Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”— in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14.
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. Ephesians 4:7.
Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. 1 Peter 1:18-19.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Jesus has redeemed you from the curse of the Law in order that you may receive the blessing of Abraham so that you can receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. And how did Jesus redeem you? By His blood. Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18-19. And what is the Blessing of Abraham? Many are the blessings that come in that Blessing, but the primary blessing is righteousness by faith and not by works. Abraham believed Me and I credited it to him as righteousness.
I have sent redemption to My people; I have ordained My covenant forever; with a most holy and awesome Name—Jesus. Psalm 111:9. Jesus brings you the fullness of redemption. He is your Redeemer. And that is today’s Life Lesson in our study of the unfathomable riches I have put in Jesus, the Messiah: “Jesus, Your Redeemer.”
A Redeemer will come to Zion, and to those who turn from transgression in Jacob. Isaiah 59:20. And it is too small a thing that He should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also make Him a light of the nations so that My salvation may reach to the end of the earth. Isaiah 49:6. With Me there is abundant redemption. Psalm 130:7.
Redemption began with the first man and woman after they fell, but that shadow, the substance, and the fullness thereof was realized and fulfilled in Christ. I made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. Genesis 3:21. That was the first sacrifice and shedding of blood of an unblemished animal, and it covered the sin that exposed their nakedness, that is, that made the glory and majesty with which they were clothed depart. Psalm 8:5. And the next time the word “skin” is mentioned in the Bible is in the life of Jacob and Esau when Rebecca covers the arms of Jacob with the skins of young goats so that Isaac believes Jacob to be Esau and gives him the blessing of the firstborn and the Blessing of Abraham. And clothed in Christ when you are baptized into Christ you become righteous, holy and blameless before Me as if you were Christ in this world. For I have made Him to be wisdom unto you and righteousness, sanctification and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30. He is the sacrifice that fulfills all sacrifices of the Old Testament by a New Covenant established on better promises. The blood of lambs, goats, and bulls could not bring about the fullness of redemption, they were atoning coverings that one day had to be paid in full, not just credited as righteousness but made paid for it.
And in Jesus Christ I give you the firstborn blessing (joint heirs with Christ), which is a double portion (and He told you that you would do the works He did and greater, like Elisha with Elijah) and the Blessing of Abraham (righteousness) opening to you to the promise of the Holy Spirit by faith to be in you and with you forever.
Redemption always involves the shedding of blood, for the life is in the blood and I have given it to you to make atonement on the altar. After the flood had subsided and Noah and his sons left the ark, Noah built an altar to Me and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. Genesis 8:20. So here you see again the beginnings of redemption.
And the next type of redemption is the blood of the Passover lamb the night that I brought the Israelites out of the bondage of slavery in Egypt. I redeemed them with outstretched arm and they became My people and I their God. Exodus 6:6-7. Jesus, your true Passover, the Lamb who takes away the sins of the world, has been sacrificed with outstretched arms and redeemed you by His own eternal blood.
And as I led My people to the land I had promised Abraham and his descendants, I taught them the sacrifices that would be fulfilled in Christ, in the fullness of redemption. They sacrificed unblemished clean animals, like Noah, but not just as the burnt offering, but also as the peace, sin, and guilt offerings of which the priests partook as most holy.
And I also gave My people the law of the kinsman redeemer. If one of the Israelites owed debts and were put into servitude by their creditors to repay, they could either redeem themselves or, if they could not pay the price due to lack of sufficient funds, a brother could redeem them as their kinsman redeemer. Leviticus 25:47-49. But the brother had to have the redemption price. But if you look not just at earthly amounts owed but at the heavenly price owed to redeem your souls from eternal death, that is an eternal life for an eternal life, which had to be paid by eternal blood, then no man can by any means redeem his brother or give to Me a ransom for him—for the redemption of his soul is costly, and he should cease trying forever—that he should live on eternally, that he should not undergo decay. Psalm 49:7-9. So I sent My own Son clothed in your flesh as your brother to pay the price to Me of your redemption.
But what does it mean to you that you are redeemed? First and foremost that all your sins are forgiven and gone, you are made righteous with My own righteousness, and that you are going to live on with Me eternally. But it also means that you have been redeemed from the curse of the law and can receive the Blessing of Abraham and the promise of the Spirit by faith. Christ redeemed you from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for you—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”— in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that you would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Galatians 3:13-14. You are redeemed from every curse.
The curse consists of sickness and pain, lack, and eternal death. Jesus took and bore the curse for you. Just as He redeemed you from your sins, He also redeemed you from sickness, disease, pain, and poverty. He paid the price for sin and for healing. But just as you have to receive Jesus as your Lord before you take advantage of redemption from sin and are born again—you have to receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness to reign in life through Christ Jesus. And the same is true of your redemption from the curse. I took all the sickness, pain and disease that came upon the earth due to Adam’s sin and I put it on My Son’s body at the Cross. There is no sin or sickness in Heaven and My Son had none but I took that which was in the earth and laid it on Him. Isaiah 53:4-6.
Jesus took your infirmities and bore your sicknesses, so when it comes it is not yours who believe. It does not belong to you. This cost Me and it cost Him a great price so it dishonors Me if you do not receive it and instead receive the sickness, pain and disease from the devil. It no longer belongs to you Jesus took it on Himself, it does not come out of the household of faith. You must forbid it or it will stay. I tell you to submit to Me, resist the devil, and he must flee. I never put the sickness that is in the earth on anyone but Jesus. It is up to you now to refuse to take sickness, you must forbid it. When the devil brings it to your body, you must refuse it by telling the devil it is NOT yours because Jesus took yours already and he can take it back because it belongs to him and not to you. The devil works through ignorance and if you do not know you have been redeemed from those things, in fact, if you believe it is from Me, then you will not resist. Healing and all the blessings belong to you, but it is up to you to receive it. My power is present to heal, but just as in the time Jesus was among you as one like you, there were many who did not receive it, in fact, I tell you that He could work no miracles in Nazareth due to their lack of faith.
All the devil has is things that torment people but they are not for you. If you do not refuse them, however, they will stay. And you must not just refuse but resist it actively. You forbid it and if he comes back, and he will, you forbid it again. Jesus did His part by taking your sickness and you do your part by forbidding it. Healing belongs to you, but it is up to you receive it, just as with salvation. Healing belongs to you and as My children it is your bread and your right. But you must receive it and there are ways you can block reception by taking yourself out of the flow of healing, you can move yourself out of position to receive. I am referring to things such as unforgiveness, deliberate disobedience to My Word, refusing to listen to Me (unteachable), worry, fear, and anything that gives place to the devil. You will notice I told you to submit to Me first, next to resist the devil, and he will flee. If you persist in sin you are opening yourself to the devil. If you fall into sin, be quick to repent and confess it to Me (and you may need to get it right with your neighbor as well) and get right back in the flow and you are in a position to receive. It is all a matter of the heart. If you are strong in your fellowship with Me you will stay in the position for the grace you need. Know you are forgiven, loved, and blessed. You have My favor. Stay in peace.
Jesus bore your sins in His own body so that you would be dead to sin and live unto righteousness. When Adam sinned sickness showed up, so Jesus healed you by dealing with the sin problem. You are not to serve sin anymore; you are righteous with My righteousness. Be careful how you walk. If you know something is not right, be careful to stop doing it. I have told you to forgive and I have told you not to worry. I give you the grace for this. Do not be playing around in the devil’s ground, you are on redemption ground, stay on it. This is a decision you must make. If you make it, I can then give you the strength and help you to keep it. Know that if you opened the door to the devil, you can close it again. You are redeemed, you are not trying to get redemption. And My Blessing is on you. You are blessed. Stay out of fear and stay in peace.
Tell the curse that you are already under the blood and under the blessing. Your life should not look like the lives of the unsaved.
I love you. I am with you always. You are redeemed. Honor it. Be grateful for it. Rejoice in it. Enjoy it. Walk in it. It is yours. Stay in peace.
