“If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve Me; if you utter precious, not worthless, vile, words, you will be My mouth. Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them. I will make you a wall to this people, a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you to save you and deliver you,” declares the LORD. Jeremiah 15:19-20.

Then I said, “Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs. He touched my mouth with it and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is atoned for.” Then I heard the voice of the LORD, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I. Send me!” Isaiah 6:5-8.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:

All will turn out well if you just listen to Me and say what I say and do what I do. I am the God of peace, not confusion, and I am the God of perfect love and not fear, and I am the God of all comfort and not unrest. I AM the LORD your healer. Love never fails.

My Word is truth and My Word sanctifies you. Say what I say. It really is that simple to have a life filled with peace that passes understanding. I tell you not to let your heart be troubled and not to let it be afraid. How do you do that? By what you allow your mind to dwell on and by what you permit yourself to say. “Do not worry then, SAYING, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:31-33. You see, you take a worry that comes in your mind by saying it, instead seek My Kingdom and My righteousness, not your own. If you are trying to seek making your own kingdom and working out your own righteousness it is very burdensome and will cause you anxiety, but it has pleased Me to give you My Kingdom, which is a glorious Kingdom for all generations, and My righteousness. These are both gifts that you can only receive and understand if you have received Jesus as Lord. And you do that by your words. If you speak My Words of blessing and increase you will have great peace. You must watch over your words and your thoughts and reject all that is contrary to what I say about you and others, reject that which causes you to lose your peace. And I make it easy for you, I even tell you what to think on, “whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovable and gracious, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, ponder on these things.” Philippians 4:6-8. And the result? “The God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:9. It takes self-denial but the reward in your life is beyond comparison.

We are continuing the series of “Watch your words,” and today is Life Lesson No. 7: The Integrity of the Tongue. Be holy for I am holy. “Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:13-16. Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the Word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation, if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.” 1 Peter 2:1-4. Be perfect as I am perfect. And I explain, “If anyone does not stumble in the word he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well.” James 3:2.

I call Jesus the faithful witness—the faithful and the true. I want each one of you who believe in His Name to be the same, to grow up spiritually to be like Him. He never stumbled in what He said because He never permitted Himself to speak anything but My Words. He knew My Words had eternal life in them. The revelation of My Word brings light. My Word is a light to your path and a lamp to your feet. Just when you are slipping into fear or darkness, I will speak to you a Word, I will light up a passage of Scripture for you, My Spirit in you will remind you of what I have said, and that Word will give you light and peace. It will light your way out of the darkness into My marvelous light. And it will set you free. The words of the world, the flesh and the devil do not do this, they have darkness and death in them. Why would you choose those words over Mine?

You cannot serve two masters. What has darkness to do with light? I separated the light from the darkness. Genesis 1:4. Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20. Keep a watch on your mouth. Your words should reflect who I have made you in Christ and I have set you apart and sanctified you in truth. John 17:17. I have made you holy. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? 2 Corinthians 6:14-16. You should not have words that sound like those of the world. In fact, there is much on the media and blaring all around you today that is very unholy, impure, and ugly. Be careful what you listen to, do not let those words come into your mouth. You must be holy as I am holy. Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence. 1 Peter 3:15.

My prophet Jeremiah at one time became very discouraged and let himself slip into grumbling and self-pity. I gave him the message for the people and they repaid him by disobeying and even trying to kill him. He was ready to give up. And yet he knew I had called him from the womb, that from before he was born I consecrated him and appointed him a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah 1:5. But, he let himself begin judging his success by the people’s response to his preaching, and it discouraged him. He prayed, “Your Words were found and I ate them, and Your words became for me a joy and the delight of my heart; for I have been called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts. I did not sit in the circle of merrymakers, nor did I exult. Because of Your hand upon me I sat alone, for You filled me with indignation. Why has my pain been perpetual and my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Will You indeed be to me like a deceptive stream with water that is unreliable?” Jeremiah 15:16-18. And My answer? “If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve Me; if you utter precious, not worthless (vile) words, you will be as My mouth. Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them. I will make you a wall to this people, a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you to save you and deliver you,” declares the LORD. Jeremiah 15:19-20. Do you see? I told him to speak the precious and not the vile and worthless and he would be My mouth to the people. That he was to speak My Words even if the people rejected them. He should not give in to and become like them. His focus had to stay on Me, on My Words that I was giving him.

Blessed are the pure (clean) of heart for they shall see Me, even now. You can be in the Kingdom even now. But to do that your conversation must be in Heaven. Avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to ungodliness. Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. You hold the treasure of your spirit and soul, indwelt by My Spirit, in an earthen vessel (your body). So glorify Me in your body, abstain from evil. And that starts by cleaning your mind, heart, and tongue with My Word, just as Christ washes the church with it and Jesus told you that He makes you clean by the Words He speaks to you. “Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels. The Lord’s bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.” 2 Timothy 2:20-26.

Do you remember when Isaiah saw the glory of Jesus on the throne at My right hand? He wrote, “In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called out to another and said, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts the whole earth is full of His glory.” Isaiah 6:1-3. Holiness befits My house forever. And what was Isaiah’s response to the purity of holiness he saw in the vision before him? “Woe is me, for I am ruined! He was conscious of his unclean lips, words that had not been holy like Mine. And the answer? The fire from My altar. So here you have your answer. Jesus came to baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire! And when He came to My throne in Heaven after I raised Him from the dead, He received the promise of the Spirit from Me and poured out My promise of the Spirit on the believers in the upper room and it rested on each one as a TONGUE of fire. And the Spirit gave them utterance in the language of the Spirit—tongues. Pure tongues. Holy. Purifying fire.

And it is the same for you today. You cannot tame your tongue alone, you must have the helper, the Holy Spirit, teach you to speak and remind you of all I have said. For He teaches you all things and guides you to all truth. Do not worry as you witness as to what you will say, yield to My Spirit and He will give you words and a wisdom no one can take exception to or contradict. Let My Spirit teach you how to talk, for He shares My thoughts with you. “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.” 1 Corinthians 2:12-13.

You cannot serve two masters. You cannot straddle the fence. If you are Mine, talk like Me. If you are not, talk like the devil, but do not mix the two, or for every step you take forward you will then retreat two steps back. How? By cancelling the precious with the vile. You cannot mix them.

“Depart, depart, go out from there, touch nothing unclean. Go out of the midst of her, purify yourselves, you who carry the vessels of the LORD. But you will not go out in haste nor will you go as fugitives; for the LORD will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” Isaiah 52:11-12.

Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new lump, just as you are in fact unleavened. For Christ your Passover also has been sacrificed. Therefore let celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 1 Corinthians 5:7-8.

I love you. Never lie. Lies come from the father of lies, the devil. You cannot serve two masters. Be honest, honorable, and noble, speaking the truth in love. Be My faithful and true witness. Set your tongue apart for Me.
