“O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the secret place of the steep pathway, let Me see your face, let Me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.” Song of Songs 2:14.
Jesus is in you and this is the hope of your glory. It is a mystery but it is being revealed by My Spirit in you.
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18.
You can gaze upon My glory in your savior, Jesus Christ, who shields you from the wrath to come.
For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:16.
And why do so many fail to experience My glory, that is My goodness, filling their lives? For I promised you that My people shall be filled to overflowing with My goodness. Jeremiah 31:14.
And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4.
How are you qualified to be filled with My glory? There are three specific ways My glory manifested in the Old Testament. And just as then, so it is now, for I am the same yesterday, today and forever. And those in Covenant, old and new, all qualify if they seek Me.
The first time My glory appeared in visible form as a shining cloud was upon the desert for My people after I had redeemed them from their slavery in Egypt, and My glory appeared when I gave them the promise of the Manna, the bread of life, that would come down from Heaven and feed them, now that they were redeemed, on their journey to the Promised Land.
Then Moses said to Aaron, “Say to all the congregation of the sons of Israel, ‘Come near before the LORD, for He has heard your grumblings.’” It came about as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the sons of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud. And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “I have heard the grumblings of the sons of Israel; speak to them, saying, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread; and you shall know that I am the LORD your God.’” Exodus 16:9-12.
And the next day, on the dewfall, the bread of Heaven fell. Manna. And it did not stop until forty years later when they at last followed Me into the promised land and ate the produce thereof.
And go forward to the city of Bethlehem, which in Hebrew means house of bread, the night your Savior, Messiah, and Lord, the Bread of Life and the Light of the world, was born into the world according to the flesh, and what filled the night sky again announcing that I had heard your cries of slavery to sin and death and I sent the answer to the city called the House of Bread, the city of David who sang to the praise of My glory.
In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth, good will towards men.” Luke 2:8-14.
And the next time My glory appeared was when I came down and gave My Word to My people on Mt. Sinai after they had been redeemed from slavery and were on their way to the Promised Land. Just as you who are in Christ Jesus are now, that is, to My Kingdom.
“Come up to Me on the mountain and remain there, and I will give you the stone tablets with the law and the commandment which I have written for their instruction.” So Moses arose with Joshua his servant, and Moses went up to the mountain of God. But to the elders he said, “Wait here for us until we return to you. And behold, Aaron and Hur are with you; whoever has a legal matter, let him approach them.” Then Moses went up to the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain. The glory of the LORD rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days; and on the seventh day He called to Moses from the midst of the cloud. And to the eyes of the sons of Israel the appearance of the glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the mountain top. Moses entered the midst of the cloud as he went up to the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights. Exodus 24:12-18.
The glory comes with My Word, spoken and written. When Moses spent time with Me in My Word, hearing Me speak and writing it down, his face became radiant, reflecting My glory that is in My Word. For I am My Word.
The next time My glory appears, it is as I hid Moses in the cleft of the rock, which we discussed already in this Life Lesson. And that is the place at My side that I could raise Moses to in order to see My glory in that secret place. And that rock was Christ. And that is how you see My glory now, IN CHRIST. It is there you can gaze upon My glory in His face and live. This happened in Christ Himself on the mountain of the transfiguration when My glory cloud covered them and My glory shone through His humanity. As the fire in the cloud over the tabernacle of Moses. And that cloud led them, as Christ your good Shepherd leads you, your hope of glory.
And the next time My glory appears is when Moses erected the completed dwelling place, that is, the tabernacle, where I would dwell among them as they journeyed through the wilderness to the promised land.
Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Throughout all their journeys whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the sons of Israel would set out; but if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out until the day when it was taken up. For throughout all their journeys, the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel. Exodus 40:34-38.
And later it filled the tabernacle and spilled out into the camp when they offered the burnt offering, the sin offering, and the peace offering for the people.
Then Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them, and he stepped down after making the sin offering and the burnt offering and the peace offerings. 23 Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting. When they came out and blessed the people, the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people. 24 Then fire came out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the portions of fat on the altar; and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces. Leviticus 9:22-24.
And the next time My glory appears in in the temple built by Solomon, which became My dwelling place among My people now that they no longer traveled in tents to the promised land, but lived in the beautiful homes I gave them in the promised land.
Thus all the work that Solomon performed for the house of the LORD was finished. And Solomon brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, even the silver and the gold and all the utensils, and put them in the treasuries of the house of God . . . When the priests came forth from the holy place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, without regard to divisions), and all the Levitical singers, Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and kinsmen, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps and lyres, standing east of the altar, and with them one hundred and twenty priests blowing trumpets in unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and when they praised the LORD saying, “He indeed is good for His lovingkindness is everlasting,” then the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God. 2 Chronicles 5:1-14.
In the New Covenant you are My dwelling place in the Spirit and My glory fills your spirit.
Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16.
And again:
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
You can be filled with My glory for all the qualifications are there: the Bread of Life (your Covenant meal with Jesus), My Word both written, spoken, and manifested in Jesus, you are in Christ, the rock, He is the burnt offering, the sin offering, and the peace offering fulfilled, and you are My temple. So you have the glory in you, but do you know how I define the glory now? Being filled with the Holy Spirit and My grace.
You have it all, no longer hidden in a cloud but manifest in My Spirit and filling you with grace. Grace on top of grace, which is glory on top of glory.
I love you. Be filled with the knowledge of My glory as the waters cover the sea. And that is the well spring within you leaping up to eternal life and pouring as rivers out of you to a thirsty world for Jesus has been glorified. And you too in Him.
Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. John 7:37-39.
Jesus baptizes you in the Holy Spirit and fire! The fire is no longer covered by the cloud. Glory!
