I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. Psalm 91:14.
Who has ascended into heaven and descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has wrapped the waters in His garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is His name or His son’s name? Surely you know! Proverbs 30:4.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
Do you know My Name? I have revealed Myself to you by My Name and My Name in a variety of contexts. I have a Name and with that Name I attach descriptions of who I am to you and what you can expect from Me in your life. But the only people who know and call upon My Name are those who are in My Covenant of everlasting love. It is in My Names that I reveal who I AM.
The first person to ask Me for My personal Name was Moses. Abraham never asked My Name, neither did Isaac or Jacob. But I called them each by name, and in fact I changed the names of Abram and Jacob to Abraham and Israel to denote their place in salvation history. I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God Almighty, which in Hebrew is El Shaddai, but by My name, LORD, I did not make Myself known to them. I also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they sojourned. Exodus 6:3-4. But when Jacob and his twelve sons went to Egypt, as I had foretold to Abraham, they stayed there for four hundred years, but when their sojourn there went sour in slavery, they remembered Me. I heard their groaning, because the Egyptians were holding them in bondage, and I, of course, remembered My covenant, the covenant I had made with Abraham, and I was thus authorized to come down and set their rescue in motion.
I went to reveal My plan to a man named Moses, for he would be the person who would work with Me to be the game changer. For anything to be legally done on the earth, it must be carried out by the authorization and cooperation of one of you, that is, mankind, because I have given you the leasehold to the earth and it is not up yet for My Son to break the seals of the title deed and take it back, the fee simple returning to Me that is. So since Adam shut Me out and gave the sublease to Satan, I can only act if one of you enters covenant with Me. And that is what Jesus was all about. He became flesh, born of a woman, and had full legal authority to act for Me on earth. And He was always about My business, Kingdom business, and you can be too.
Well, when I came to discuss My plan with one of My covenant people, Moses, and he had a question for Me. He wanted to know My Name. There are many people that only call Me “God,” rendered “El” or “Elohim” in Hebrew, which has a much more specific meaning, but still “God” is the way you translate that, but he wanted something more intimate, for in Egypt they worshipped many so called “gods.” Moses put it this way, “Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?” I said to Moses, “I AM WHO AM”; simply put, there is no other God than Me and there is no life or being apart from Me. I was and will be always present and all are alive for Me and because of Me. And I explained further My Name that is amazing for it encompasses all, like a strong tower you can run to and be within safety and glorious majesty, caught up on High, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” I am your NOW, sustaining, blessing, maintaining, healing and renewing, never purduing, but that was not My full Name, that was just the Yah, so I continued, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, יהוה you translate this to English as “LORD” all in capital letters, but in Hebrew it is so much more. It is three tenses of the verb “to be” combined into one shortened word. So what does it mean? I think you know already from the Book of Revelation, it means “I AM, I WAS, and I WILL BE.” So why is it important you know My Name? Because it tells you that I am there for you. I am with you now to walk with you and take care of everything in your life, I have your past covered and give you beauty for your ashes and take all your sins and offenses and put them on Jesus so for you they are gone (I clean up your past), and I go ahead of you preparing you a future of shalom and hope, a life of good deeds all prepared in advance. I am the LORD who looks ahead and provides the solution before you even know you have a problem. The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob and your God too. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations. Exodus 3:13-16.
And under that Name I performed signs and wonders by the hands of Moses that had never been seen before. And through Moses I brought My covenant people out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I delivered them from their bondage. I redeemed them with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. Then I took them for My people, and I became their LORD God, who brought them out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I brought them to the land which I had sworn to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I gave it to them for a possession. But the first generation would not take it, but their children did.
And later I would tell Moses that I AM, I WAS, and I WILL BE (that is, My Name, יהוה) your Healer. I am the one who heals you. And later he would call Me the LORD your victory (banner, miracle). And I would later tell My people, I am the LORD your righteousness. I am the LORD your deliverer, I am the LORD your refuge, I am the LORD you comforter. I am the LORD who looks ahead and provides for you. I am the LORD of Hosts (angelic armies of Heaven). I am your Shepherd. I am the LORD your God.
I go ahead of you as your guide and leader, I go with you as your protection, refuge, fortress, shepherd, provider, healer, and deliverer, and I come behind you as your rear guard. I surround you with the shield of My good Will.
And do you know the Name of My Son? It is the only name given to men by which you can be saved. His Name is translated Jesus by you, but in Hebrew it is Yeshuah. And it means “Salvation.” I sent Him not to judge and condemn you, but to save you. Salvation in every situation.
My Names are for you. They show you who I am to you. I am your source for all that is good. I am there for you. I am El Shaddai.
I love you. All who call upon My Name are saved. When you know My Name you have all you need in this life and the one to come.
