When the day of Pentecost was being fulfilled, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance. Acts 2:1-4.
“So they will fear the name of the LORD from the west and His glory from the rising of the sun, for He will come like a rushing stream which the wind of the LORD drives.” Isaiah 59:19.
And of the angels He says, “Who makes His angels winds, and His ministers a flame of fire.” Hebrews 1:7.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
Open your ears that you may hear. You expect Me to listen to you, why don’t you listen to Me?
“Hear, O My people, and I will admonish you; O Israel, if you would listen to Me!” Psalm 81:8. “Oh that My people would listen to Me!” Psalm 81:13. “Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, a people in whose heart is My law.” Isaiah 51:7.
“Come near to Me, listen to this: From the first I have not spoken in secret, from the time it took place, I was there. And now Adonai, Yahweh has sent Me, and His Spirit.” Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention (qashab (קָשַׁב): to incline (ears), attend, the same word is in Proverbs 4:20) to My commandments! Then your well-being (shalom) would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.” Isaiah 46:16-18.
I want to guide you to know what to do, not just once in a while but all the time, so that you can live days of Heaven upon the earth. And it all has to do with listening to Me.
Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah knew they needed direction when faced with three enemy armies banded together approaching to take Jerusalem captive. They ran to Me in the temple and prayed: “For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.” 2 Chronicles 20:12. They needed to hear from Me and they were listening. “All Judah was standing before the LORD, with their infants, their wives and their children.” 2 Chronicles 20:13.
And I did not disappoint them, in the midst of the assembly My Spirit came upon Jahaziel, a Levite of the sons of Asaph who were singers of praise songs before Me; and he had My Word for the people, “Listen, all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: thus says the LORD to you, ‘Do not fear or be dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God’s. Tomorrow go down against them. Behold, they will come up by the ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the valley in front of the wilderness of Jeruel. You need not fight in this battle; station yourselves, stand and see the salvation of the LORD on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out to face them, for the LORD is with you.” 2 Chronicles 20:14-17.
And the people were listening. They did not harden their hearts that day as My people had in the wilderness. They received the Word by My Spirit with thanksgiving. Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before Me worshipping in Spirit and truth. And the Levites, from the sons of the Kohathites and of the sons of the Korahites, stood up to praise Me with a very loud voice. And today, more than under the Old Covenant you should respond to My Word, to My instruction, in the same way. Value it. Honor it. Obey it with thanksgiving and joy.
And it turned out just as I said in a very great victory for the people of Judah. I taught them to profit and the led them in the way they should go and they did it fearlessly in the face of the enemy that it worldly terms it would have been impossible for them to defeat. But listening to Me, they came out in a better and wealthier position than they had been before the enemies arrived. If today you hear My voice harden not your hearts. Receive the implanted word with joy, it has the power to save you. And the voice of thanksgiving brings wonders when based on My Words.
And now, since Jesus died for your sins and has been glorified for your justification, I have sent you the Holy Spirit to be with you and in you forever. You can have counsel and guidance any time you want of the night or of the day forever. You can always know what to do if you care to listen and obey.
And for you today, it all has to do with the greatest miracle, the greatest gift, your most valuable treasure—the gift Jesus had to die and rise to give to you! The promise of the Holy Spirit. On you and in you forever. And that is what brings Heaven to the earth. My Spirit. Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit. Zechariah 4:6. My Spirit is abiding in your midst; do not fear! Haggai 2:5.
The Holy Spirit comes to lead you, teach you, guide you, tell you of things to come, and show you the path to life, the path of righteousness and prosperity. “Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” Psalm 143:10.
The most important lesson you can learn for this life and the next is to walk in the Spirit. This will give you days of Heaven on earth. In fact, it will keep you in constant contact with the Kingdom.
The mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, but the mind set on the flesh leads only to strife, toil, and death. The mind set on the flesh is easily offended, disappointed, angered, and depressed. The mind set on the Spirit becomes like Me, Love. When your mind is set on the Spirit you have renewed it in My Word and then you have the grace to choose not to take offense, to step up and overcome disappointment with My Word, to walk free from anger (handing everything over to Me for your vindication) and to have joy that no one can take from you. For as long as you stay in My presence and are filled with My Spirit you will be overflowing with joy. Joy unspeakable full of glory is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, it is not a work of the flesh. To have true joy, you must have My joy by My Spirit. And My joy is your strength. My Kingdom is a kingdom of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. You will find those only in the Holy Spirit. You need the Holy Spirit if you want days of Heaven on earth. There is no other way.
In the Old Covenant My Spirit came upon prophets, kings, and priests, those I appointed and anointed for Kingdom assignments on earth, but My Spirit did not dwell in them since their spirits had not been born again at that time but were still where Adam had put you, with spirits dead to Me but alive to sin. Children of the devil But Jesus has changed all that and now you can be born again by water and the Spirit.
I tell you that My Spirit rushed upon David when Samuel anointed him to be king and never left him. David knew the value of that gift more than many of you believers to who have far more than he did. When he sinned against Me out of the weakness of his flesh this is was his main concern, “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.” Psalm 51:10-11,
Are you even aware of My Spirit in you? Do you consult Him or quench Him? To you listen to His witness and teachings within you or do you grieve Him?
Now let us look at the miracle of when I glorified My Son at My right hand and He received the promise from Me and poured Him out on you. My promise of the Spirit is to you who have received Jesus so I can give you a new heart for your stony heart and then I give Him the honor and of receiving the promise of the Holy Spirit from Me and pouring Him forth on you who believe. I sent John to the Jordan to baptize in water for repentance to prepare the way of My Son, but I sent Jesus to baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire. And He shared with you that He could not wait to receive it for you. He desired earnestly to share that glory with you, the glory of the Holy Spirit once He was glorified at My right hand having purified you from your sins and won for you so great a salvation.
And when He arrived at My right hand and took His place in the center of the throne with Me as the overcomer of the world He did what He had promised. “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Paraclete- One by your side who is there for you), that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.” John 14:16-17. And He told his astonished disciples it was better for them if He left them in the way they knew Him then on earth, for if He remained and did not suffer, die, and rise, He could not send them the Holy Spirit. What was He letting them know? That having the Spirit with them and in them was better because then He would be with them at every moment through His Spirit in them. They would not lose any of Him, they would have more than they ever thought possible. The would have Him, by the Spirit, with them constantly, or not only Him, but also Me, for We are one and the Spirit is One in us as well. When you are born again and have the Holy Spirit you also have access to My Son and to Me—you can be filled to all the fullness of God. You will be uniquely you and I will be uniquely Me but we will be united as One, like a man and his wife in the covenant of marriage, the two become one in the flesh (not the spirit) but they are still distinctly themselves. My oneness in the spirit with you is far superior and is eternal. It is knowing one another in honor and love, but from that all My benefits and promises, as well as the fruit and gifts of the Spirit, flow into your life by faith.
Be like Abraham, consider not the things of the flesh as limiting your life. The flesh would have considered that he was old and Sarah was old and had always been unable to conceive, and shut out My promise. But the spirit considers My promise and considers not the things of the flesh that are in the way of My promise. “Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of your confession (homologia, agreeing with My Word over your own fears and doubts, speaking My Word with Jesus until it comes to pass).” Hebrews 3:1. So keep your eyes on Him and your minds above where He is at My right hand and get filled with the Spirit.
Now let’s look at the day Pentecost was fulfilled. You can learn much about the Holy Spirit here.
Jesus, when He ascended to Me before the disciples’ eyes, told them to wait in Jerusalem to receive power from on High, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, before they went forth to teach, preach, witness, heal, and evangelize the nations. So they did, 120 of them, both men and women, including Mary, the chosen mother of My Son. And they were expecting. But what happened went far beyond all the could have asked or imagined. My power hit them and remained with them.
When the day of Pentecost was being fulfilled, they were all together in one place. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance. Acts 2:1-4. Just four lines tell the story the most important event in history other than the resurrection of Jesus. But this was the outcome of the resurrection, in fact, it was the purpose behind it. To give you eternal life but much more, to put you in oneness of fellowship and communication with Me. That day My Spirit would no longer strive with man, Genesis 6:3, He would thrive in partnership with man. Now He would hover over you to bring your words of faith with My Word of promise to pass.
And a violent rushing wind that filled the house where they were sitting ushered My Spirit in. I tell you that My Spirit rushed upon David. My Spirit can flow where I am being glorified. “So they will fear the name of the LORD from the west and His glory from the rising of the sun, for He will come like a rushing stream which the wind of the LORD drives.” Isaiah 59:19. A pouring stream that My Wind (wind, spirit, and breath are all the same word in Hebrew (ruach) and the same is true in Greek as well (pneuma).) drives on. The mighty wind and the fire ushered Me in when I spoke to Elijah on Mt. Horeb, but I was not in the wind or the fire.
But think about this, what is that wind that is not Me and is not My Spirit but that ushers our presence of the still small voice in? “He makes the winds His messengers (the word translated “angels” in Hebrew is the word “messenger”), flaming fire His ministers.” Psalm 104:4. And I make it very clear that this passage is about angels in the book of Hebrews: “And of the angels He says, “Who makes His angels winds, and His ministers a flame of fire.” Hebrews 1:7. David prayed for his enemies to be routed, “Let them be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the LORD driving them on.” Psalm 35:5. “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?” Hebrews 1:14. They are winds and flames of fire ushering in My power to serve you who are heirs of salvation.
“And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.” Mathew 24:31. And another witness, “And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven.” Mark 13:26. And a third witness, “After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, so that no wind would blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree.” Revelation 7:1.
The angels came with and around the Spirit that day of the fulfillment of Pentecost. Jacob’s dream of the ladder, the passageway from Heaven to earth opened and the angels ascending and descending to be there for service to you. And Jesus verified that He was that portal to Heaven, saying, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see the heavens opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.” John 1:54). The heavenly host is now at your disposal on earth whenever you call, they are here to render service to you who are born again.
And what did I tell Ezekiel to prophesy over the dry bones to bring them up to new life and bring them out of their graves? Speak to the wind (ruach, which means spirit, wind and breath) to come into them. It is the Spirit that gives life, the flesh is useless. My Spirit will raise you out of your graves, but even now He will quicken your mortal bodies as born again new creations in Christ.
And do not discount that the angels accompany the Spirit. The angels are constantly before Me, My Son, and My Spirit, they stay with us. Do you remember what Jesus told you, “But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.” Matthew 25:31-33. And after His temptation in the wilderness, the angels came and ministered to Him, and they did in the Garden of Gethsemane as well.
“But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels in festal gathering.” Hebrews 12:22. And they are very aware of who is being saved, there is great joy among them each time a lost soul is saved.
And you will notice that the wind came first and then there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and resting on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance. Do you recall how I purified the lips of Isaiah so he could speak My Word to My people? My angel put a burning coal from My golden altar of incense in Heaven upon his lips. I am a consuming fire, I purify and refine you as gold and silver are refined—by fire, to burn off all the dross. But this is not profane fire, as the sons of Aaron offered on the alter, this is heavenly fire like Moses experienced in the burning bush. It does not destroy but brings forth My Words and puts you on holy ground.
“Now Moses was pasturing the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. The angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of the bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed.” Exodus 3:1-2.
And what was the evidence that My Spirit had come to them and filled them. Utterance came forth from them. They spoke in Tongues. Their heavenly language. There are tongues of angels and of men. And what were they saying as in a mystery? The interpretation was given to the entire crowd, each in their own native tongue, “we hear them in our own tongues speaking of the mighty deeds of God.” Acts 2:11. And there were there from every nation under Heaven. Acts 2:5. What Jesus had shown Peter and the disciples fishing at the Sea of Galilee shortly after I had raised Jesus from the dead was being fulfilled. The nations were coming into the safety net of the Kingdom, three thousand that day.
We will have to continue this Life Lesson tomorrow to consider what Peter preached to the crowd that came to find out why the wind and the fire had come down.
I love you. It is time you came up higher. There is much more you must see in the Spirit to experience days of Heaven on earth. It is time for you to become skillful in using what I have given you for Kingdom work on earth.
