“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8.
Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:
“O LORD, create in me a clean heart,” sang David. He knew to walk with Me in perfect unity he needed a clean and uncluttered heart.
Keep your focus on Me and you will be much happier. Do not look so hard at the handicaps, deformities, and sins of others or even of yourself. This will pull you into darkness. Keep your eyes on Jesus—keep your eyes on perfection—and be made complete in Him. “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, and in Him you have been made complete.” Colossians 2:9-10.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8. And this is the next beatitude My Son spoke in the Sermon on the Mount. It is a Kingdom principle that involves seeing with your heart. “Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure. But nothing is pure to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, because their minds and consciences are corrupted.” Titus 1:15.
You become what you behold. Do you remember the dream that I gave Jacob when Laban had been cheating him out of his wages? Genesis 31:10. Jacob had agreed to take the spotted and speckled of the flock as his wages, but then Laban’s sons took out all spotted and speckled sheep thinking that then none would be born speckled or spotted and Jacob would have none of the flock. But in a dream I showed him to strip fresh rods of poplar and almond and plane trees, and peeling white stripes in them, thus exposing the white which was under the bark and to set the rods which he had peeled in front of the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs, where the flocks came to drink; and they mated when they came to drink. So the flocks that mated by the rods brought forth striped, speckled, and spotted lambs. Moreover, whenever the stronger and healthier of the flock were mating, Jacob would place the rods in the sight of the flock in the gutters, so that they might mate by the rods; but when the flock was feeble, he did not put them in; so the feebler were Laban’s and the stronger Jacob’s. So Jacob became exceedingly prosperous. Genesis 30:37-43.
What are you looking at in your heart? In your mind? With your eyes? That is why I tell you to keep your eyes on Jesus as you run the course of your life. “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18. “For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:40.
If you are keeping your eyes on Me and the One whom I sent, Jesus Christ your Lord, you are keeping it clean and pure. Eyes on Jesus are eyes on the Word, for He is My Word made flesh, and I Myself am My Word, John 1:1. And it is My Word that washes you clean and sanctifies you—the washing of water with the Word cleanses and sanctifies. “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.” Ephesians 5:25-27.
A clean heart has no clutter, and by clutter I mean worries, fears, lust, grief, anxiety, jealousy, offenses, bitter roots, and I could go on. Things that put you in darkness so that you are not walking in the light. “This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth; but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with the Father, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.” 1 John 1:5-7. In the light all is exposed and becomes light.
“For you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light (for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), proving what is pleasing to the Lord. Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.” Ephesians 5:8-13.
Be careful what you are letting into your heart, with all diligence guard your heart for from it flow the issues of life. “Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.” 1 John 2:15-17. You cannot keep your eyes and your ears directed to two masters, the is Me and the spirit of the world, for you will ultimately love one and hate the other and you will honor one and despise the other.
“Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, until He is gracious to us.” Psalm 123:2.
I have a clean and pure heart. I think in love, I walk in love, and I talk in love. There is nothing unclean in Me, there is nothing that I have to hide in the darkness. “Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.” James 1:16-18. My eyes are to pure to look upon evil and I cannot look on wickedness (in the original Hebrew the word translated “wickedness” or “iniquity” is actually amal (עָמָל), meaning trouble, toil, toilsome labor). Habakkuk 1:13.
All I am and have is open to you for it is in the Light, and in My Light you see Light. And that you see with your heart, a clean heart, cleansed in Light. The revelation of My Word gives light. Psalm 119:130. My Word is pure and clean, enlightening the eyes.” Psalm 19:8.
“The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness. Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness. If therefore your whole body is full of light, with no dark part in it, it will be wholly illumined, as when the lamp illumines you with its rays.” Luke 11:34-36.
Come to Me and I will sanctify your heart. I AM the LORD who sanctifies you. YHWH (יהוה) Mekaddeshkem (מְקַדִּשְׁכֶֽם). This is one of My covenant names in which is contained the promise of sanctification signed in My Name, My precious and magnificent promises that make you partakers of My divine nature and frees you from the corruption of the lust in the world.
And like all My Covenant Names it is fulfilled in Jesus who became wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption for you. 1 Corinthians 1:30.
Sanctification is the process of making or becoming holy, set apart in holiness, the process of consecration. It is taking out the impure so that all that remains is the pure. It is separating the profane from the holy. My Name of Mekaddesh is derived from the Hebrew word for “holy,” which is, Kadosh (קָד֛וֹשׁ). I often identify Myself as Kadosh, which you will see translated in your Bibles as “The Holy One.” The key here is My Holiness, and without holiness no one can see Me. Hebrews 12:13.
Do you remember what Jesus prayed for you who would believe in Him at the Passover supper the night before He died? He prayed to Me for you, “They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; Your Word is truth.” John 17:16-17. Once you have been born again of the incorruptible seed of My Word, you must renew you mind in My Word so that I can sanctify you. For I am My Word and I am holy. My Word is holy and it is living and active, working in you to bring life, healing, and discern the thoughts and motives of your heart. Hebrews 4:12.
My Word is Spirit-breathed and I have given you My Spirit, to pour My love in your heart and to guide you to all truth. And My Spirit is pure and clean. Jesus identified the devil and his demons as “unclean spirits,” they are deceiving, lying spirits, but I identify My Spirit as the “Holy Spirit” and the Spirit of Truth for He is one with Me.
And there is the key, walking in the Spirit, for now that you have been born again by your faith in Jesus, My Spirit has come to dwell in you. And He is the sanctifier. But how does He sanctify you? He guides you to all truth, My Word is truth. Jesus told His disciples that it was His Word that cleansed them. John 15:3. Once your sins are gone by the blood of My Son, you renew your mind to be transformed from the lusts of sin to the purity of holiness by the washing of water with My Word.
“For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. 4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds.” Titus 3:3-8.
When you know your status of righteousness and all I have made you in Christ as a new creation you will live pure, loving the spotless beauty I have given you as a free gift of My grace. “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.” Titus 2:11-14.
“See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” 1 John 3:1-3.
Set you mind on things above where Christ is seated at My right hand, and for in the spirit I have seated you there with Him, Ephesians 2:6, and not on the filth below. It all depends on where you are fixing your attention. Come up here to My throne room. I have invited you to come with confidence, you who are in Christ Jesus. He knocked down the wall of sin that divided us. Sin no longer is your master. You can live pure.
Jesus loves you and gave Himself up for you so that He might sanctify you, having cleansed you in His blood and by the washing of water with the Word, that He might present to you holy, blameless, and beyond reproach before Me, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing. He nourishes and cherishes you because you are members of His body. And you should do the same. Live pure and glorify Me in your spirit, soul, and body.
“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24.
I love you. You will live pure if you hear and obey My Word. “How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your Word. With all my heart I have sought You; do not let me wander from Your commandments. Your Word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You.” Psalm 119:9-11. And that is the key to live pure and free. For a clean heart is a free heart. A clean heart is a joyful heart. And a joyful heart does good like a medicine.
