But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16.
For we all often stumble and fall and offend in many things. And if anyone does not offend in speech [never says the wrong things], he is a fully developed character and a perfect man, able to control his whole body and to curb his entire nature. James 3:2.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
Today I would again like to talk with you about watching your thoughts and your words. This is something that requires your constant attention. It is very easy to slip out of monitoring your thoughts and words and lose territory you have taken.
My servant David learned to understand the importance of watching over his thoughts and words to avoid sin, indeed to avoid even entering into temptation. He felt his own weakness in this area, however, so He asked Me put a curb over his lips for him. He wrote, “Set a guard, LORD, over my mouth and a gatekeeper at my lips.” Psalm 141:3.
To curb your lips you need only change your thoughts. It is that easy but it takes study and effort, and the greater the measure you put into it, the more awesome the results. Mark 4:24-25. It is well worth it. It is a matter of life and death, triumph and failure.
I will give you a little rule of thumb to begin: The less you say about yourself, your opinion, your needs, and your troubles the holier you will be. Be like the wise man: taciturn. The fool loves to display what he thinks.
John the Baptist understood wisdom and how to live a powerful life. He said that My Son had to increase and he had to decrease. Yes, Christ (the anointing) in you must increase and the old selfish, fleshy, complaining greedy you must decrease.
By Christ increasing I do not mean you lose your identity—not at all—rather that you become who you really are—that you discover your true identity in Christ, in the anointed one, in your anointing, in the Spirit. You are in My image—powerful, loving, good, and totally in control. I give you My own righteousness in Christ.
Jesus is My Word made flesh. Discover your true identity in My Word. The devil is guilty of identity theft. He has blinded your eyes to who you really are by conforming you to the thoughts of this world. Let My Word give you sight. Let the anointing teach you all things. Jesus said He was anointed by My Spirit to give sight to the blind.
Think My thoughts. Do what I tell you. Be who I say you are. You are My spouse, My beloved and My friend. Isaiah 54:5; Song of Songs 5:16; Hosea 2:19. I have told you that is who you are, so know you are. You are precious in My eyes and I love you. Isaiah 43:4. You are holy and blameless in My sight in Jesus. Ephesians 1:4. And since I see you in that way, you can walk that way every day for all the years of your life. I am the lifter of your head.
You become what you behold. So keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith. See My glory reflected in the Face of Christ and let it radiate from you too. And you see Him by reading My Word. For He is the Word made flesh.
You have the mind of Christ.
You hear that Scripture quoted often but do you know what it means? Let Me explain. If you have someone’s mind you have the same beliefs, opinions, wisdom, knowledge, thoughts, and plans they do. You see the world in the same way they do. You form your opinions in the same way they do. You discern and perceive things as they do. You think like they do.
How do you have the mind of Christ? You have the same anointing. You notice I said “Christ” and not “Jesus.” You do not have the same mind or brains as Jesus but you have the mind of the anointed one. Why? You have the same anointing, the unction of the Holy Spirit on you and in you. You are indwelt by the same Holy Spirit that indwelt Jesus. Jesus announced in His first teaching in the synagogue at Nazareth: “the Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me.” He was anointed by the Holy Spirit. And so are you if you have received My Son as your LORD and been baptized in the Holy Spirit.
So you have the mind that comes from the anointing—from My Spirit being upon you and in you as He was in Jesus. And Jesus told you that He only spoke the words that I spoke to Him and only did the works that I showed Him. And how do I speak and show things to you? By My Holy Spirit.
I am Spirit and only My Spirit knows My thoughts. 1 Corinthians 2:11. I reveal My thoughts to you through My Spirit, for My Spirit searches all things, even My very depths. And that is where your thoughts are too, in the depths of your spirit.
Thoughts are in the spirit and in the mind, but they are communicated (contained in) words. You have the mind of Christ, the anointed one, and that means you have the thoughts of the Holy Spirit, for He is the anointing. So since the Spirit knows My thoughts and searches them out from My very depths, then what He speaks He does not speak on His own but He speaks as He hears from Me and discloses that to you. John 15:13-15, 1 Corinthians 2:9-16.
Please meditate on this. My thoughts are contained in My Words. Scripture is My Word inspired by the Spirit. No prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, moved by the Holy Spirit, spoke from Me. This is the way the Bible was written. 2 Peter 1:20-21.
Do you understand what the Bible contains? It contains My mind. My thoughts in My Words. Taking these Words in and making them your own thoughts and words you become partakers of My divine nature. 2 Peter 1:4. My thoughts become your thoughts and transform you into a new creation in Christ, in the anointing.
Let us go back to what Jesus said about the anointing in defining His mission. “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, He has anointed Me,” He began, but go on to see what I anointed Him to do. “To preach the Gospel,”—My Spirit will enable you to witness to Jesus, to give testimony of Jesus, in your own area and then out to the ends of the earth. My Son told His disciples to first be baptized with the Holy Spirit, clothed in power from on high, and then they would be His witnesses from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:5,8. My Spirit testifies to Jesus, John 15:26, which is My Word made flesh.
And Jesus revealed more of what comes from the anointing. “To proclaim liberty to captives” and to “set free the oppressed”—My Word, the anointing, breaks yokes and lifts burdens, where My Spirit is there is liberty. My joyful and empowering thoughts set free those who are held captive by the thoughts of the world—My thoughts free you from addictions, lusts, fear, greed, jealousy, despair, and anger that bind you as slaves your whole lives long. These never even enter into My thoughts. And once you take on the mind of Christ, you will reject them also. You will be freed by the anointing of the Holy Spirit—for He is not a Spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. But you must yield to Him and replace your ungodly thoughts with My thoughts.
And My thoughts produce the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23. There is no law against these things. Let My thoughts dominate your thinking by meditating on My Word night and day. You can. You can control your thoughts. You are like Me. I choose My thoughts very selectively.
But there is more to what Jesus was anointed to do– “To give sight to the blind.” Satan has blinded the eyes of many people to the Truth of My Word. My thoughts, My Words, as shared with you by My Spirit, will give you light and open your eyes to who you really are and who I really am to and in you. My thoughts will lift the veil that veils all people and bring you to My Holy Mountain for a feast of choice meats and fine wine.
My Son, at the Last Supper the night before He died, told you many truths about the Holy Spirit for He was soon to return to dwell within men’s spirits again. Jesus told you that the Holy Spirit would teach you all things, remind you of all Jesus told you, guide you to all truth, tell you of the things to come, and take what is Mine and declare it to you. My Spirit knows My thoughts and discloses them to you in Words you can understand. 1 Corinthians 2:13. So that you have the mind of Christ.
You must discover your true identity in My Word. Do not continue to be a victim of identity theft by being blinded by the thoughts of this world. Remember that the devil comes only to steal, kill, and destroy and he does this by trying to steal My Word from you so that you do not know who you really are in Christ (remember the seed along the footpath?). He does this by drowning out My thoughts by making it so easy for you to hear and conform to the thoughts of the world. He has taken over the media and the schools. You should not retreat and just sit at the sidelines and let him roam so freely, why have you not bound him, cast him out in Jesus’ Name, and taken territory for My Kingdom in those areas?
So how do you break free of this deception that is oppressing you to be less than who you really are?
By not being conformed to this world but being transformed by the renewal of your mind.
And how do you do that?
By the anointing. It sets free those who are oppressed and releases captives. Luke 4:18. In other words you must be selective in what you hear and believe, in what you think and say. You must have the mind of Christ. Which means that you must think My thoughts day and night and not the thoughts of the world. You must take every thought captive in obedience to Christ (to the anointing of the Holy Spirit). 2 Corinthians 10:5. For only the Holy Spirit knows My thoughts and discloses them to you. John 16:14-15.
You can do this if you have taken Jesus as your Lord because you have not received the spirit of the world but My Spirit, so that you may know My thoughts and all that I have freely given you. And you must also speak these things, but not in words taught you by human wisdom but in words taught by My Spirit, explaining spiritual thoughts with Spirit-taught words. The person without My Spirit does not accept the things that come from My Spirit but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit. But you who have My Spirit can make judgments about all things, but you are not subject to merely human judgments for My Spirit in you and on you can give you skills and wisdom that are far beyond what the world judges you are able to do. For you have the mind of Christ.
By receiving My Spirit and listening to My Word so that My thoughts become your way of thinking and speaking, you will be freed from the deception of the world, find your true identity and take you rightful place of authority to reign through Christ in this life and the next. Romans 5:17; Revelation 22:5.
I love you and I have given you the mind of Christ. Why would you still stay in the mindset of the world? But the majority of you do. Start controlling your thoughts with the spiritual weapons I give you and begin thinking the thoughts that empower and bear fruit. Above all make use of the anointing that is upon you and in you. It can teach you all things. 1 John 3:27. Do not be lazy in this but diligent. It is a matter of victory or defeat.
