But I tell you that every idle word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:36-37.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
When you speak, you set spiritual laws in motion. You can hinder My good plan for your life with your own mouth. That is why the wicked cut their life short, they abort My perfect plan with the words of their mouths. With the wicked that is the way they live, but you who are saved should not be getting the same results as the wicked by the words of your mouth. But if you do not understand the dominion authority I gave you from the beginning you can ruin the wonderful life I had planned uniquely for you.
Those of you who heard the good news of salvation in Christ and received Him as your Lord are on the solid foundation of Christ. I work in you and with you, and to do this I give you My Word and My Spirit, but you are building your life on that foundation by the thoughts you harbor within, your words that you speak, and the works that you do. It comes down to what you attend to the most and find delightful.
But each man must be careful how he builds on it. For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 1 Corinthians 3:10-15.
If you get your thoughts right, that is, aligned with the truth, it will set you free and what you build will stand every storm, in fact, you will take the storms down and anything else that raises its head against My Words, My magnificent promises that are all “yes” to you in Jesus Christ. Your spirit must take dominion over your soul and body, and once that is set, you can take down all the wiles of Satan and the forces of evil. And you must do this if you want a perfect (complete) life.
Only overcomers enter the Kingdom. Cowards do not because what they fear comes upon them and steals their reward. Lazy, idle, and sluggish people do not as well. No one, no prayer line or any other person, can exercise dominion authority for you. Remember the foolish bridesmaids? You need your own supply of oil (your anointing that lifts the burden and destroys the yoke).
Wrong words, those that contradict My promises, set things in your life on a path of self-destruction. Your words have set a course that takes up stronger and stronger momentum the more you think, say, and do them. Over the years it will get you into places you do not want to be and suddenly you realize your actions, words, habits, and addiction to these things (even hate, offense, complaining, depression, anxiety, worry and fear can become addictions) have put you in a very tight place that you are trapped in by the words of your mouth and the thoughts of your heart. You cannot reverse this by one sudden confession of the truth while you still hang on to your prior confession. If you have let your flesh and emotions rule your life for the majority of your years they will continue to try to hang onto control if you do not take this seriously.
Think about the momentum that comes when you push a child on a swing. At first there is not much momentum and it is easy to reverse it. This would be when the devil first starts aiming fiery darts at your mind of self-condemnation, fear, lust, worry, rebellion, doubt, symptoms, and a host of other toxic thoughts and words, you can take authority over those thoughts with My promises and put your thoughts, words and actions above where you are seated with Christ or you can take them in and make them your own. If you take them in as your own and begin to speak them and call those things in, even though you do not really want those things in your life but you keep playing with and venting them, that root grows and spreads inside you, and the momentum picks up. The devil now is driving that swing and it is increasing in velocity and unstoppable momentum.
That is what happened to the Israelites I redeemed out of slavery in Egypt and led to the land flowing with goodness that I had promised to Abraham’s descendants. Even though as I redeemed them as My own special treasure they saw miracles, signs, and wonders such as had never been before or since, the momentum of their complaining, fear, self-seeking, doubt of My goodness, and rebellion against My ways kept them out of the promised land. When they saw I was serious about listening to their refusal to go and the ten times they had tried Me though they had seen My works and heard My Words, it caused them remorse but no repentance and they tried by one confession of My promise to run in and conquer but it had no substance and was disobedient to the new direction I had given them in keeping with their words. Your words have authority even over My Words. Numbers 14:26-38.
I had a solution for them. If you are willing to work with Me you can reverse years of wrong confession that have set you for an early death or a miserable old age. You can get out of Satan’s power. You can take back your dominion.
Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:11-12.
I gave the solution to Joshua to share with the people.
This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success. Joshua 1:8.
And it worked. Joshua had practiced this in his time as the servant to Moses and so had Caleb, and now they taught it to the new generation. Thus, they did not live the futile lifestyle of their parents and ancestors who kept themselves out of the promised land by their words that were stout against Mine, they went in and took possession of their possessions. My Word works if you will work it. It takes an all out commitment and effort to get rid of years of idle words.
But I tell you that every careless (ἀργός (argos) and its cognate forms describe that which is idle, lazy, ineffective, or fruitless) word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:36-37.
Why are your words so important? Go back to the beginning.
I created the heavens and the earth and how did I take dominion over the void, the chaos, and the darkness and make it into a wondrous place of light, life, beauty and splendor that had great organization and precise laws of function and reproduction that work perfectly as one symphonic whole? By what I spoke. And you are in My image and likeness and I gave you dominion over the works of My hands. The highest Heaven is Mine (and yours now for in Jesus I have been pleased even to give you My Kingdom) but the earth I gave dominion over (a leasehold interest) to you, mankind, as My children.
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:26-28.
And then to be fruitful and in control, I gave you the seed, both physical and spiritual. And that is why the devil wants control of the seed. Remember the first parable Jesus told that is the key to how dominion authority works as well as the law of prosperity, fruitfulness, and shalom peace.
“Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God. Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved. Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away. The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity. But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance. Luke 8:11-15.
Adam took his dominion authority and gave it over to a lesser creature through lust and pride but it put him out of his dominion authority into the bondage of slavery to sin and death. Adam opened up the door to evil and in came the curse of poverty, sickness and eternal death to weakened humanity but the good news is that in My Son, by the fruit of His redemption, I have redeemed you from the curse and given you back your dominion authority in Him, the second and true Adam. And I have appointed and anointed Him as the apostle and High Priest of your confession (homologia—speaking in total oneness of agreement with His Words which are My Words). There are those religions that profess to be Christians but tell their followers that healing, tongues and miracles died with the last of the apostles. But your Apostle of all apostles lives forever and miracles, signs, and wonders follow My Word. They are very much alive and you must put that in your mind, mouth, and heart as well if you want to make your way perfect as I am perfect. Remember, the man who controls his tongue controls his whole body and is perfect.
Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession (homologia); He was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house. Hebrews 3:1-2.
Jesus is the faithful witness and My great amen to you. He is your forerunner to go behind the veil to the Holy of Holies and made for you a new and living way. And He tells you what that way in is:
For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak. I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.” John 12:49-50.
Sound familiar? Just like what I instructed Joshua. Give an all-out effort to think, speak, and do My Word. You cannot be casual toward a direction of wrong momentum. Every time you allow wrong thinking and speak wrong words you set those in motion and if you keep doing it you will get the momentum going and it will be hard to reverse. You must be willing to be diligent about this and watch your thoughts and your mouth—and that is the narrow road of denying yourself. You are not doing this all-out effort to earn anything but to apply My Words for the success that is already there for you in the promise of My Word. Jesus did not speak from His feelings, emotions, or flesh but from what lined up with My Word. And as He is so are you in the world. He is My gift of love to you so that you can live your life through, with, and in Him.
It matters what you say, if it is against My Words you are giving momentum even if you only say it to manipulate another. Every time you say it, it is like pushing the child on the swing. Every time swings her up higher so the momentum is harder to stop. That is why death and life are in the power of your tongue. Proverbs 8:21.
And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:11-12.
I love you. I want you to have good success with dominion over every area of your life. Follow this and you will succeed: My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight; keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them and health to all their body. Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you a deceitful mouth and put devious speech far from you. Let your eyes look directly ahead and let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you. Watch the path of your feet and all your ways will be established. Do not turn to the right nor to the left; turn your foot from evil. Proverbs 4:20-27.
