“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” Galatians 6:7-8.
Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them. Exodus 25:8.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God says:
My Son told you a parable that is the key to His other parables. It was His first parable that He told in His ministry. It is the parable of the sower who went out sowing seed. And when His disciples questioned Him about its meaning, He told them if they did not understand that parable they would not understand any of His parables. Why? Because His parables were about the Kingdom and the Kingdom is based on sowing and reaping, seedtime and harvest, that is, giving and receiving. And so it has been from the beginning. A person reaps what he sows. And primarily what you sow is your words. Your words then result in the actions you sow and the harvests you receive. Your life comes back to your words. And so does Mine. And Jesus told you the seed He was speaking of in His first parable was My Word.
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” Galatians 6:7-8.
How do you sow to the Spirit? Prayer. So today we continue our series “LORD, teach us to pray” with Life Lesson No. 7: “Sowing in Prayer.”
Your words are seeds that you sow and what you sow will grow. So make sure you are sowing good seed. My Words are Spirit and life. Prayer using My Word to intercede and to plant the Kingdom of Heaven in the earth and establish the earth therein is sowing to the Spirit. Isaiah 51:16. And the harvest? “The one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” And there are benefits in your daily life too. Consider this “First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2. Do you see the harvest of sowing prayer for your government leaders? The harvest of a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. Pray in godly leaders and a change of heart for those currently in authority. “The king’s heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes.” Proverbs 21:1. I turn it by your prayers. It benefits all to have godly leaders. Just consider the ups and downs of Israel. When the king was one whose heart was for Me and who kept My Words, the entire nation was at peace and prospered. No enemy could take them down. But when the king despised My Word and had a heart for idols and led the people astray, the droughts came, provision dried up, and the enemy came in and carried the people away in captivity. Your prayers matter. If “My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14.
“Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God, for you have stumbled because of your iniquity. Take words with you and return to the LORD. Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity and receive us graciously, that we may present the fruit of our lips.” Hosea 14:1-2. The word in Hebrew translated “fruit” there is actually “par” which is the word for a young bull which was sacrificed as a sin offering and a burnt offering to take away the sins of the priests and of the people. This is offering spiritual sacrifice before Me. Now you do it by pleading the Blood of Jesus and applying it over persons and nations, thus fulfilling the ministry of your royal priesthood before Me. “And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:4-5. For you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for My own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9. Jesus, lift Him up before the world and exalt Him in prayers of thanksgiving and praise before Me and I will draw all men to Him.
Sowing prayers for hearts to open to receive My Word, sending out My Word to heal and deliver, and to enlighten eyes blinded by Satan as you take down his attacks with the Sword of the Spirit is “good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:3. “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise wins souls.” Proverbs 11:30. “Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.” Daniel 12:3-4.
“From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My statutes and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD of hosts. “But you say, ‘How shall we return?’ “Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, ‘How have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings.” Malachi 3:7-8.
Prayer is a way of sowing spiritual tithes and offerings. When you sow your fellowship with Me, you will harvest fellowship from Me in return, which encompasses harvests of peace, joy, revelation and impartation from Me, and I will also send you good friends who will surround you with love and compassion. When you sow time in prayer, you will reap time in that I will organize and inspire your day for you to get what needs to be done in your work and daily demands in much more efficient ways and send you the right people to help you in your tasks and projects. When you give Me the first fruit of your lips in the mornings when you awake, I will speak a Word for your day that will give you the light, comfort, and encouragement you need for that day and I will also give you the words that others need to encourage, edify and exhort them in their day. Your prayers are precious to Me and I give you precious things in return. “I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden wealth of secret places, So that you may know that it is I, the LORD, the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.” Isaiah 45:3.
Sing your songs and make melody in your heart to Me and I will open the windows of Heaven and let you hear the songs of the heavenly Zion so you can share them on earth. Make your conversation in Heaven and I will open the ears of your heart to the conversations of Heaven. And you will know the things to come. You will know the business of the Kingdom to promote it on earth. Declare it. Decree it in prayer.
On the island of Patmos John gave his day to pray in the Spirit to Me and I lifted him up in the Spirit to see things in Heaven beyond what he could know or imagine and showed him the things to come. I did the same for Daniel and for Paul. Daniel sowed much time in prayer and much time in studying My Word, especially the words of the prophet Jeremiah.
Seeds sown grow. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 3:18. And this is a huge part of sowing prayer. Prayer will bring you back a harvest of righteousness and grow a secret garden within you of peace. “In righteousness you will be established; you will be far from oppression, for you will not fear; and from terror, for it will not come near you.” Isaiah 54:14. The Blessing will go to work in you to create a beautiful sanctuary and you will love to spend time there with Me. You will never fear being “alone” again. You will no longer know tormenting thoughts but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. “Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Tell the children of Israel to raise an offering for Me; from every man whose heart moves him you shall take My offering . . . Let them construct a sanctuary for Me, that I may dwell among them . . . There I will meet with you; and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, I will speak to you.” Exodus 25: 1-2; 8; 22. “A garden enclosed is my sister, my bride, a rock garden locked, a spring sealed up . . . a garden spring, a well of living water . . . make my garden breathe out fragrance, let its spices be wafted abroad.” And your response: “May my beloved come into His garden and eat its choice fruits!” Song of Songs 4:12-16. The offering of the fruit of your lips without deceit. “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine, He who pastures among the lilies.” Song of Songs 6:3. “Let His left hand be under my head and His right hand embrace me.” Song of Songs 8:3. “Do you not know that you are a sanctuary of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16. Start sanctifying Me in your heart with My Word in prayer (sanctified in truth) and you will construct a beautiful dwelling place from the offerings of your lips in praise. I am enthroned on the praises of My people. I come to dwell there with you.
Think of yourself in a new way—as a sanctuary, a sacred space, a garden filled with delightful flowers, springs of living water, and sunlit splendor. And do not sow weeds in that garden or put filth and darkness in that sanctuary that I have constructed with the offerings of your lips before Me. I will bring you to My holy mountain and make you joyful in My house of prayer. And that house you are. Allow nothing unclean to enter your sacred sanctuary—for that is what you are. If you see yourself in this light and know that each prayer that you sow is growing into precious flowers, springs, delightful fragrance that is rising heavenward, and My dwelling place, you will be more careful of your conversations with others and with yourself and be making melody in your heart to Me throughout the day. For what you are sowing is growing.
The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her own hands. Proverbs 14:1. Death and life are in the hand of your tongue. Proverbs 18:21. Selah.
I love you. When you pray you are sowing and it will bring you back a wondrous harvest of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit and it will win souls, change nations, stop storms, and bring a harvest of blessings in the lives you sow into in prayer before Me.
