And Jesus stopped and commanded that he be brought to Him; and when he came near, He questioned him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” Mark 10:41-42.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Looking at the conversations of Jesus you will find that I never refuse anyone anything good, whether it be healing, provision, sight, hearing, salvation, cleansing, or revelation. No question brought to Him went without answer and no comfort needed was refused. He did not come to be served but to serve, to give you His life so you could have life in abundance.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. John 10:10-11.
In seeing Jesus you see Me. He and I are One. And you will find if you look back to the beginning, I never refused anyone who came to Me in faith anything good. I forgave sins, I healed all who were ill, I pulled you out of the pit, whether it be by the jubilee year or promotion to a palace (Joseph and David), I filled your days with good things so your youth is renewed like the eagles. Psalm 103:1-5.
O taste and see that the LORD is good; how blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! O fear the LORD, you His saints; for to those who fear Him there is no want. The young lions do lack and suffer hunger; but they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing. Psalm 34:8-10.
And there is the key, you who seek Me want for no good thing. I withhold nothing from those who seek Me. Seeking is the qualifier, but not just any kind of seeking, but seeking in faith. Herod was seeking to see Jesus, but only out of curiosity not from faith or a heart hungry for the truth, he sought Him to test him and see if he performed on command, and Jesus did not say a word to him. But when Zacchaeus sought to see Jesus, Jesus called him to come down from the tree he had climbed and went to stay with him at his house that day. He had heart hungry for salvation, so I sent Salvation to stay with him at his house that day.
I sought the LORD, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces will never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them. Psalm 34:4-7.
What you seek, you will find. Seek Me while I may be found, call to Me while I am near and I will always answer those whose hearts are genuine, in which there is no guile.
And today’s conversation has to do with a man who when he heard Jesus was near was seeking and calling and he would not give up no matter who told him to keep quiet. He was not going to let his miracle pass him by. And tenacious faith always gets the answer it is seeking.
This conversation occurs near Jericho right before the encounter with Zacchaeus. As Jesus was near (eggízō, from eggýs, “near,” extreme closeness) Jericho, Jesus was walking with His disciples and a large crowd was around Him, also walking along, hoping to touch Him or hear a word from Him. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road begging. Mark 10:46, Luke 18:35. Now hearing a crowd going by, he began to inquire what this was. They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. He got excited and he called out, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Luke 18:36-38; Mark 10:47; Matthew 20:30.
Bartimaeus had heard about Jesus, and what caught his attention was primarily that Jesus healed blind eyes, which was the sign of the Messiah, the Son of David, that had been foretold by the prophets. He had faith that Jesus was the Messiah and Lord, and you see this by the title of “Son of David.” Those who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet; but he kept crying out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Luke 18:39; Mark 10:48; Matthew 20:31. There was no way with the Messiah that close he was going to allow Jesus to pass him by. He was sure if he could get the attention of Jesus, he would receive his sight.
Now faith is the substance (hypostasis (πόστασις,) from hypó, “under” and hístēmi, “to stand,” properly, to possess standing under a guaranteed agreement (“title-deed”); “title” to a promise or property, i.e. a legitimate claim because it literally is “under a legal-standing”– entitling someone to what is guaranteed under the particular agreement) of things hoped for, the conviction (elegchos (ἔλεγχος) a proof, test) of things not seen. For by it the men of old for witness (martureó (μαρτυρέω): to bear witness, testify). Hebrews 11:1-2.
Jesus heard the cry of faith. My ears are specially tuned to the cry of faith, to the cries of My people in distress. When the Israelites began to cry out to Me in their distress as slaves in Egypt, I remembered My Covenant with their forefather Abraham and I came down to redeem them out of slavery to the freedom of the children of God. And I did not lead them out of slavery to go nowhere. I led them out healed and laden with silver and gold to go across the wilderness to the land I had promised Abraham in Covenant for his descendants. And it was a good and fruitful land, flowing with milk and honey, filled with beautiful cities they had not built and large houses filled with good things that they had not gathered, and vineyards and fruit trees they did not plant, and wells they did not dig, and I was giving that all to them freely. But they could only take and receive it by faith, which only Caleb and Joshua had. They took and received possession but the others of their generation did not. I withhold no good thing but the question is “Will you receive it?” If you do not receive a gift, it is never completed and remains with the giver. Faith is important. And Bartimaeus had faith and faith comes with confidence to My throne of grace and receives mercy and finds grace right when needed. But you have to come, you have to call in the promise. It is there for you, but you must call it in by faith. I give it freely but you must take it. And for things promised that you do not see in the natural, it takes faith to step past the natural to take it out of the supernatural. And it comes by calling. Not by begging, whining or blaming, but confidently calling in faith before you see it. Call yourself healed before you see it and it is there for you waiting for your call.
God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being that which does not exist. Romans 4:17.
Imitate Me as My dear children and walk in love. Love trusts and love calls upon the beloved with faith.
At the cry of faith, Jesus stopped and said, “Call him here.” No matter where He was going, faith always stopped Jesus. When He was on His way to Jarius’ house, a touch of faith stopped Him. He is always looking for faith because it is there My power can flow into the earth and bring Kingdom results. If you need healing I do not tell you to come to My throne of grace crawling and begging, no never, I tell you to come boldly with confidence and all freedom of speech bringing My promise of healing in the Scriptures as your title deed and receive it with thanksgiving.
So they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage, stand up! He is calling for you.” Throwing aside his cloak, he jumped up and came to Jesus. When Jesus calls do not say you are too busy and leave Him outside your door. Open the door and He will come in to dine with you and you with Him.
And answering Bartimaeus, Jesus said, “What do you want Me to do for you?”
Now stop there a moment. Jesus is giving him a huge invitation to have anything and everything. And I do that for you every day. If today you hear My voice, harden your hearts. What am I talking about? Hard hearts refuse to believe and receive. They reject the good I want to do for them and attribute evil to Me instead, such as wanting you sick or poor, tormented by the curse. The Israelites that I redeemed out of Egypt hardened their hearts against Me in not believing in My goodness and the truth of My good promises to them, instead they attributed destruction to Me, and thus refused to take all the good things I had prepared for them in the Promised Land. All those wondrous things were just waiting for their faith to show up. Be careful about an evil and doubting heart. They kept testing My goodness and scorning it. But I never stopped being there for them when they called.
And the blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, I want to regain my sight!” And Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has saved you.” Immediately he regained his sight and began following Jesus, glorifying God; and when all the people saw it, they gave praise to God. Luke 18:40-43.
He called Jesus “Rabboni,” which means a master teacher, he followed as one who was a disciple of Jesus to learn from Him and hear his words. He was not one of the twelve but there were many who followed Jesus, crowds who were constantly seeking to find where He was so they could hear His teachings and bring those who needed healing to receive as they had.
In the conversations of Jesus you find miracles of compassion whereby He released My Kingdom benefits on earth by faith. What was bound in Heaven, Jesus bound on earth, and what was loosed in Heaven, Jesus loosed on earth. And He told you who believe in His Name to do the same. Matthew 18:18. He knew Me. I AM the LORD your healer and that I send My Word to heal you and deliver you from your destructions and He is the Word I sent forth from before the world began. He loosed the Kingdom benefit of total health and healing upon the earth wherever He went, but it was only received by those who had faith. Otherwise there was no connection, no conduit, though which the power could flow.
Jesus went out from there and came into His hometown; and His disciples followed Him. When the Sabbath came, He began to teach in the synagogue; and the many listeners were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things, and what is this wisdom given to Him, and such miracles as these performed by His hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not His sisters here with us?” And they took offense at Him. Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and among his own relatives and in his own household.” And He could do no miracle there except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He wondered at their unbelief. Mark 6:1-6.
Make Jesus awed by your great faith, not wondering at your unbelief. You should know Me by now. It has been many years since Jesus so lovingly and graciously revealed Me to you.
He did everything He did filled with love so all He did was fruitful in the lives He touched. Walk in love, it is a pleasing fragrance before Me, as your prayers of love are—they come upon the golden altar as incense before Me.
Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the believers (sanctified ones) on the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the believers, went up before God out of the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it to the earth; and there followed peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake. Revelation 8:3-5.
What is that earthquake?
But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were unfastened. Acts 16:25-26.
Jesus came to set the captives free. Shake off your chains and rise up from the dust. I have redeemed you.
And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the Word of God with boldness. Acts 4:31.
Isn’t it time you shook up the world with My Word and showed them Heaven? Awake sleeper and Christ will give you light.
I love you. I came to light a fire on earth, the fire of love, will you be a torch bearer and light the lamps (spirits) of all that you can reach? One candle can light another that lights another that lights another. I came to make the blind see.
