By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. 1 John 4:17.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Jesus is My gift to every person in the world from the beginning to the end of time. You all owed Me an eternal life for the one Adam murdered and lost and in Jesus I gave it to you as if it were your own to offer in payment to Me to be released of your sins.
Please understand this, Jesus did not just die for you, He died as you. I accounted all your sins and offenses to Him as if He were you and punished Him and accounted that to your account. He had infinite merits to pay with, which you did not have and could never have born of Adam’s perishable seed.
Let Me say that again because most people do not understand this as they should. They see Jesus as separate and as dying for the sins for every person at once but do not see it as their personal sacrifice of atonement, but even further, as My accounting the judgment paid as paid by YOU. You owed Me an eternal life for all your sins and in Him you gave it to Me. Jesus did what He did not just for you but as you. When He was crucified and died to sin you died before Me and when I raised Him, I raised you.
He is My gift to you so that you are not judged because in Him you paid it, in Him you gave the payment to Me as your own. I gave you the means to pay your judgment and satisfy your sentence, and I treated it as if you did it. That is why I raised you with Him, not because of Him but because to Me He was you.
Think of when Jacob impersonated Esau to get the firstborn blessing and the Blessing of Abraham. It was designated for the firstborn son (Jesus is the firstborn of many brethren) but when Jacob clothed himself in Esau’s cloths and fragrance, his father Isaac gave him the blessing and even when he learned that he had given it by mistake to the one who was not his firstborn son he could not retract it. In fact, he then added the full Blessing of Abraham with it.
So Isaac called Jacob and blessed him and charged him, and said to him, “You shall not take a wife from the daughters of Canaan. Arise, go to Paddan-aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother’s father; and from there take to yourself a wife from the daughters of Laban your mother’s brother. May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may become a company of peoples. May He also give you the Blessing of Abraham, to you and to your descendants with you, that you may possess the land of your sojournings, which God gave to Abraham.” Then Isaac sent Jacob away, and he went to Paddan-aram to Laban, son of Bethuel the Aramean, the brother of Rebekah, the mother of Jacob and Esau. Genesis 28:1-5
When you are baptized into Christ, I clothe you in Christ and I also make you a descendant of Abraham in Him. Jesus is My gift to you, and through Him I give you the Blessing of Abraham and the promise of the Spirit by faith.
I put Him in your hands so that you can bring Me Him as your offering and pay your judgment in full and I account that payment to you. In Him I give you the means to each individually pay the judgment against you and satisfy the sentence of eternal death. It is a personal gift to each one of you. Do not despise My gift. Do not ignore so great a salvation. Do not reject My gift to you of Jesus. I am giving you your own life in Him.
And He was saying to them, “You are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am, you will die in your sins.” John 8:23-24.
Consider this: Let us say you owed $500,000 to pay off the mortgage loan on your home. You did not have the money to pay it off and you were in danger of losing you home. Say your father gave you $500,000 to pay your mortgage. He put it in your hands as a gift for you to personally go and pay your mortgage loan so you no longer owed it. On your own you could not have paid it but you accepted and took your father’s gift to you as your own and used it to go and pay your mortgage off in full. The mortgage lender treats it as if you personally paid it and releases YOU from the debt. You paid it and now you enjoy debt free ownership but in reality you did not earn the money with which you paid it off. What if you rejected the gift? The debt would still be there and until it was paid you could lose your home.
You did not have an eternal life to give for the life you lost in Adam. There was no man that could pay that price.
No man can by any means redeem his brother or give to God a ransom for him—for the redemption of his soul is costly, and he should cease trying forever—that he should live on eternally, that he should not undergo decay. Psalm 49:7-9.
And He saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no one to intercede; then His own arm brought salvation to Him, and His righteousness upheld Him. He put on righteousness like a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on His head; and He put on garments of vengeance for clothing and wrapped Himself with zeal as a mantle. Isaiah 59:16-17.
I sent My Son as one of you, born of a woman of flesh and blood but conceived and formed from My Word just as the first Adam had been before he sinned and replaced the imperishable Word with a perishable lie and death went from his perishable seed to all his descendants. Jesus had an eternal life to give, you did not, and I wanted to pay your judgment in full so that justified under the law, you could again join with Me as one.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:16-18.
Everyone who receives My gift of Jesus and offers Him up to Me has personally satisfied everything so that there is now no condemnation for you who are in Christ Jesus. I account His life to you as righteousness. If you recall, I had the shadow and type of this in the law of Moses, for the Passover or any of the sacrifices in the tabernacle each person had to personally bring their own lamb and it had to be a perfect lamb without blemish.
Then the LORD called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting, saying, “Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When any man of you brings an offering to the LORD, you shall bring your offering of animals from the herd or the flock. If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer it, a male without defect; he shall offer it at the doorway of the tent of meeting, that he may be accepted before the LORD. He shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, that it may be accepted for him to make atonement on his behalf.” Leviticus 1:1-4.
Now the LORD said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, “This month shall be the beginning of months for you; it is to be the first month of the year to you. Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying, ‘On the tenth of this month they are each one to take a lamb for themselves, according to their fathers’ households, a lamb for each household. . . Your lamb shall be an unblemished male a year old; you may take it from the sheep or from the goats. You shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month, then the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel is to kill it at twilight. Moreover, they shall take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses in which they eat it. . . The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.” Exodus 12:1-3, 5-7,13.
I taught you of Jesus from the beginning at the first sin in varied ways and beginning with My own prophecy of the seed of the woman and then through many prophets. But now I speak to you directly in Him. He is your offering to Me.
Listen: Of old, I told My Covenant people never to come before Me on the appointed days and times (moedim) empty handed. They each were to bring their own lamb as a sacrificial offering. And the lamb had to be perfect, unblemished, and pure. You brought your lamb to the east gate of the tabernacle, and you could not enter without such a sacrifice of atonement. The priest did not examine you but your lamb and if the lamb was perfect you would be accepted to have your sins forgiven. You then would lay your hand on the head of your own lamb and all the sin in you went into the lamb and his unblemished purity came into you in exchange. And then you slayed the lamb and its blood was poured on the altar by the priests and sprinkled on you. If the sacrifice was the burnt offering, the lamb was roasted on the bronze altar of judgment until nothing was left but ashes and then the ashes were put in a container at the east side of the altar and then carried out to a clean place outside the camp, gone forever.
Abraham, on his way up that mountain of Moriah with Isaac carrying the wood for the altar of sacrifice that I Myself would supply the Lamb for burnt offering and in Jesus I did. Jesus is your sacrificial Lamb that makes the propitiation for your sins by His blood upon the altar of judgment. Understand though you had to bring the Lamb and claim Him as your own. And today, each person must receive Jesus as Lord, another cannot do it for you. He is your Lamb. He died once for all but you can better say that He included each one of you in the one sacrifice.
It is My doing that you are in Jesus and I have made Him to be wisdom to you, righteousness and sanctification and redemption. When He died to sin you did as well and when I raised Him I raised you, you and your offering are inseparable. The gift is not like the offense. Adam put you all under the law of sin and death, Jesus cancels that by the law of the spirit of life. In Him you pay the judgment and satisfy the sentence as if you personally did it. I gave you the means to pay it on your own by receiving and offering Jesus to Me. You could say the Lamb, even under the Old Covenant, became you before Me because you were judged by that Lamb.
And your identification with Him is so complete that His inheritance with Me has become your inheritance and His merits have become your merits before Me.
For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. Romans 8:14-17.
When He suffered it was as if you did before Me (by substitution) and when I glorified Him, I glorified you with Him. Now I think you see why you who have Christ have no fear before Me on the day of Judgment. I am the One who paid for you with the gift of My Son. I know what He did and that is attributed to you.
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. We love, because He first loved us. 1 John 4:15-19.
I love you. And that is what Jesus is all about. He is My gift to you that is you. Do not despise My gift as a pig would a pearl.
But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 1:30-31.
