Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:2-3.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Many of you are so very worried you are not doing My Will because you do not feel like you are doing anything of great importance. Many of you have been waiting for years for Me to show up and tell you what My Will for your life is. But you do not understand that if you desire and are willing to do My Will, that is, if you want to please Me, and are doing My Word to the best of your ability with the light you walk in as you seek Me and walk with Me each day you are walking in My Will every day.
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8.
Now listen and I will tell you My Will for your life: Just be My little child. All day every day, all night every night, just gaze at Me your Abba Father and enjoy all that I have planned for you as you hold My hand and spend your days and nights with Me as My little one. You will find that I am a good and loving Father, the best of fathers.
And that will make you the greatest in Heaven.
At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:1-4.
Meditate on this. Jesus who is the only way to Me just told you that unless you are converted and become as little children (paidion (παιδίον) in the Greek language in which it was written, which means a very young child, from newborn through early childhood) you will by no means enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus is the Way and He just told you the Way to be the greatest in My Kingdom: Humble yourself like a very young child.
You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:5-7.
Little children do not carry the cares of life, they cast that all on the parent who cares for them. Little children are carefree. This is just natural to them.
All people from the youngest to the oldest dream of being great, they have what are called “daydreams,” imagining themselves achieving wondrous works of renown in their chosen profession. But here, in what Jesus My Word and the Way has just revealed to you, is your chance to be the greatest in the most important Kingdom there is or ever will be for it is the only one that is forever and is forever unshakeable. “Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
This should be amazing to you. It was to the disciples. But Jesus never asks you to do what He has not done. He is your teacher and you are to live your life through Him. Remember He is the Way. Look at what He said:
“Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me.” Matthew 18:3-5.
Jesus emptied Himself of His powers as God and became one of you. He humbled Himself. He was born a tiny helpless infant and walked through the years of childhood with Me as He grew in wisdom and grace. He always called Me “Father,” and nothing else. And He said none was good but Me alone. He knew.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!” Matthew 7:7-11.
And I will give you the ultimate gift: My Spirit.
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” Luke 11:13.
And I give you the Kingdom, you the little flock of Jesus, those who have humbled themselves before Me, not as knowing all and being superior even to Me, like so many that scorn Me as self-made evolutionists who have no need for a creator or Lord. They are 666. All man and no God. (6 is the number of man since I conceived you all in My heart on the sixth day of creation).
Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. Serve the LORD with gladness. Come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the LORD Himself is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Psalm 100:1-3.
Little children are not asking their parents what their Will is for their lives. They are not worried about that, they just know their future will be well taken care of because they do not think much past each day, although they only look forward and not back. They just do what they are told and go wherever the parents take them and have fun going there.
The eyes of the child are on the eyes and hands of the parent for all they need and want as well as for comfort, direction, guidance, and correction. Their security is to have their parents in view.
A child can do nothing without the supply of the parent and the child knows that, but it does not bother him in the least. He expects the supply with confident trust.
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:4-5.
The little child asks and receives. He knows to go to the father for all that he needs and desires.
Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” And He laid His hands on them and departed from there. Matthew 19:13-15.
A little child with a good father does the following with joy, it is the child’s delight:
- Wants to be with the father constantly.
For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5.
Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. Luke 15:31.
- Wants to do everything with the father.
Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. John 15:4.
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13.
- Does not want to leave the father.
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm 23:6.
- Holds the father’s hand, hangs on to the father.
Nevertheless I am continually with You; You have taken hold of my right hand. Psalm 73:23.
When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, because the Lord is the One who holds his hand. Psalm 37:24.
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” John 10:27-30.
- Looks to the father for guidance.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. Psalm 32:8
- Imitates the father.
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2.
- Picks up the father’s ideas and habits as his own.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2.
- Runs to the father for healing and protection if hurt, threatened, or afraid.
‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:10
- Tells the father what he needs or wants and expects and trusts to have it.
- Asks the father questions, expecting the father knows all the answers.
Thus says the LORD who made the earth, the LORD who formed it to establish it, the LORD is His name, ‘Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:2-3.
- Asks the father to fix things that break, draw pictures of what he asks for, and help him with problems.
From where shall my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; he who keeps you will not slumber. Psalm 121:1-3.
“Ah, LORD God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” Jeremiah 32:17.
- Wants to play games with the father and have the father read him books.
Then I was beside Him, as a master workman; and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him, rejoicing in the world, His earth, and having my delight in the sons of men. Proverbs 8:30-31.
- Wants to spend time in the father’s lap.
He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. Revelation 3:21.
I give a commandment to children, and it is the only one with the promise of a blessing with it:
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.” Ephesians 6:1-3.
I love you. Greatness is within your reach, just be My little child.
