From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלוהים) says:
You may be in what seems like a massive storm right now, and would like to describe your life as David did at one time: “The cords of death encompassed me, and the torrents of destruction assailed and terrified me. The cords of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of death confronted me.” Psalm 18:4-5. And what did he do? He called on Me to deliver him, “In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God for help.” Psalm 18:5-6. And He goes on to say I heard His cry and rent the heavens to come to save Him. Psalm 18:6-10. “He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy.” Psalm 18:16-17. “He rescued me, because He delighted in me.” Psalm 18:19.
How can you be strong and courageous in a storm? Same way Jesus was, by knowing Me, but more than that, for even the demons know Me and they tremble, it is by knowing you are doing My Will and walking in My ways. The demons know they are not doing that. Adam and Eve knew when they were not doing that. They got trapped in rebellion with their master, the prince of demons.
But thinking of what you do in a storm, does this remind you of an incident with Jesus and Peter? Everything in the Bible is for your edification, comfort and exhortation. It is a book of prophetic utterance to build you into the wonderful person I made you to be. You may feel like Peter in that storm on the Sea of Galilee when he saw My Son walking to the tossing boat on the water. Peter wanted to get to Jesus. And most of you are seeking the same. He is your Savior. The hand I reach down to save you.
So Peter started to walk above the troubled waters to Jesus and the waves began to break over him instead of under him. He started out with confidence to go to Jesus but soon the threatening circumstances coming against him caused him to take his eyes off Jesus and start to sink under the storm.
David experienced this in other ways, hiding in caves from Saul and the armies of Israel as if a fugitive though I had anointed him king by My prophet Samuel. And he sang, “All Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me.” Psalm 42:7. David’s soul was in despair. Psalm 42:5. So troubled over his life which had turned from triumphant joy to fear and despair.
Do you feel that way? But I have good news. Let us go back to Peter and Jesus. Peter began to sink but he cried out, “Lord, save me!” Matthew 14:30. And what happened? IMMEDIATELY Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him and when they got in the boat the wind died down. Matthew 14:31-32.
Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:10.
I have hold of you. I will take care of you, not only in Heaven but now and forever. Do not ever allow yourself to determine a situation is hopeless.
I am the LORD, I have called You in righteousness, I will also hold You by the hand and watch over you. Isaiah 42:6. When you fall, you will not be hurled headlong, because I am the One who holds your hand. Psalm 37:24.
You have hope. More than you know. Jesus is your hope and you have Him as My gift to you. And hope, confident expectation of good, never disappoints.
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13.
You are forgiven, loved, and I save you from all your distress, all your problems are going down like dominoes, you are cleared and I am your righteousness. No weapon formed against you will prosper and every tongue that accuses you in judgment, you will condemn. This is the heritage of My servants, and I am your righteousness, your vindication comes from Me. I am with YOU.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you, for I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. You are precious in My sight; you are honored and I love you. Isaiah 43:2-4. Do not fear, I am with you. Isaiah 43:5.
Yes, you could say I am on a rescue mission for those who call upon My Name. All who call on My Name are saved, I give them a way of escape. Just call on My Name in truth. As David put it, “He brought me forth also into a wide and open place.” Psalm 18:19. I make your feet like hind’s feet and set you in high places. Psalm 18:33. I pull you out of the miry swamp and set you high on rock.
I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgression for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins. Isaiah 43:25.
But Jesus said something more to Peter when He pulled out of the ocean and walked him to the boat. “You of little faith, why do you doubt?” Matthew 14:31.
Why did he call Peter of little faith? It is simple, faith is confidence of good results and it is based on what I have promised you in My Word. Jesus had told Peter to come to him when he asked Jesus to do that. If Jesus says “come,” you have to have confidence it will end in a good result.
If you trust Me, I can get you through whatever you are going through victorious and triumphant. Therefore, do not throw away your CONFIDENCE (no matter what the situation—whether it be illness, plagues, pestilence, those coming against you, persecution, or things you have caused by your own sins and negligence) which has GREAT reward. Confidence in Me, that is, in My Words, has GREAT reward.
When you are in a low place it is time to head for the rock that is higher than you.
From the end of the earth I call to You when my heart is faint; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2.
You may think you are at the end of the earth and far from My sight but even there I am with you and My hand has hold of you. I take care of you.
If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me. Psalm 139:9-10.
When you are in a low place, do not stay there. It is time to go higher. To be transfigured Jesus had to go up to pray on a high mountain. My light and My fidelity will lead you on to My holy mountain, to a place of prayer. I give you hinds feet to run upon the mountains that you might see things as I do. When John was exiled to Patmos for preaching about Jesus he could have let himself sink down into hopeless darkness in that barren place, but I invited him higher.
After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things.” Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One sitting on the throne. And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads. Revelation 4:1-4.
My secrets I share with those who love and revere Me, who value My Words and value Me. I value you. Jesus never rejected anyone who came to Him and He never called any person His enemy. In fact, when Judas betrayed Him, He called him His friend. There was one though that He would not tolerate to stay in His presence or in those who came to Him and that was Satan. And Jesus commanded you to cast out the devil and his unclean spirits as well.
Stop seeing defeat and instead see victory.
Look at Joshua and Caleb, all they had at the edge of the land I had promised them as they spied out the walled cities and saw the giants that dwelt there was confidence in My Word of promise for their conquest of the land and victory over what seemed insurmountable odds. And they declared that confidence instead of going along with the fearful words of the others. And I said about Caleb’s confidence, “But My servant Caleb because he has a different spirit and has followed Me fully I will bring into the land which he entered and his descendants shall take possession of it.” Numbers 14:24. Please note that I said he had followed Me fully, but he had not gone into battle yet, in fact he had done nothing to take the country yet. It was his confidence in My Word was all he did but for Me that was enough.
The Israelites that I redeemed out of Egypt with great and mighty works, signs and wonders kept doubting My Words, and grumbling and complaining about everything instead of having one iota of confidence or gratitude. I called doubting My Word and having fear and complaining putting Me to the test. They tested Me though they had seen My works. They never believed in My provision even though I rained down manna and gave them quail and brought water out of rocks. They were always sure they would run out or not have it. In fact, when they all cried in fear all night after the report of the spies of the walled cities and giants in the land that I had promised them, I called them “an evil congregation who are gathered against Me.” Numbers 14:35.
Never doubt My promises. I have promised you in My Word that I will pluck your feet from the snare, rescue you, honor you, heal you, forgive you. I tell you over and over that Christ died for your sins and in Him you are forgiven, blameless, holy and beyond reproach before Me, but many of you keep crying and begging Me to forgive you of sins you already confessed and repented of long ago, or even just today, but that is spurning Me! You are putting Me to the test of whether My Word is true. I have told you that if you confess your sins, I am faithful and just to forgive them and cleanse you of ALL unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. That should settle it. Rejoice in so great a salvation.
For you have need of endurance (Caleb and Joshua waited 40 years to enter the promised land) so that when you have done My Will, you may receive what was promised. For yet in a very little while, Jesus is coming and will not delay, but My righteous one shall live by faith and if he shrinks back (“you of little faith, why did you doubt?), My soul has no pleasure in him (because you have spurned Me and put Me to the test). Peter sank when he drew back and lost confidence.
But you are not one of those who shrinks back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul (in shalom peace that passes all understanding). Now faith is the assurance (confidence) of things hope for, the evidence (title deed) of things not seen. And how do I know you have it? Because I have given you Jesus and He is the author and perfecter of your faith. Jesus helps you in your weaknesses. Remember? The man whose son had the demon that threw him in fire and water whom no one seemed able to cast out, said to Jesus, “ I do believe, help my lack of confidence.” And Jesus came in and filled up what he lacked.
All My promises are “yes” to you in Jesus. You can have confidence that I cause all things to work together for good for you who love Me and are called according to My purpose (and My eternal purpose is to reconcile all to Myself in Christ, Ephesians 3:11-12). Romans 8:28. For those whom I foreknew I also preordained conformed to the image of My Son so He would be the firstborn of many brethren. I called you, justified you and glorified you in Him. Taste and see My goodness. Happy the one who takes refuge in Me. Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:10.
Never throw away your confidence in My Words, it has great reward. You will have the promise in your life if you have confidence no matter what is happening in you and around you, of a good result.
Just come up to the rock that is higher than you. Yes, My Word is your everlasting rock on which you can build and frame your life. It is a stronghold in the time of distress.
I love you. I am the LORD your God, who upholds your right hand, who says to you, “Do not fear, I will help you.” And I mean in everything, from improving your personality to rescuing you from everything and everyone that would harm you, including yourself. And I am your shield from danger, pestilence, disease, depression, addictions, abuse, and stress. Call on Me and I will answer you and strengthen you with My strong right arm. Aren’t you glad that unlike the majority of people I do not keep a record of all the wrongs you have done to Me and the bad things you have said? It is I, even I, who wipes out your sins for My own sake. Your sins and offenses I remember no more. No more. They are gone like the mist in the morning sun, borne by My Son. THERE IS NOTHING BETWEEN US. We are now one in My Son. Remember that. People will never let you free of the evil you have done, but I do in Jesus, and the one the Son sets free is free indeed.
