“And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.’” Job 28:28.

Today your LORD (יהוה) God (אלהים) says:

Walking in the Spirit is walking in wisdom and understanding. And these are the first two of the seven eyes, that is, seven spirits, which range to and fro throughout the earth. Zechariah 4:10; Revelation 5:6. My Spirit guides you to all truth, teaches you all things, shows you things to come, and supplies you with the Words to speak that no one can take exception to or contradict. The truth overcomes lies.

And if you are walking in the Spirit, you are in agreement with My Words and you are walking with Me. And I am the source of wisdom, with Me is the fountain of life, and in My light you see light.

For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6.

If you walk with Me, you will be wise. True wisdom comes from Me.

Paul prayed that you would receive the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation.  And what was the result to you receiving this?  Knowledge of Me.  Ephesians 1:15-16.  And how do you know Me?  By My Word.  1 Samuel 3:21.  This really is all you need to live a successful, fruitful, miraculous life.

In knowing Me you will know My Son, for He is the exact image of My glory and filled with the fullness of God.  In seeing Him, you see Me.  Christ is the source of all wisdom and I have made Him to be wisdom to you and righteousness and sanctification and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30.

Jesus, when He became flesh and dwelt among you, grew in wisdom and favor.  Luke 2:52.  Favor comes into your life as you grow in wisdom.

I tell you that wisdom is the first thing you need to seek and while seeking it to also seek understanding.  Proverbs 4:7.  Wisdom and understanding go together.  To apply wisdom you must have discernment (understanding).

The words in Hebrew are Hakham (wisdom) and Binah (you will see it translated into English as discernment, skill, instruction, or understanding but in Hebrew it is the same word).  I speak of these two– wisdom and understanding– together often in My Word. They are the dynamic duo, the first pair of the seven efficiency experts that the Holy Spirit brings into you to help you run your inner business so that you prosper.

Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, and a branch from his roots will bear fruit. The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD, and He will delight in the fear of the LORD. Isaiah 11:1-3.

The first time I used these words together in My Word is to describe Joseph, who kept My Word and was always walking with Me, and it made him skillful wherever he went.  Genesis 41:39.

Then Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find a man like this, in whom is a divine spirit?” So Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has informed you of all this, there is no one so discerning (binah (נָב֥וֹן): understanding) and wise (hakham (ְחָכָ֖ם): wisdom) as you are. You shall be over my house, and according to your command all my people shall do homage; only in the throne I will be greater than you.” Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.” Then Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand, and clothed him in garments of fine linen and put the gold necklace around his neck. He had him ride in his second chariot; and they proclaimed before him, “Bow the knee!” And he set him over all the land of Egypt. Moreover, Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Though I am Pharaoh, yet without your permission no one shall raise his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.” Genesis 41:38-44.

And by this dynamic duo, that give you My skill and power, I gave Him the ability to interpret dreams, make a plan from them of what to do, and the ability to run a nation.

But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:18.

I did the same when I told Moses to build My tabernacle in the wilderness.  I filled Bezalel of the tribe of Judah with the divine spirit of wisdom (hakham) and understanding (skill) (binah) so that he was able to execute all the work for the service of the sanctuary, including knowledge of every craft such as the production of embroidery, making things of gold (such as the complicated lamp stand that was all one piece with seven lamps), silver, and bronze, cutting, mounting and engraving precious stones, and carving wood. Exodus 31:1-5; Exodus 36:1.  He made the ark of the covenant (Exodus 37) and he made the High Priest’s ephod and breastpiece.  Exodus 39:2, 8.  And I gave him assistants filled with wisdom and understanding also.  And they were able to teach the others to do the work.

Wisdom comes from Me and understanding (discernment) from My Mouth.  Proverbs 2:6.  Ask and I put wisdom in your heart and My Word is where you understanding.

Ask Me for wisdom.  I will give it to you generously.  But ask in faith without doubting.  And once I give you wisdom you need to get understanding to apply it in your life.  You need to be able to discern good from evil.  You need to be able to determine the right path that leads to your Promised Land and not end up wandering in dark valleys all your life.  You need to be able to discern what My Will is.  Ephesians 5:17.

I tell you that the entrance of My Word gives you light (revelation) and it gives understanding (binah) to the simple.  Psalm 119:130.  The simple means you do not have to be a PhD to qualify.  Lean not on your own understanding.  No matter how much knowledge you have you need discernment to apply it correctly in your life.

When Moses laid hands on Joshua as I instructed him to do when he handed over leadership of the Israelites to him, I imparted the Spirit of Wisdom to Joshua.  Deuteronomy 34:9.  But you will notice that there was something more he needed in order to wisely lead the people into the Promised Land and have good success.  He needed discernment to apply that wisdom and I told him how to obtain it.  And it is just this: speak and meditate upon My Word and do not speak words that contradict or nullify My Word in your life.  And do not entertain thoughts contrary to My good promises to you.  Take very thought captive for Christ.

Every Word in the Bible is Spirit breathed and I do not waste My breath.  You do well then to pay attention to every Word that comes forth from My mouth.  When I gave Joshua the instructions for obtaining discernment, skill and understanding to apply the gift of wisdom, I told him “This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate (recite, mutter, think on it and say it over your life) on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it, for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.”  And I added that he must be strong and courageous and not fear or be dismayed at what he saw for I was with him wherever he went.  Joshua 1:8-9.

What do you think Joshua was doing when he heard My Word come to him in this matter?  Look again.  I said to him, “This book of the Law.”  I was referring to what he had in his hand.  He was reading My Word when I spoke to him.  And that is how I speak to you, by My Word.  Read My Word and recite it and think on it until it speaks to you.  I tell you that I revealed Myself to Samuel by My Word.  1 Samuel 3:21.  And I let none of Samuel’s words fail, for he was faithful to speak Mine.  1 Samuel 3:19.  I honor those who honor Me.  1 Samuel 2:30.  I reveal Myself to those who keep My Word.  John 14:21-23.

David remained in My Word and he had wisdom and discernment.  And he counseled Solomon to seek the same.  When David was speaking his last words of advice to Solomon, he said, “Only, the LORD give you wisdom (hakham) and discretion (binah) and give you charge over Israel so that you may keep the law of the LORD your God.  Then you will prosper, if you are careful to observe the statutes and the ordinances which the LORD commanded Moses concerning Israel.  Be strong and courageous, do not fear nor be dismayed.”  1 Chronicles 22:12-13.

And Solomon took this advice to heart, for when I later appeared to him in a dream at night and asked him what his heart desired, he asked Me for wisdom and discernment.  A hearing heart and binah.  1 Kings 3:9-10.  And I gave him wisdom (hakham) and discernment (understanding, skill) (binah).  1 Kings 4:29.

And Solomon always kept the gift of wisdom but later, in his old age, he lost his discernment by abandoning My Word for other gods.  1 Kings 11:4-10. And by this he foolishly divided the kingdom.  Wisdom without discernment (understanding) does bring about the most excellent results.

You need both to be fruitful and leave fruit that remains to bless the whole world.

By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Proverbs 24:2.  And in Jesus you will find all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, Colossians 2:3, for He is My Word made flesh.  John 1:14.

Wisdom and understanding keep your feet from walking after evil, it is by them I keep you on paths of righteousness. It is by this dynamic duo I keep your feet from the snare.

I love you.  Ask Me for wisdom (hakham) and study, speak, and think upon My Word to gain discernment (understanding) (binah).

We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. 1 John 5:18-20.
